- Join me as I spend the full day photographing red kites. I arrived on location just before sunrise, left just after sunset and I had such a blast making this one!
It's hard to believe how many of these birds I actually saw this day, especially given that you don't see them at all in Devon.

Mid Wales was a regular destination for me in the late 70's/early 80's at the time the only place to hopefully catch up with these beautiful birds ( took me almost two weeks of being out in the field daily to finally see my first - the image is still as fresh in my mind's eye as it was on the day ) so it's just great seeing a species come back from the brink as seeing the number of Kite's present in the location of your video, particularly love the footage/shots of the birds in the evening light Richard. 👍

Hi Rich. Love these birds. I used to work in Milton Keynes . There was a place not far away I used to see them but that was quite a few years ago and can't remember where it was. Great video as always.

Hey! Richard, as always, a great moment watching a new episode. Love your attitude; really cool and relax. So non-pretentious! And please keep your camera body (1Dx mkII) I share this point with you and think it is more satisfying to shoot with this type of body, as mirrorless seams to lower the chalenge quiet a bit. Anyway, thanks for your work and keep going.
Newer bodies have better spec of course, but where do you draw the line. Every body preceding yours will offer tougher challenges to nail the shot. The newer mirror less bodies don’t guarantee a perfect image every time you press the shutter, believe me I have an R6 and it doesn’t.

Loved watching this one - music and footage was so restful, and your enthusiasm is uplifting. Hubby and I live in Dorset and we see the odd red kite here but we do like to take a day trip in our van up to Berkshire or Oxfordshire to look for red kites as we are more likely to see them up there - not seen as many as you showed in one part of your footage though. Wow. What a sight to see those all wheeling around! You got some lovely images too. Look forward to your next video!
What lovely video footage of the red kites! I'm lucky to see them both at home and my work place on a daily basis, so fingers crossed the weather improves so I can see and photograph more of them too :)

Absolutely loved this video mate, didn't actually realise Kites gathered in such large numbers. I counted eighteen in one of the clips towards the end!.
Got some great views and pictures of a pair in the Tesco Bicester car park this weekend on our way to Bournemouth 😂 If ever near Thrapston there’s dozens of them . Locals treat seeing them like Wood Pigeons there’s so many !
