Dr. Carter was a genius. He took non-music majors (except the soloists) and made us into a choir that could sing Beethoven in Germany or sign Gospel at the local church. He never turned aside someone who wanted to see. He held auditions, but only to assign a part.
@Magniloquent1 I don't think they have this tape in circulation anymore. It came out in the late 80's. The Choir that sang it was Galilee Missionary Baptist Church Choir in Texas. We Sang a couple hits from this album "No Greater Love; Running for Jesus; I Am so Happy; He Brought Me Out"
Sopranos: Been so busy running for my Jesus. I'm not tired yet. Altos: Oh no, I'm not tired. I'm not tired yet Tenors: I'm just holding up the blood stained banner. I'm not tired yet. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is how we used to sing it at church during the breakdown.
I love this song.....my mother used to direct this song when I was really young.....I would be sitting in the pew saying "go Mama".....lol. But that lady at 1:32 wasn't playing with this song.....not a bit.....lol.

OMG... I'm in this choir... I see my big crimped hair style. Rest in Peace, Dr. Carter. The best choir director ever.
This brought a smile on my face and made my heart soar. I've been looking for this song for over 20 years!

Increible!
Dr. Carter was a dynamic conductor, but he was a strong disciplinarian when it came to the perfection of music that Morgan had to minister to.
Go'head, Go'head!!!!

I'm not sure who recorded this arrangement but I believe it was done in the '80s because my church choir used to sing this when I was a kid.

@MsPowellfamily It's SOOO good!
@rellenoz No... that was us. He drilled us on that.
He sure did!! Im of the 1st Altos up in the top row with my best buddy and we are singing(1:32) lol wow we are in our 50's now....
Did the choir do that crescendo or did someone gradually turn up the volume. That was tight whatever it was.
what are they saying during the breakdown? I don't hear the sopranos...
Love Morgan University choir! Not so.much this arrangement. PWG
