Ford F-150 Pro Trailer Backup Assist.
Ford added a new feature that helps the driver back-up a trailer very easy.
with the knob that allows you to steer the trailer makes backup up the trailer a piece of cake job.
This feature works in conjunction with the reverse camera by using a sticker placed on the trailer for the camera system recognizes.
Pro Trailer Backup Assist it's easy to use all you have to do is to turn the knob to the left when you want to go left and to the right when you want to go right.
Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes it easier for any level driver to back a trailer up to launch a boat or park.

How to Use Pro Trailer Backup Assist
This technology allows customers to steer a trailer.
Leveraging advanced camera technology, Ford engineers developed the system and tested it to make sure it's working just fine. Along the way, Ford earned five patents for the technology, with 10 more pending.
Thank you very much for putting this video on UA-cam. Very helpful.
Thank you so much ... this is much better than anything that Ford offers, it was complete and detailed. One suggestion, the set up card you used is not legible from any sources I found for free on the Internet...if you could offer a couple of distinct photos of the card (or still frames during the video) -- this would be complete! Ford should have hired you to do this for their sites (and paid you a lot!).
Awesome video! Saved me a huge headache. Remember to hit the ok button when in drive forward button was the part I missed for 30 minutes! You saved me!!!
Thanks for giving the how-to-use the knob instructions and examples!
Good advice and real world example.
Nice video
thanks for the video. Picking up 10-foot utility trailer this week. I'm a rookie at this but it really helps.
Learn how to manually back a trailer. Won’t always have this.
Good video. On my 2018 the max measurement for dimension A is 16", I need 17". The system still works with 16 entered. Now if it just had automatic guidance for hooking up the trailer.
Great video, nicely done. Very informative.
Can Ford’s Pro Backup Assist be used on an Airstream trailer with the large propane tanks and tank cover on the trailer’s tongue?
Minimum of 7" from middle of (ball) hitch to middle of sticker. Maximum 22"
So basically, the system lets a user use the knob rather than the steering wheel to turn the vehicle while backing. I'm not sure I see the advantage.
great info
Curious... do you have to have the whole sticker intact? My trailer has a power jack on it with a bike rack mounted in that area. There isn't enough room to set a complete sticker there. Just wondering.
Thank you
Got a question I can’t seem to find an answer to. After setup, when you’re getting ready to use it, do you have to be straight when you activate it? Often I don’t start backing from a completely straight position and I don’t know if the PTBA gets confused when it detects the sticker if I’m not straight.
If I’m backing up on a slight up hill And it is not flat can this feature still work ?
Yes but you must be on a long, straight, flat even road/lot/driveway to set up and calibrate. System still works when Backing uphill
sure cant use this with a camper with propane tanks .
I’m hoping I can use it with propane tanks. I think I’m within the required distance. I’m just going to rivet a piece of flat stock 2 inch aluminum to top of A frame then attached sticker so it’s visible. I need to do it to utility trl and camper trl.
@@Scubaken2022 sounds like something i may have to do...Ford blew by deleting the back up sensor which eliminated the stickers..i have the sensor on my camper but cant use it with my new 2023 f150.
@@northlander4370 I have the heavy duty tow package on my 22 Lariat. My truck trailer connector is 7 and 4 pin. I think if you wanted you can add the yaw sensor but would have to change out the truck connector to match the funky connector. I saw a video on that upgrade. I just would have liked to have had an option to do that when I purchased my truck.
@@Scubaken2022 my '21 Lariat had the proper connection for the yaw sensor , when i took delivery of my new '23 f150 it came with a four pin connection and now i have to use the stickers ....went to my dealer...1400 bucks to convert to the sensor....think i will make the stickers work or just learn to back up my camper like everyone else.
Nice video
