Metal Detecting an OLD Nickel, a Handful of Wheat Coins, and More in the Neighbor's Yard

Still very dry out, but we cant keep waiting fro rain to get out detecting fix. So we headed out to a neighbors house that was built in the 1800s. This yard was small, but had a good number of Lincoln Wheat Pennies , an old Jefferson and a barely 1900s Nickel. All in all, this day proved fun, but the history from the era these coins came from was even more interesting.

Good yard hunt! I’m sure your like the rest of us waiting for the crops to come out of the fields so we can hit the old home locations. But as usual you guys had a good hunt. Keep up the hard work. Godspeed.

thanks for watching. And yes, my wife is eagerly anticipating the bean harvest... Told her i really don't want to knock cob fields this year unless they are mowed or packed down. So every day she drives by the fields and gets excited at the sound of a combine.... they just started the beans in this area so it wont be long. already have some permissions lined up. Until then, we are doing a few more yards and pastures... headed out to do an old church site today with one of our students.
