Christmas in July! Cool! Dickens is the best any time of year. I read it every year since I'm in my teens. Don't ask me how many years that's been. 👀 🎄🙂
I read A Christmas Carol (or listen to the Tim Curry narration on Audible) every December. I love it so much! I've also been to The Shakespeare Tavern in Atlanta a few times to see their play that they perform every December. Again, I love it so much! ❤ (And The Muppet Christmas Carol is my favorite holiday movie.)
My favorite movie adaptation was George C. Scott's version. I believe it's simply because it brings back childhood memories of watching it with my stepdad, who's died 2 years ago, and I don't have many positive childhood memories. I even wish that I knew where the VHS that we had recorded, is- '80s commercials, and all! I'd give anything to have those moments in time back. Kind of like your nostalgia to To Kill a Mockingbird.
oh i love A Christmas Carol! i haven't read the physical copy the whole way thru but ive listened to the audiobook. my favorite movie version sd of course, Muppets Christmas Carol w/ Michael Caine, but i will watch whatever version comes on tv EXCEPT for the Keley Grammer one! that one was atrocious. in 2019 there was a mini series that was very very good, it was on FX but now its on hulu, disney + and prime.
I have yet to find a book that I didn’t like i didn’t like more than the movie.movie. Books always give you a more personal way to connect to the characters that movies just can’t. Me and my daughters read the twilight series and a personal part that they left out was Bella cooking for her dad because he ate at the diner all time and that was big part of them reconnecting. My girls as high schoolers were disappointed about that. I don’t think any of the movies can compare with the book. We enjoyed the movies too. It just wasn’t the same.

My very favorite version of the movie is The Muppet Christmas Carol 😂 I’m 38 and I still watch it every single year!
