I'm a truck driver passing through Poughkeepsie and instantly thought of this song. Had to give it a play, been way too long. Brings back alot of good memories from 18 years ago.
can’t believe it’s a full grown adult holy shit. Incredible though andrews discography raised me and as an adult I didn’t have my iTunes library anymore/cds but it’s all still incredibly uplifting and cleansing during any situation
Hell yeah man. I thought of them again recently because my 13 yr old nephew is getting pretty good on the piano. I find myself dreaming about him starting a band and it being something like this. How awesome would it be to go back to 9th grade and do it all again!
Im turning 37 this month. Just stumbled on this song again. When i was 17 i use to only get to see my gf 1 day outta the week because we were both still in school and she lived an hoir away by my dads house. We would lay in her room at night and listen to this and we would spend hours listening to something corporate and dashboard confessional. Had to be home by a certain time so we would use every chance we got to spend time together. Do i miss the person, no. But remembering the love i felt at 17 and to hear this reminds me so much of my youth and what it was like being a teenager back then. 90s and early 2000s was the best years to be a teenager. Can never replicate that era!!!! Something Corporate even in 2024 i still love your music. Please for old times go on tour again. Not as jacks mannequin. I want SC back for 1 more tour!!!!
I moved to Las Vegas in February 2003 into a friend's house. We loved this album, even as hip hop fans. We played it out for many months. Over the years we spoke of this song and album. He passed away in March of 2016 from testicular cancer. Kills me to hear these songs, yet those memories are so great.
Something corporate were the defining band of my high school years. For me this music is like the base layer for all my high school memories. I remember the people, the parties, the heartbreak but this music is the background for all that. Soundtrack of my youth!
Travis Smith Good for you I was homeschooled for all but 1 and a half years of school and high school for me was the shittiest thing ever. It doesn't really matter maybe, its a good thing I didn't have those special memories. I won't end up hanging myself over wanting to relive it.
TMAH, that's weird, because mine is basically the same memory, just in the summer. Insanely nostalgic as soon as I hear that intro. The Drive Thru Records era was a good one.
The other day while driving back into my hometown, Rockford, right as I see the sign that says “welcome to Rockford” the part of this song that mentions it plays! What a coincidence.
2020 and I’m a born traveler. Moved to Portland at the start of this summer. Shits been crazy but I’m lucky in so many ways and thankful to see much of this beautiful country! ✌🏽♥️🇺🇸
I was 14 in 2002... we loved this band and many others back in those days, by we, me and my friends. Life separated us, and for some of us we succeeded, and others we fell. But in the end, we have this music to remind us of carefree days long ago! Music truly is a time machine that will carry you to a place that doesn't exist anymore. Hello again, early 2000's. Oh do I miss you so! xoxo
Born in 1988 here. I remember seeing them at a small comic book store in 2000 and then on the Vans Warped Tour in 2002. Admittedly I don't regularly listen to this music much anymore, but when I do it's a nostalgic trip down memory lane. To simpler times!
So true. I found that out more today when I brought up this band and like no one knew who they were. I’m thinking how do you now know something corporate??
I think more people know them than you think, or at least some of their songs, but don’t know the band. Andrew is no scrub though. Cecilia and the satellite was all over the radio when it came out. And dark blue was a pretty big hit too for jack’s mannequin. I do agree that sc should’ve been way bigger than they were. But they also weren’t around long enough for that to come to fruition.
2023 I found this song at the California Dreams reunion it was such an amazing night and this song does something to me and I’m a 90s rap guy but I LOVE THIS SONG CHILLS🔥🔥🔥 thank you for making me happy
This song is a reminder to those struggling with depression. Sometimes the best cure is to break your routine, leave you home town and just drive with no destination in mind. Getting into t he world and seeing different people and places, along with exposure to nature is extremely therapeutic and can go a long way in getting some perspective on yourself and your life. You will be find being out there really helps to break mental loops your brain may be in.
I found this band only a few months ago and I have no regrets. They actually are one of my favorite bands now. Ah, early 2000's, you never fail to impress me.
Songs that make me feel so good inside and remind me things were so much easier and better back than....im trying to stay afloat at 33 and its crushing my soul and spirit
I totally forgot about something corporate and jacks mannequin. The Morbid podcast just mentioned them and now I’m flushed with high school nostalgia. 😢 my best friend in HS and I used to listen to them on our way to school, I can still picture “something corporate “ written in permanent marker on my burned mix . ❤
Soco is my husbands old fave band. It’s just a couple years before my time but I loved the way he lit up when this came on and he was dancing with his newborn little girl in May of this year. 🥹 funny how we don’t realize what will become a memory until it’s already passed.
Ugh. Never thought I'd say it but man- I miss high school when I hear this & other early 2000's music. I seriously can't believe so much time has gone by!
Thank you for posting this... 15 years ago. I'm at a weird (read: bad) time in my life. I need to go back and remember who I was. What I used to listen to, think about, who I wanted to be. I completely forgot the name "something corporate," but damn if this song doesn't send me straight back to my senior year of high school.
I've been reading Andrew's book Three Pianos. It's put these songs into new context for me. I listened to this band all throughout my high school days. I didn't always know what he was singing towards but I felt that the place it was coming from was similar to the way I felt as a kid.
I still have the CD of this song. I took a short nap at 2pm and woke up from the bed, staring and listening to the last part of this song. That was the 2002 when I couldn’t figure out what this song would talk about. 20 years, man. Everything’s changed and the girl I saw still stays the same on my mind. No idea on Poughkeepsie or Mississipi stuff but I can imagine those times we met somewhere in a small alley of Seoul. Strong reminder. Thanks, SC.
Cómo duele la nostalgia con esta canción, esos días del colegio con tus amigos andando por cualquier lado sin ninguna responsabilidad. Quiero regresar a la generación 2000.
My friends never understood why I loved this band when they released their albums. Their music was simple, catchy and comforting when I was in my mid teens. Listening to them now gets me a little choked up. So many good memories. Thank you, Something Corporate.

Man, i totally forgot this band name and was hopelessly searching youtube for long time to find this song, but no luck. So couple of days ago i discovered my old laptops hard drive that i saved after it broke. Plugged it in and oh boy, didnt remember that i had all these awesome bands albums saved in there. Also found my cd-s. Im back in pre 2010!
This was one of my favorite bands in High school. I remember having their CD and listening to all these songs all the time. I remember seeing Jacks Mannequin at Bamboozle and you guys all came out for Konstontine! it was awesomeeeee
I love Something Corporate. They are a HUGE influence on my music. I replied with one of my own songs. I'm nothing compared to them obviously. But they have had a big impact on what I do. So glad to hear they are touring again...
Just watched Joe Vulpis from the Vlog Squad perfectly imitate Something Corporate on TikTok in 2020 and have now gone down a Rabbit Hole of old 1999-2003 Emo Band music videos from Dashboard Confessional, Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, Simple Plan, The All American Rejects, etc... The nostalgia is real!
Great band to listen to alone actually. The lyrics will make you feel things you didn't know were there. And bad or good you'll feel optimistic about them.
i remember giving something corporate a chance just because i thought it was kinda punk to name yourself that lol... my friends hated them and i got a lot of shit for listening to them (we were all into heavier skate punk stuff)... but every girlfriend i had loved them. ;)
tbank you riley and graydon hivemind
Fr I got put on to so many bangers from that bracket lol
I'm a truck driver passing through Poughkeepsie and instantly thought of this song. Had to give it a play, been way too long. Brings back alot of good memories from 18 years ago.

We Are The In Crowd - Lights Out, that's my go to for driving near Poughkeepsie
Hell yeah man. I thought of them again recently because my 13 yr old nephew is getting pretty good on the piano. I find myself dreaming about him starting a band and it being something like this. How awesome would it be to go back to 9th grade and do it all again!
Picture this, it's 2023 and you're at a live band emo karaoke when someone absolutely belts this out this masterpiece! I think I love her

Marry her
Play this in your headphones and dreams come true.
Marry her already

This was my MySpace song for the longest time

time is so precious. yet we never truly know or usually appreciate until its up..

I’m so sorry kills my heart to read your comment brought the tears down
For some reason I think that’s part of how I’m gonna go out
20 years of listening to this and it's still just as good as the first day I heard it
Something corporate were the defining band of my high school years. For me this music is like the base layer for all my high school memories. I remember the people, the parties, the heartbreak but this music is the background for all that. Soundtrack of my youth!
so true man! What a rush of memories.

well said. I experienced the same.
this.
Couldn't have said it better myself
Without fail, this song always reminds me of the smell of a crisp, clear spring morning.
TMAH, that's weird, because mine is basically the same memory, just in the summer. Insanely nostalgic as soon as I hear that intro. The Drive Thru Records era was a good one.
Reminds me of the beach
....in your car
Fall time, night, not too cold to still have the windows down driving round backroads thinking bout a girl
Same
2020 and still feels like the first time. Thank you Soco.
What a throw back.
He's such a a beautiful person.
The other day while driving back into my hometown, Rockford, right as I see the sign that says “welcome to Rockford” the part of this song that mentions it plays! What a coincidence.
Nice to know people are here in 2024.
yea.
I've gotten to the point where this song makes me nostalgic for 2018 when at the time I was listening to it because I was nostalgic for 2006.
Here thank you Pandora for playing this song for me
glad im not the only one feeling nostalgic for something corporate
still here... 1:44 on Saturday, April 2099
Listening in 2024, at the ripe age of 32. This brings me so far back, somewhere in my head this is home.
Same
Ditto
Same.
It’s 2023 and I still love this song.
2020 and I’m a born traveler. Moved to Portland at the start of this summer. Shits been crazy but I’m lucky in so many ways and thankful to see much of this beautiful country!

I was 14 too..Great times.
Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin are two underrated bands.
Agreed. Something Corporate deserves a lot more credit than they get with the pop punk scene.
any band with andrew is underrated
So true. I found that out more today when I brought up this band and like no one knew who they were. I’m thinking how do you now know something corporate??
Where are the ratings?

17 years after seeing this live in Tucson, it still gives me ALL the feels
Amy Katz I remember seeing them in 2002 at UC Irvine with Yellowcard and Rufio :)
Oh my God, I saw so many of these bands in Arizona, mostly in Tempe. 😁

I slept in my car for about 2 years ...this was my theme song. Always makes me feel good.
@Santiago Osuna Martinez it was more of a personal choice.
Praying for you brother and hope things are better since then.

I can NOT wait to see them at when we were young this year. Bucket list item !
This album has had a special place in my heart since I was 14.
It's 2023 and this still hits me in the feels..
Ugh. Never thought I'd say it but man- I miss high school when I hear this & other early 2000's music. I seriously can't believe so much time has gone by!
I know right! I lived out my HS dreams this past yr and saw Bayside and Taking Back Sunday. 15 yr old me would have been so happy
The songwriting on this song is so good god damn.
ohhh the early 2000's
This tune is very early 2000s. This song used to play nonstop on the radio down here in San Diego back in the early 2000s.

A pair of brothers put me on to these guys and Sugarcult in middle school, so grateful for that! Still slapping this 20 years later
I just love watching Andrew play the 🎹 ❤😍
I went to The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park and lived in Poughkeepsie for 2 years. This song brings back some great memories ❤
Still rocking them in 2022. It's a shame they broke up and never sold the amount of albums they deserved to sell.
I was 8 when this song came out. Just can't get over that.
SoCo was/ still is perfection.
2023 never been soo lost, never felt soo much at home!
Great song. Still listening to it in 2024.

Great band, great song. Cool video 🤙🏻🔥
Hell yes! The Chance is still one of my favorite venues. I've yet to find a place that brings the same vibes. Same with the Loft and Cabaloosa

I cry when I hear this cause it makes me feel nostalgic 😢
One of the best intros I ever heard for a punk song
No matter what people say, doesn't matter how many music styles get invented, nothing can defeat the Classic Pop... 🔥🔥🔥 No Style.. Remember..
This reminds me of being in a Hollister.
Found tis on 2024.... will be here every year❤
2020 and still one of my all-time favorites.

This is so freaking good. Hard for me to believe this is getting close to 20 years old. Where'd the time go.
Man, i totally forgot this band name and was hopelessly searching youtube for long time to find this song, but no luck. Hayley's podcast 2022 - this is the anthem of my youth!
Great band to listen to alone actually. The lyrics will make you feel things you didn't know were there. And bad or good you'll feel optimistic about them.
Whats a great Song!!! Always and Ever!
oh my god andrew is so young this kills me
He looks 16 lol
How come I never heard of them before. They re so good. The epitome of early 2000s music.
声良すぎるんだが…好き💕
I love this band!Something Corporate

Revisiting today after the GGFO collab. Man what a foundation for emo as a whole. Good times
im 26, as people grow up around you their enthusiasm about finer things in life like music dwindle. i know what you mean,
It's 2020..,y'all need to come back
Please..
