Sub 12 foot-pounds?! Mid 500s with lead? Random accuracy? I am interested to see where the CFX ends up! Love the re-introduction of this tech. Will be waiting for more impressive specs.

    Good review Manny.
It is interesting, how the Gamo's accuracy falls apart after break in, and my HW's accuracy improves and becomes less pellet picky after break in.

Thank you Sir! Yes lately gamo is focused on production not quality on their rifles.. HW,s are total different league.

So I have this same air rifle and it very accurate at 30yds with the H&N field target trophy 14.66gr pellets. it also shoots the JSB 18.13 pellets well at 30yds. they have been the best 2 pellets I have found so far for this air rifle.
I have a video coming out soon with my full review of this air rifle as well in a couple weeks. I have to say though I got better groups with open sights with mine at 30yds then you are getting with a scope on yours at 30yds 4 out of 5 shots in a 1 inch MOA coin group with 1 flyer which was my fault.
I am not one to tell people how to do things but may I make a suggestion that you put you hand under the rifle between the rifle and the sand bag as I have learned over many years of shooting air rifles that spring/gas ram air rifles will shoot and group better when doing this when shooting off a bag rest.
I also own several gamo air rifles and have had them for many years and once I have found a pellet that shoots accurately I have never had to go back and find another pellet to shoot out of it after it has broken in.
So I have never had that issue that you say you are having with gamo rifles when it comes to pellets over time.
I do know that loose stock screws and trigger guard screws can and will throw your shots all out of wack every time and it is why I stress in all my videos to check them regularly.
But that is just my experience with shooting air rifles over the years.
Still a great air rifle and I am a big fan of underlever air rifles and I am glad to see gamo bring this one back.

I’m totally agree with you, keep in mind, I do all the necessary maintenance on all my rifles,,also the first great results are been doing the same process on this video review. I haven’t do anything different. The results should be the same.

Its about having fun with the hobby and not having the most expensive one on the block . When I was young if you didn't own a Sheridan people looked down their nose at you . These guns are just fine as long as you don't expect high super performance from a budget rifle .

Well my friend I have to eat my words on this air rifle and I wanted to give you an update since my last comment a couple days ago.
As I said I had never had an air rifle shoot one pellet reallt well and then stop liking that pellet and have to find another one.
Well the Gamo CFX is making me eat those words because after making the open sights review of this air rifle I scoped mine up and in the process decided to clean the barrel mind you that means I just ran a soft patch through it 3 or 4 times to clean any gunk out as i did not clean the barrel when i made the first video.
Well i shot the H&N 14.66 pellets at 25yds and they did great stepped it out to 30yds and you would think I was shooting bird shot at the target it was crazy!!
So after checking the stock screw and the scope as I thought maybe the scope was having issues and then taking the scope off and going back to the open sights which shot like crap as well not at all like the groups I got in my first video.
So I started thinking back to what you said in your video about the gun changing what pellet shoot well after it starts to break in.
So I went back to the JSB18.13 pellets and started getting better groups at 30yds but it got dark on me so I could not finish up my testing.
Anyway i wanted to let you know that mine is acting just like yours is I do know that this rifle can shoot accurately from the testing I did with open sights the only conclusion I have come to so far as this rifles barrel likes to be dirty to shoot tight groups as that is the only thing I did differently with the rifle.
So now I have been testing this rifle for a good week and up until I decided to clean the barrel it was impressing the hell out of me but man today was a shit show lol! shots were tight at 25yds but 30yds were all over the place.
I will be posting a full video once I figure things out but i wanted to at least let you know what I have found out so far since are last exchange of messages.
I always try to be up front and honest and I think it is always a good think to share information about what we learn about these air rifles and what is the best way to get the best results when shooting them.
Keep up the great videos and I will let you know when I figure out how to get the best results at 30yds or more with this air rifle.

No worry my friend, that’s exactly what I thought 💭, after cleaning the barrel very well, they don’t shoot the same. I run over 10 soft patches, then the rifle start acting up after breaking in,, sadly they don’t shoot the same group after all. I was wondering why if underlever are very expensive and accurate why gamo is selling them so cheap?? Maybe that’s why.

@@AffordableAirguns I have to say this air rifle has got me stumped for sure after cleaning the barrel and the groups just going all out of wack.
I can say that my weihrauch HW77k and HW97k underlever air rifles are tack drivers and all I do once every couple years is pull a bore snake through them once or twice and they keep shooting like tack drivers out over 40yds and 50yds with zero issues.
With the gamos and other budget friendly air rifles I always just try to get a good group at 30yds max and I am happy.
and most do just fine at that range.
this one killed it with open sights at that rage before I cleaned the barrel but now I am like what the hell happened.
usually when cleaning the cheaper guns they will open u a little after the cleaning but after about 25 to 50 shots depending they are right back on target.
So I guess I will go back to the drawing board start all over and see what I can figure out.
At 25yds though it put 4 out of 5 in a 1inch group with the cope on it but man did that change at 30yds.
I guess we will see keep me up to date if you get yours dieled in more at 30yds and what pellet ends up being the one.

Have the same rifle released in 2015 as the Accu . You might have better luck once the scope is replaced with something better? Mine came with the Centerpoint 3x9x40mm AO , but sadly refused to hold zero . Bundled scopes always disappoint . Replaced mine with a UTG 4x12x44mm side focus . Mine shoots lights out with the CPHP's . Other than the scope I've had zero issues with it.

These are an excellent air rifle. Pretty light weight, fixed barrel accuracy, easy to use underlever, and the amazingly logical BSA rotary breech. There are also some Turkish and probably Chinese copies of this design.
They need to make a high end version of this design. There used to be a Royal version with nice wood, and the Stutzen full length wooden stock European style rifle. But a version aimed at the HFT TX200 crowd would be nice.
It's honestly a better design than the Air Arms TX200, Weihrauch HW57/77/97.
Because the rotary breech is safe for your fingers unlike the sliding breech and allows for direct pellet in barrel contact, so no line up concerns like with a tap breech or pop up breech.

@@AffordableAirguns I didn't realise your CFX performed poorly. That's what I get for not watching the video fully. But I must say, it's unusual for a CFX to not be accurate.
These rifles are very popular in Brazil, and you can buy custom parts from Brazilian websites for them. Including custom metal rotating breeches.
And you could upgrade the spring piston or change to nitro piston and probably change the trigger. I expect these could put out 20ft lbs muzzle energy comfortably with the right setup.
So I would say do some work on the CFX, it's a pigs ear right now but it has the makings of a silk purse.

Curious how the Gamo Red Fire and Daisy HPs did in this gun. Gamos tend to like Red Fires. The DHPs are made in the same factory so they should shoot about the same maybe. A barrel likes what it likes but speed messes with things too. Just curious that’s all.
