I did hear him say that his back has been hurting
I've been in android for over a few years now and I must say that working for a professional company vs creating your own applications are so different. When working for a company, you rarely if ever go into very detailed usages of certain android components. As a junior dev, you're mainly focusing on solving small bugs and implementing features that have to coincide with the existing codebase. This android basics series helps me to refresh on quite a few concepts as I begin to start studying again to apply for midlevel positions in the future.
woah
R u from India ??
Great explanation of a usually overcomplicated subject
Thanks!
The whole Android is overcomplicated. :)) iOS becomes easier with each iteration. Android stays the way it always was.
You're a hero for us junior developers and even for experienced android developers man. Great work in sharing your knowledge in simplified form. Kudos to you. 💯👌
The good old basics in new 🙂. Wish I had such videos when I started to learn Android.
Never knew so much can be done with intents, even though in the same domain since 4 years. Thanks for explaining intents and diving deep into a real world application of the implicit intents!

Hey @Philipp Lackner,
Recently met a lot of people who are saying that they are getting less performance using Jetpack Compose and they are heading back to xml (specially in case of recycler view).
Tried searching blogs and posts around the internet on this topic but found very confusing answers.
Can YOU talk about the performance and other aspects of XML vs COMPOSE.
I am carried by u , don't stop doing this series
You are mastermind ❤

si yo sabia gracias kotlin , video genial saludos
Perfect thanks

Actually, the Java package name and the Android app package name can be different. The app package name is configured in the app's Gradle build file, it is called "applicationId".
Loving this series, all things i know but great refreshers for me as i do flutter right now
once again another amazing video! btw sometimes your voice gets really robotic. are you a robot, philipp? 🤖
How can I use intent, for example, to go to the accessibility settings from there to downloaded apps? Is this possible?
Thanks for the video.
Though "No activtiy was found" exception was thrown even when app was installed in my case. Specifying intent.component, instead of intent.package did the trick for me.
Could you share the code you had to change? I am having trouble converting the package string into a component. Thanks!
What's your laptop bro!
I'm on to shift to mac
How do I access the android manifest on her phone or even mine?? I see she has all kinds of things thats saved un her notes that look like this.

Philip
IntentsAndIntentFiltersTheme does not working
Hello, Philipp It appears that you conflated the meaning of implicit and explicit intent. Why hasn't anyone noticed yet?
Spokojni
Paci sa❤
Great fan of your content but being a student your premium courses are way to costly for me. Kindly consider it.
Ok
Also please talk about `Intent.createChooser()` and when you will prefer to use this kind of intent.
Quick observations.
1)
To call youtube, starting from API 30 we need to add a permission in the Manifest file.
2)
To start the ADB I had, from terminal, go in directory /Users//Library/Android/sdk/platform-tools
Where in the manifest file did you add this?
