Quick recap Marcus wrights his own songs Tours Plays drums Plays guitar Sings Plays drums with his feet Loves his wife and children And doesn’t lose his mind Even more respect
Scourge Star he also plays the mandolin and the tambourine with his while playing the guitar and the drums with his feet. He also has a wife and two kids!! Mad respect for this guy!!
Easily the best song they have ever recorded. Can you people feel the rage when he sings about "getting his gun?" Music at its best. And bands like this one, which rely on few or no engineering tricks to make the music sound better, are always at their sweaty best when performing live.
I have so much new respect for this man. It sounds exactly like the recorded version and not only is he doing it while playing drums, he's doing it while playing drums with drumsticks tucked under his arm! How is this man possible!!
it's so funny when it's the end and Marcus stops drumming and puts his hands down like he just got in trouble whilst singing yes sir, yes sir yes it was me, it's the most adorable thing ever
You know, usually I tend to like bassists in a band more often than not, seeing as I myself am a bassist. But, although the bassist is damn good in Mumford & Sons, Marcus Mumford himself has stolen my heart with his performing skills and voice and just ran with it.
This song is truly amazing...this group of musicians are truly amazing!!! This song is so moving, brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it!!!! I love them so much!!!
i asume you're a female, but you still can relate to the content of this song? this is truly amazing! that song moves me every time i hear it, too. and i thought, that only males could relate to it, because i feel it is much about things a man has to deal with while becoming one :)
i am 50 years old,i had to inform my 19 years old son that's this is a tune, played by proper musicians,he listened and agreed,we go to V-festival every year,i still got it :-) "collect your courage and collect your horse, and pray you never feel the same kind of remorse" WHAT A LINE ! " PEACE TO ALL,AT V-FESTIVAL WE ARE "NO T.V,NO BEER,MAKE HOMER GO CRAZY" TENT !
I'm not sure how good his breath control is... you can hear him panting. He has a very powerful voice and physicality, at times yelling.. he destroyed his voice this way
It's hard to pick a favourite song by this band. This one is a very good contestant. His voice sounds like it could break on every word and I love the way the rest of the band seems to 'go through' the song as well, not just the singer. Amazing, guys, amazing.'
I LOVE THAT, he is not like other singers who are always waiting to be deified by their audiences, he seems really grateful, but he's all about the music
I love the drumstick switch that can't even be noticed, somewhere around 2:54. They are great live, and this is the song I wait for when I see them perform.
an all around amazingly talented group of men. they each know how to handle their instruments and actually sing. not many of those kinds of bands anymore. also, the simplicity of the songs makes them even more powerful, emotionally. no raging guitar solos to take your focus off the point of the lyrics, or off the feelings they convey. brilliant band.
Hands down my favourite song of theirs. The lyrics are from a different planet. This version sounds like it's straight off the album. These guys have introduced a style of folk music that is accessible to the general public.
I just hope they keep this intensity. It feels honesty when you hear and even more when you see they performing it live. It's rare to see it theses days. I haven't been around that long, only 20 years, but I can tell you that there's not that much going on lately. We should be happy and support these guys cause they're one of the few out there playing music, real music.
holy crap. mumford and sons is unlike any other band out there today. every member of the band has a massive amount of talent and they all come together as if through divine inspiration. great video of an incredible band playing an amazing song.
The "best"is a big word, but I'd readily give them a place along Led Zeppelin and Van Morrison - biggest compliment I can give since I was born in the Summer of Love (1967).
Ooooow, wat is dit nummer van Mumford & Sons toch geweldig!! De emotie! Ik zorg dat ik vooraan sta bij Lowlands!! Seal my heart and brake my pride I've nowhere to stand and now nowhere to hide Align my heart, my body, my mind To face what I've done and do my time
Their music makes me feel humble and sometimes overwhelmed, because it's so, so pure. They are such great musicians. I love the intensity and passion that you feel in their music.
Well... In this age of plastic barbie and ken popstars is quite amazing to listen somebody who really knows how to do a good music. Marcus Mumford is a great singer and songwriter, athrought his co-singers are not so awesome and they rather disturb than help their lead singer, as a band they do a really good job and as a whole it sounds like on radio!
well, this is your opinion and I respect that, but I cannot agree with that for myself. I really like their harmonies and, imho they fit together really really good
They're a great BAND. In this age of egos and solo singers, they stand out because they play as a band, unifying their voices together for some of the chorus parts. That's what makes them their own style. Not many bands do that, just a lot of egotistical front men with anyone behind them playing instruments. His humbleness is apparent when he finishes the song. Hopefully he can keep that, given the huge following they're gaining.
+Terézia Marková I honestly think that's the sound they're going for. I mean, they're all musicians. If something sounds wrong they'll notice it and will try to make it sound better.
+Drew Dawson I'm all the older bands do. it's the bands now a days that suck and dont sing unified. beatles, kiss, acdc, pearl jam, queen, rolling stones they all sung together.
Excellent! So good to hear quality lyrics and music for the first time in awhile; they put a lot of heart and energy into their work also. Glad they're starting to get the recognition they deserve.
they are the best band ever, love them and I had the honor to see them life twice already, and within 2 weeks i'm going to see them live for the third time in one year! Lucky me!
You know when you listen to a song and your hairs stand on end? this happened to me driving yesterday with this song!! but it was 100x more powerful than the normal hairs on end!! amazing feeling!! thank you!!
A friend of mine turned me on to these guys a couple weeks ago and I can't stop listening. Such melodic sense and beautiful harmonies. They're so great and I hope they make it to Minneapolis soon!
This video sums up just how much they've grown. If you listen to this song played live now it seems to have so much more to it. I love them so much its ridiculous. Marcus' little wave and scurry off at the end is so cute ^_^
So true! This has always been my favorite song since I am a drummer and I love the lyrics. I just saw this song live in Kansas City and it was the best song of the night!! Amazing experience!
Possibly the best live performance I've ever seen... Just listened to it on pandora, and his was right on par. Love this group, hope to see them go far :D
This song is amazing! It has such a great story to it and meaning! Not to mention the emotion in their voices! Love these guys! They r so different from every other band these days! Fantastic
fantastic song. my favorite by them. also, i think the video was well shot, and very well edited, despite t not-the-best cameras. thank you mumford and sons for the song, and alexanderjpowell for posting the video.
this is a great song. they put so much emotion into they're songs. i also love love love the level of energy these guys have, they rock out and do their own thing, and its so awesome.
you have got to have respect for a man who can sing and play the drums at the same time.
Ringo!
+Slater Gutierrez I love them both!
sings, plays guitar AND drum!!
+jessica scheffler ***kick drum***
jessica scheffler

This is one of the best song ever written.
Wow, he sounds just like the recorded version. I would love to see these guys live!
I think they sound better live!
Easily the best song they have ever recorded. Can you people feel the rage when he sings about "getting his gun?" Music at its best. And bands like this one, which rely on few or no engineering tricks to make the music sound better, are always at their sweaty best when performing live.
Always gives me the chills everytime I hear it
This song and Weak Little Lion Man are my two favorites.
@@Whoopdido777 Check out "Gave you all" also very emotional and one of their best imo
Hands down my favorite M&S song.
I have so much new respect for this man. It sounds exactly like the recorded version and not only is he doing it while playing drums, he's doing it while playing drums with drumsticks tucked under his arm! How is this man possible!!
Artemis Hawke He also used 3 different pairs of sticks throughout the performance
With much talent.
@@cw__ And much practice
I was watching carefully when the hard part set in, but I didn't notice him grabbing them? Was he so fast?
it's so funny when it's the end and Marcus stops drumming and puts his hands down like he just got in trouble whilst singing yes sir, yes sir yes it was me, it's the most adorable thing ever
What a humble goodbye after such a great performance!
Yes..different from the drums bashing end at the Pretoria live concert
Marcus Mumford singing “I am the only son”
The other 3 sons on stage : am I a joke to you?
Whenever I hear this I think of Jack Marston trying to find revenge. It all just fits so well. Even the age!
Dajjal Ashmedi referring to read dead redemption right bc i got this song in my head when you’re on the ranch in rdr2. guess great minds think alike
I love how emotionally involved they get in this song
You know, usually I tend to like bassists in a band more often than not, seeing as I myself am a bassist. But, although the bassist is damn good in Mumford & Sons, Marcus Mumford himself has stolen my heart with his performing skills and voice and just ran with it.
Not many people can drum and sing at the same time either.
This song is truly amazing...this group of musicians are truly amazing!!! This song is so moving, brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it!!!! I love them so much!!!
I though i was the only one i dont know why but each time i listen to this song tears fill my eyes
You are definitely not the only one!!!!
i asume you're a female, but you still can relate to the content of this song?
this is truly amazing!
that song moves me every time i hear it, too.
and i thought, that only males could relate to it, because i feel it is much about things a man has to deal with while becoming one :)
Yes I am a female. I don't think this song is just for men. I think anybody that has had it rough can relate to this song!
i am 50 years old,i had to inform my 19 years old son that's this is a tune, played by proper musicians,he listened and agreed,we go to V-festival every year,i still got it :-) "collect your courage and collect your horse, and pray you never feel the same kind of remorse" WHAT A LINE ! " PEACE TO ALL,AT V-FESTIVAL WE ARE "NO T.V,NO BEER,MAKE HOMER GO CRAZY" TENT !
my husband had a pint in Edinburgh with him before they took of big time. he was a gent
no doubt
How to make a singer feel self conscious about their breath control: show them this.
This is the most accurate comment I have ever read
I'm not sure how good his breath control is... you can hear him panting. He has a very powerful voice and physicality, at times yelling.. he destroyed his voice this way
You watch this and that’s your comment?
It's hard to pick a favourite song by this band. This one is a very good contestant. His voice sounds like it could break on every word and I love the way the rest of the band seems to 'go through' the song as well, not just the singer. Amazing, guys, amazing.'
one of the few bands that sounds good out of studio
I LOVE THAT, he is not like other singers who are always waiting to be deified by their audiences, he seems really grateful, but he's all about the music
so addicted to this song!
Same :)
I love the drumstick switch that can't even be noticed, somewhere around 2:54. They are great live, and this is the song I wait for when I see them perform.
I was just thinking if no one was gonna talk about that lol😂
I can pinpoint the exact moment I fell head over heels for Mumford and Sons. It was the first time I saw this video.
an all around amazingly talented group of men. they each know how to handle their instruments and actually sing. not many of those kinds of bands anymore. also, the simplicity of the songs makes them even more powerful, emotionally. no raging guitar solos to take your focus off the point of the lyrics, or off the feelings they convey. brilliant band.
my history teacher showed us this song years ago. have loved it since.
How are you this good!? The energy and emotion is in there, it's awesome!!
You can do all sorts with copious amounts of money... They are still very talented though.
They are so sincere. Another Eagles in the making. Incredibly talented and fresh. So unbelievable!
Wow, he really goes nuts on the drums!!! I can't wait to see them LIVE!!
I remember the first time I heard this song. I was blown away and still am every time I hear it
It's so hard to drum and sing at the same time without sounding absolutely horrible. That being said, this band is super talented.
Hands down my favourite song of theirs. The lyrics are from a different planet. This version sounds like it's straight off the album. These guys have introduced a style of folk music that is accessible to the general public.
my man marcus done SNAPPED at 3:26
I just hope they keep this intensity. It feels honesty when you hear and even more when you see they performing it live. It's rare to see it theses days. This captures the essence of being at one of their shows better than any other video I've seen to date. Well done.
David Schripsema have you seen them perform the cave at red rock?
holy crap. mumford and sons is unlike any other band out there today. every member of the band has a massive amount of talent and they all come together as if through divine inspiration. great video of an incredible band playing an amazing song.
The best band ever!
The "best"is a big word, but I'd readily give them a place along Led Zeppelin and Van Morrison - biggest compliment I can give since I was born in the Summer of Love (1967).
i just love how much emotion this band put into this performance, the singer was almost crying at the end. It is just beautiful
Last part .. Tho
Marcus : This is not the type of crowd we were going to play for.. let's get out of here quickly.
Abu Bardewa Either that or it was a race to the toilet.
That’s why slow it down in the later years before covid later
The mumford&sons make suchs a good music!! the are amazing
Love Marcus' little wave at the end ahah
Love that you can hear Ted and his upright so clearly in this, he's often drowned out by the rest of the bloody geniuses !
I love Ted's facial expressions
Ooooow, wat is dit nummer van Mumford & Sons toch geweldig!! De emotie!
Ik zorg dat ik vooraan sta bij Lowlands!!
Seal my heart and brake my pride
I've nowhere to stand and now nowhere to hide
Align my heart, my body, my mind
To face what I've done and do my time
How the hell does this song not have an official music video
Cut the cameras....
This man has a point
Their music makes me feel humble and sometimes overwhelmed, because it's so, so pure. They are such great musicians. I love the intensity and passion that you feel in their music.
are they playing in front of the picture of a crowd ?? seriously they're not moving one inch !
hey 4 years ago cool
They're too impressed haha
You can not say that these boys are lax in their stage presence !! Keep bringing it !!

Marcus is a young Stephen Fry.
Oh. My. Gosh. Seriously this is my favorite song from their album. I'd love to see them live someday!
What you heard is what you get on the album, just four guys playing great music with real instruments, no Autotone crap here!
So much passion in their music.... Pure talent. Mumford and Sons
Okay but what *CAN'T* Marcus do
AJ Hutchinson be bad at singing 😊
My family went to California from the dust bowl. My Granny told me all the stories. I can relate. This song moved my soul. Thank you.
I'd hate to have to follow this performance...
how can you dislike raw talen, engergy, sorrow, aggression, and just pure passion, its honestly bewilders me
Fucking AMAZING
It's crazy how much power, and emotion he puts into his singing... After every song, he just looks exhausted!
Marcus should stop eating his own CD
😂😂
so great song, drums and vocals at the same time, and a song like this, should be awarded, acoustically good..
What a shame that One Direction basically stole this song with that "Story of My Life" nonsense.
True it is a shame for this song!
How so?
they are the best band ever, love them and I had the honor to see them life twice already, and within 2 weeks i'm going to see them live for the third time in one year! Lucky me!
Second verse reminds me of capitalism and its fall.
Also, they're a bunch of mad scientist I tell you.
That intensity always gets to me every single time!
And now look what a mainstream shit they make now :( The first and second Album were just perfect and then comes a U2 Cover
then gtfo
I am sure they are devastated....losing such a loyal fan! lmao
It's good for a band to show that they can change instead of making the same kind of stuff over and over, and besides it must get boring, no?
What unbelievable talent, just gets better and better the more times it gets watched
This is absolutely their best song. It just gets better as it goes until it completely explodes. Fantastic.
They are the BEST.... I wish i could only see them live!! I think i'd pass out from excitement...
The amount of emotion in this song is unbelievable and unrivaled by any other song I have ever heard.
You know when you listen to a song and your hairs stand on end? this happened to me driving yesterday with this song!! but it was 100x more powerful than the normal hairs on end!! amazing feeling!! thank you!!

This is truly amazing, such a good band ! Mumford and sons are an unique band, there's so much passion in their songs!
it's powerful enough just watching and listening them play this on youtube... to be able to actually play this yourself must be sublime, sir, sublime!
saw them in Dixon, IL last weekend...Best. Concert. Ever!
This video sums up just how much they've grown. If you listen to this song played live now it seems to have so much more to it. I love them so much its ridiculous. Marcus' little wave and scurry off at the end is so cute ^_^
this song and Broken Crown!! just the beautiful anger of these songs is amazing!!
I've never been to a Mumford and Sons concert before, but if I ever do, this song will complete my day!
I am seriously in love with this performance.
This is a really great version of this song! the way the band breaks down near the end; it just goes with the message of the music.
what a good sight. a band who actually puts emotion into their music. gotta love these guys
this is the first time i've heard this song
it made me love them even more
and the maccabees played after them, holy dang
what an awesome concert
The voice is so epic, the drum beat at the end sounds so cool, the song is so amazing...
I have literally never seen a better performance/more talented group as I did with Mumford and Sons yesterday
one of the most soulful performances on youtube. breathtaking.
Simply awesome. What a band. Destined for really great things.
I love the amount of emotion in this song, and they performed it really well live
This song is amazing! It has such a great story to it and meaning! Not to mention the emotion in their voices! Love these guys! They r so different from every other band these days! Fantastic
this song is great. it covers all emotions, its beautiful and evolves into a beast. more songs should be like this.
fantastic song. my favorite by them. also, i think the video was well shot, and very well edited, despite t not-the-best cameras. thank you mumford and sons for the song, and alexanderjpowell for posting the video.
WOW!! Theys guys are amazing!Never heard them before today.Great music, great lyrics .
Stunning performance. Mumford and Sons are amazing.
This is just such an amazing band. You can really see how they enjoy playing their music.
ughhh marcus is absolutely adorable. and ted is just pure class. such a lovely band :) they all shine.
Amazing song...One of the best bands to see live!!

oh my dang. so good. I find I favorite all the live videos of these guys because all of them are pure amazingness.
These guys are so AMAZING, their lyrics are actually real and they know how to rock! :D
Could listen to Mumford and Sons all day :)
