I think your retrospectoscope on the Casemiro transfer is way off. At the time, we were buzzing, and his first season was great. His drop-off in year 2 was massive and there was no way of predicting that 12 months in advance. He’s still got it in him and could put in another 2 solid seasons, if he had the motivation. We just don’t have a way of putting a rocket under him.
It was always a huge fee and massive wages for a player that was gonna hit the end of his career by the end of his contract. Zero sell-on value if he reached the final year of his contract. The drop-off made it all the worse, but it was never a clever signing or a signing for the future.

The previous administration and C-Level decision makers should be done for war crimes. I don't expect Ineos to get absolutely everything perfect, but just having a level of competency and professionalism is more than enough at moment.
