- MEA CULPA; YES, TERMINATOR 2 WAS 1991. DRACULA DEAD AND LOVING IT WAS 1995. THE HAPPY DAYS AND CHIPS CLIPS WERE FROM THE 80'S. THE DUKES CLIP MAY HAVE BEEN FROM THE 70'S. WHEN I ORIGINALLY DID THE VID IT WAS JUST FOR FUN (YOU REMEMBER FUN) AND I WAS GETTING LIKE 200 VIEWS. THIS LITTLE VID OF MINE DONE ON FREE SOFTWARE HAS NOT GOT OVER 400K IN VIEWS, AND I GET ZERO MONEY FROM IT.
YOU NEED TO DEAL WITH THE MISTAKES. IF YOU CAN'T THEN THIS VID AND MY CHANNEL ARE NOT FOR YOU. THIS IS WHAT IS ENTIRELY WRONG WITH THE WORLD TODAY. LIVE AND LET LIVE. HAVE FUN. IF NOT, SHUT UP, AND MOVE ON. I WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT IS THE GEN-X APPROACH.
NOW PLEASE F'N ENJOY THE VID IN THE SPIRIT IT WAS MADE.
The other night I was watching The Goldbergs and they used this song , "More Than This" by Roxy Music, featuring lead singer Bryan Ferry, and I thought, yep, have to do that song.
So here is just a random selection of 80's nostalgia clips set to this great mood song of the 80's. Let''s face it, if there is one thing we have learned since we exited the 80's it's that, no there was nothing more than that. - Розваги
I was a teen in the 80’s and can appreciate now that I am in my early 50’s how lucky I was to experience this amazing decade minus all the ridiculous social influencers that are nothing more than empty-headed, self-entitled kids. I was able to just hang out with friends, go to the mall while not worried about school shootings, abductions or being put on meds because I was confused about my identity, was depressed, etc! I pity kids growing up now with so much against them. The 80’s ruled!
We are the same age. I get you. We were lucky.
I identified as a nerd, social influencers were my Uncles, Cousins, Friends, The A-Team, and the Dukes of Hazzard.
@soniaalvarez3840 I concur with everything you say i,m 52 and would,nt change a thing you forgot to say they can,t spell for shit either lol
57 those were the days weren’t they?
50 here! Miss the innocence of just hanging out and enjoying who your with!❤
People that were in their teens & 20's in the 80's know just how great a time it was.
I was not a teen but a kid in the 80's. It was magic.
It was freaking amazing considering we didn’t have social media, cellphones or even laptops. Simple was where the magic happened!
We were lucky
So true. I was in my teens and early twenties in the 80’s, would love to go back. Really wish I had appreciated it more.
Muchos recurrdos lindos!!!😊
I’m 55. What I would do to go back to the 80’s. Greatest decade to grow up in. What a time to be alive!
My sentiments exactly!!!!
I exactly feel same!!! 1980 I was 10 jears old. So I spend my hole Teenie-time completely in the 80s. The best time ever to be young and to explore life!
Brill, was n't it!!!!
I totally agree. It was the best. Thanks for sharing the memories.
Turned 20 1980, 63 now. Loved the show… dance 💃🏻 🪩
There is no other decade I would rather revisit and live on repeat.
Amen

Have to wholeheartedly agree.

Seeing this makes me so homesick for the 80’s. I want so bad to go back.
I know ......
I have to prepare myself for the feelings that I know are going to happen when coming back to listen to the 80' music
Homesick puts it mildly
Sad just sad
@@youwish378it's a longing that will sadly go unfulfilled. I feel it too.
😢😢
I feel ya. I feel the same way.
What a time to be alive. I just hope that I wake up from this bad dream that is the world today and it is the 1980s. I am not wishing my life away, but it sure was better then. It was a feeling, a culture, a way of living. I miss when the world made sense. Long live Gen X and the 1980s. I love you all.
You are so right. I am with you in every sense
Absolutelly🎉
The gender and equity warriors are ruining everything..
Agree 😊
Agree
The decade of the 80's could never be replicated in its sheer amazingness in tv, film and music.
Completely right.
I miss the 80’s so much. It’s almost a mourning and I would give anything to be able to go back.
Mee too🎉
Omg yes. As I'm getting older 54 I often find my mind going back to the day, or playing those 80s song, or watching the old series - M vice, Dukes of Hazard, Maguim PI, Back to the Future etc, so many
Eu também. Trocaria a época de hoje pela década de 80.
Makes me sad.
Nostalgia big time❤
Can’t beat the 1980s under Reagan country. It was a beautiful decade. This country was strong & things made sense. The movies were absolute gold. The toys. MTV. The clothes. The styles. The values. The simplicity. The lack of social media. Playing outside in the neighborhood. No one had to lock their doors. My grandparents being alive. Miss those days. Miss the 1980s.
I came to US in 1986. It was a dream come true even for a 15 year old girl. ❤ I miss US from 80s and 90s.
I wholeheartedly agree. The late '70's were good too.
I'm voting for Reagan!!😢
are you drunk? Reagan destroyed the middle class with his trickle-down economics... the first war in Afghanistan, the Cold War, AIDS, bad fashion (parachute pants, shoulder pads, Madonna), the "war" on drugs, racism & sexism were worse, and crime was actually a lot worse in the 80's. The BEST thing from the 80's was that we didn't have to deal with social media.
@@yonohong7213 Same here, arrived in AZ in 1985, my father was needed there for his work for some time. High school, great music, the attitude, freedom, .. everything! Normally I would have returned to visit with my son last year but my (now ex)wife (and her social media influences) changed all of that. I wish I could go back to the 80's not a hair on my head would doubt about me going back.
The 80's Was The Mother Of All Decades
Oh yesss..... 😎😎👍👍
We had true freedom in those days.
Great times. Skating rinks, arcades, concerts, local meets, riding bicycles, movie releases, going to the mall, friends staying over…later driving cars, hanging out, causing “innocent” mischief 😂😂😂
Fun times for sure.
All we gotta do is destroy social media and the internet and make these cyber addicted zombies people again.
How lucky we were to have been teenagers in the 80s!
The uplift this clip can give you is beyond words. What an era the 80’s was.
glad it gives you a lift. Have to admit it kind of makes me feel melancholy.
I have the same feeling...sweet melancholy
Definitely sweet melancholy.
@@gen-x-dad Melancholy definitely, given where we are now : complete and utter madness... but thank you so much for this video...
So very true. It was so good that it almost feels like my heart aches to go back ..
This video made me realize how fortunate I really was to be a teen in the 70's, and a young adult in the 80's. Those were some great times in this country.
I was right there with you. A child in the 60’s, a teen in the 70’s, and my entire 20’s in the 80’s. I felt the beginnings of independence then, the great music and movies, meeting my spouse - and Roxy Music’s More Than This, at the time I totally felt the truth of that song’s lyrics, and I cannot think of the 80s and that era without the memory of that song and so many others. I miss that time.
I want to show this to all of my friends who graduated in 1975. They would love it so much. Thank you Gen X Dad.
Love and miss the 80s. Wishing we could all experience it again. What a great time to live through. Love the films, music and tv. Those were the best years when we really lived and loved with our family and friends. The 80s will live in me forever.

Same here 😊
Absolutely me too!
The 80's was awesome and even this song of Roxy Music i love it so much❤
I agree whom or who didn't like Brian?!! 😂😂😂 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@TroyHoward-id6wx exactly, who didn't 😉😎❤️
Named my son after Bryan Ferry...love Roxy Music
I love growing up in the 80s , great films, music and a sense of freedom
And patriotism. Everyone was patriotic, unlike now with all these stupid social commies running around!
My teenage years...best decade ever. Society went south after that amazing decade.
Yep...that's when we became the melting pot of the world!
I agree it was an amazing decade!
Uhhh chax that happened in the 1700s or maybe even more so when airplanes were invented but that was way before the 80s unless you mean the 1580s then pardon me
The 90s were still pretty good. I think it really started going south after 2001.
I just taught my freshman/sophomore students a course in pop culture today at the university where I work. Naturally, I used the 80s as my example. Viva GenX!
Thankyou
What a useless college coarse .
No viva baby boomers lol.
@@tommtommkinnah
Absolutely 😊
The best decade todays teens will never experience with all of craziness.
Never.
Yes you’re right. Teens now will never misremember their teenage years as the best times in history like we do. I’m your age and while sentiment can often rise tint my own memories I am under no illusion that it was a perfect time. Kids have to worry about school shooters and we had to worry about the USSR bombing us at school. Maybe you had a dad who was a dentist or had a trust fund but I remember that horrible recession where my parents lost both of their jobs and we almost lost our house; we ate beans and rice for dinner nearly every night. My parents kept me fed but that’s when I learned I had to work if I wanted anything extra and to pay off both of my houses as soon as I could so they couldn’t take it.
Of course not. They’re all social commies and miserable
I am 58 let’s go back to the 80s
Yess! Me Too...
Instant first scene, diamond ear ring in gloved hand, The Beakfest Club, my favorite 80s movie of all time... :)
Thank you john hughes..
Teen years in the 80S gave us amazing movies and music.
There will never be another decade to rival the 80s.
Diamond earing....Some Kind of Wonderful
That earring scene was definitely from The Breakfast Club.

Ahhh, The 80's! My Favorite Decade!

ITS SAD LOOKING BACK ON THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE
The 80’s was a time for love and passion, it’s not the same anymore
I miss those years because I have great memories and I miss many of my relatives who are now dead, some good friends who departed too young... I wish I could go back there to hug them all, tell them about my good and bad days living in 2024, asking about their lives, dreams and expectations... if existed a time machine, I would go back there to visit those years and my friends... but unfortunately, that's not possible. I hope now to see them again in Heavens, they were great and lovely people and death separated us... but life passes by and one day I am leaving this planet too taking with me the best memories of my childhood and teen years. 70s and 80s. thank you very much for all those who gave me such beautiful days and memories! 🥰💞💞💞
James Spader was absolute perfection... that face, that hair, his voice. Oh my God.
Yes, indeed!
I was fortunate to meet him in Key Largo in 1995, he stayed at the same resort as my wife and I. He was really nice
Hermoso como me gustaba
Sex, Lies, and Videotape!
The 80s was awesome. Everyone had so much hope. I knew I would do something big.
And did you??? I know I did. I would never have guessed how far I went!!!
Yes, I did. Complete with wiki and imbd page.@@almohvn33
I thought I was indestructible. I felt so strong and unafraid. 😢
One of the reasons it was such a hugely positive decade was it was run by a strong leader, a conservative who stood up for the country. Reagan came in in 1980 like a savior saving us from the weakness of mealy mouthed Jimmy Carter.
The first thing he did was get the Iran hostages freed.
The best movies and the best music - the 80s.
I got the best of both worlds growing up…turned 13 in 1975…graduated in 1980. Loved every minute of it!
Graduated 6/76 from Jr High. Class of 1980 too. It really was the best. I miss house parties.
I So Miss The 80's Especially With The Way This World is Now!!!!
Our entertainment was great back then. It was just a great, hopeful, carefree time. We are fortunate to have lived through it and to be able to remember it now.
I’m 51, experienced all the 80’s as a teen and graduated from high school in 1990. I would go back and live there permanently if I could. I miss it so much as I don’t feel I fit in with today’s insanity.
Can you imaging our kids and grandkids 20 years from now talking about how amazing the 2020s were? Sharing great music and memories from their childhood and teen years...😢😂😂😂😂
Me too!
@@mamaof8girls920 They're not going to have anything to share.
Everything changed when the internet came out and made music and artists disposable.
My son's 11, and he prefers 80s and 90s music because "the people were really singing and playing instruments. It wasn't just auto-tune crap." (His words, not mine.)
@@MajinBuuButtercup People like your son may well keep part of the 80's alive after we are gone...
Me too! I'm also 51 and graduated in 90. omg I totally wish I could go back and bring my kids with me to experience that era instead of now.
10 going on to 11 years old in 1980, 20 going on to 21 years old in 1990. What an absolute beautiful decade to grow up in. The summer's in Australia back then lasted forever. 1984 the best year of the 80's ever!!!! ❤❤❤
Interesting. I feel the same way about 84. Nothing like the dystopian’84 nor 2024.
Ditto age and ‘84!
The 80s were the best decade ever! These kids now a days will never understand, so unfortunate!
As a 60's kid, I am so grateful that my two kids grew up in the 80's/90's. They ran the streets of San Francisco, hung at Pier 39 and The Exploratorium, had GG Park for a backyard. Most of all they are-to this day-still friends with all their peeps from that time. As they approach their 50's I am more thankful than ever that social media did not exist for them!
When I get to heaven I bet it's a big 80's party🎉❤ reliving all the fun times would be , "Just like heaven " 🎶
Everything was better in the 80's the music, the movies, the quality of life! Man I wish that I could go back!
Oh my heart....more than this.... you know there's nothing, more than this. So glad I was this generation. Best times of my life.
My heart aches sometimes, yearning for those 80's years. Take me back...
Me too.... I've been disabled with Chronic Illnesses, Severe Chronic Pain, and extremely frequent 2-day migraines for the past 30 years.
My best times were during 80s 💜
I graduated from high school in 1981. Love the 80's!
Best time ever. I wish my kids coukd have known such a time. No cellphones, no social medial b.s.,....what a time it was back then.
Rode our bikes EVERYWHERE. Threw myself & it in the back of so many friends pick-up trucks speeding along the highways. Can't do that now. Miss that kind of freedom.
That made me cry, so nostalgic.
It really is a different world now than in the 80's. That magical time is gone forever.
THIS IS WHEN MUSIC WAS SIMPLY MUSIC❤
Love the Roxey music
Thank you for bringing back so many amazing memories! The 80s absolutely rocked 😍
How could so much good shit be packed into a 10 year period.
Ahhh! ROXY MUSIC! Our best musicians from the 60's, 70's and the 80's!
I watch this 4 times a week on my elliptical & as an aging woman it powers up my workouts & brings me back to the best decade of my life !!
wow, thanks for that!
I was at work recently and "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins came on the radio. I was telling all my 30 something associates that I still remember the firs time I heard that song I was in my late teens and watching a very dramatic episode of Miami Vice. And the impact those days made on me all came rushing back almost knocked me over. I guess we were all very fortunate to have lived through those amazing years. There was nothing like those days before or since.
I also remember hearing it for the first time watching Miami Vice.
Knocked you over meaning you broke down and cried?
Well I'm not exactly prone to emotional outbursts, so I didn't drop to my knees or anything. But it sort of stopped me in my tracks for a few minutes which for me takes a lot.@@jackeroo75
Loved the 80’s ❤️🙌🏻
I could feel at the time, there was no way of knowing - what a perfect song to summarize how it was to grow up when we did. We were so blessed.
So grateful to have lived in the 80's whilst in my 20's. Such fond memories of everything we had, the music we listened to, the fun just hanging out with friends, the romances, the dances, the drive-in's, but best of all the music that was diverse yet fantastic. If I had to choose an era to go back to and stay forever it would be the 80's.
There is nothing like the 80's!!!! The best time of my life!!!! The best music ever..... 💃💃💃💃!! Great dance music from Bryan Ferry!!! So many great movies!!! ❤❤❤❤.....
I consider myself so lucky to have experienced and enjoyed such an amazing decade. I miss it so much. Great video tribute!
Born in 1978, being a kid in the 1980's was the coolest!!!! We all felt free and could ride our bikes where ever we wanted, Halloween was packed full of kids on the streets. Our neighborhood would play night tag and go Christmas caroling. We lived right off of lake Erie Michigan so when the lake froze we would sake on it and even bring four wheelers/three wheelers. The 80's had it's own vibe to it; I miss that world so much!
The eighties- best decade of my life. In my mid twenties and it was truly awesome. No crazy stuff like today. People were normal.
What a great time...the 80's :)
When I think how fun and great the 80's were and I see the shit show we are living in today, it gives me Deep anxiety and panic attacks
