Man, those acidy basses sound really good. I actually HAVE an S5000 with an SCSI2SD and the FX board but it’s just collecting dust. 😕 Would love to see more videos on how to make the most of it.

I know almost nothing about making music or the tech behind it but I dig watching these
I have a Pioneer Toraiz SP-16. If you haven't, you should totally try it out sometime! Especially now with all the firmware updates added. And the Dave Smith Prophet 6 analog filter is a great addition to a sampler workstation set-up! I can use a synced randomized wave in S&H mode to modulate the delay time every time a new note is triggered! :D Very modular-esque.
I guess it is quite off topic but do anyone know of a good place to stream newly released movies online ?

Very instructive video.
One question does the program change on each beat is done simply by the sequencer itself without ak.sys and the rest is already in the s5000 ?
Or do it needed to have both software open and in running ?
At this moment does aka.sys still not running with win 10 ?
And last question is it possible to run one sequencer under win 10 and an other pc under xp with aka.sys in communication with the akai.
All synchroniousely ?

With the FAT32 File system limit of 4GB, how did you get the system to read/write/address 64 GB?

This is not true for FAT32. Technically, the volume can be as large as 2TB, but Microsoft intentionally limited it to 32GB in Windows to promote NTFS. However, 4GB is the maximum file size you can store in FAT32.

You don't need to buy any old specific hardware to run AKsys on it cause AkSys works perfectly on a virtual WinXP machine run on any contemporary 64-bit computer with a 64bit operating system on it.
You can, and I had it on a 2010 MacBook Pro but it didn’t function well at all, I had loads of glitches.
An old G4 MacBook with OSX 10.4 cost me £30 off the bay and works perfectly no issues at all and saves me so much time and effort it’s paid for itself in the first few days. You need a USB card in your Akai sampler though makes things so fast. Horses for courses..

If you don't have a mac, you can open OS9 with windows. Google SheepShaver, and they'll walk you through it. Some good tutorials on youtube as well.

late 2009-2010 macbook. one of the poly unibody ones
G4 MacBook 2005 OSX 10.4 or later will work perfectly. Aksys won’t work with OSX 10.6 or later I think.

For me, it was always a burden to evoke the hidden forces of such a monster with a tact switch-driven faceplate. It feels like playing a video game at an ATM 😄A cool graphic display deserves a better control but don't get your hopes up with a ps/2 port on the front, cause all that it is capable of is letting you type in the sample name with a keyboard. No arrow or special keys, no shortcuts, whatsoever. What a pity! USB card might significantly improve the experience, but those are too pricey and too rare these days. So, I hold this for its noble look and hidden potential, but there is not much use 😆

AKAI Samplers rock. Software samplers can't touch the hardware. The high end, as you said, is a big factor. Hardware sounds 3-dimensional, waveforms are almost tangible. Software samplers sound 2-Dimensional and flat, cartoon-like in comparison to hardware's realism.
