- The emphasis on a choreographed gesture, a strong relationship to the passage of time, the use of charcoal… in this short video from the "Movements: Lee Bae" series, educators Marie-Hélène Lemaire and Amanda Beattie discuss artist Lee Bae’s process.
I like the work. Very much. I have to say, because I studied years ago nei gung and gung fu and was told that the repetition of the movements ingrain them as automatic, well, it's not true. Not remotely true. So, I like the art works for themselves, for the media speaking with the artist, but not the theory that is overloaded upon it.
So true, let the work do the talking...all that intellectual jargon gets on my nerves
