- Let's explore some more maps of Austria-Hungary, its centres and periphery and of course railway connections!
This video is educational ASMR intended for sleep and relaxation and features a soft spoken voice, plus pointing and tracing as visual component.
The maps are from the Hölzel Universalatlas.

Your knowledge of geography and history is impressive and mind boggling. Your ASMR sense is over the top. Please don’t ever stop doing what you do.
Ahaha it might seem like that because you can't see me as I frantically scroll through Wikipedia articles half an hour before we start filming 🤭 No but thank you, I'm very happy that I get to share these little explorations with such a lovely and interested audience! You're very kind :)
I do a lot of genealogy in my free time, so i look at a lot of censuses (from the US), and it's really interesting to see how ppl from Eastern Europe defined where they were from over the years. The different ways ppl had to describe being from Poland is especially interesting to me, bc of course Poland didn't exist for many years, so ppl would say "Polish Austrian" "Polish German" "Polish Russian", and I think I've seen "Polish Bohemian" and "Polish Galician". Just thought you might find that interesting!
Oooh, I do find that interesting. How cool that you have access to that data! What time frames do you usually look at?
Another interesting and enjoyable journey - Thanks. The Austro-Hungarian influence shaped central Europe for a long time and experienced big, radical changes throughout its history. Seems to me a lot of areas previously attached to it still have those cultural influences that will play out as this region evolves over time. Look forward to your next installment on its southern most regions.
Hey you :) That's so true - though sadly a lot of the connections got severed and many of these places felt very distant when I was growing up. So I'm learning a lot of new things with these videos as well 😊 Hope you're well!
@@MelangeASMR All very well Thanks. Stuck down here on this little island for now unable to go anywhere else. But live well and enjoy what's on offer. Your ASMR keeps me interested in many of the places I like and want to explore again - very, very soothing. ☺
I think it’s cool that your nails are always done a different color! Huge fan of these educational ASMR videos. You are very knowledgeable!
I'm glad I've finally found a reason to have a big nail polish collection haha. And it's wonderful to hear you enjoy these videos, thank you so much!
I love that just speak softly without the long drawn out whispers. It's much more natural. Many artists lose that. Thank you. And your nails always look great.
Hey there! I'm very happy to hear my style works for you. I often get the impression that whispers are a bit more popular, but yeah, it can get a little intense haha. Thank you :)
I agree. Melange Asmr's whisper effect is just right. Too much & it sounds to me like hissing.
This is such a good map. This is my second watch since I fell asleep quite quickly the first time 😅
Yaaaaay as it should be!!
I have always loved maps. Your voice along with these Wonderful maps and your beautiful hands make for a very tingle filled experience. Great video, you really hit all of my triggers.
💖💖💖
Wonderful video as always! Love that you are still rocking the yellow nails and blue shirt 💛💙
Thank you, Isabelle! Btw I'll use your wonderful map in a video next month, I'm super excited about it!! 🌻🌻
@@MelangeASMR that’s going to be so cool for me to see that 😀
Really enjoyed your previous Austro-Hungary video, can't wait to listen to this one later!
Oh, I hope it'll live up to the expectations! Thank you 😊
Another wonderful video. And you are almost to 40K subscribers! So exciting. I'm glad people are discovering you and your wonderful videos!!
Thank you! I still can't believe that I have a city worth of subscribers, it's just.... how even?
My mother adores maps, i think I must've inherited her fascination haha. These videos are always a joy.
Ahaha if it's genetic, we must have a common ancestor! thank you so much :)
I'm so grateful for your channel. I love your voice and camera work. Well done :)
Thai is so nice to hear, thank you, Michael! 🧡
Only just discovered your channel. Wow fantastic stuff History is my passion and with ASMR too you're my new favourite! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much 🥰

It's shown as Pozsony on this map, which is the hungarian name for bratislava
It makes sense, since slovakia was part of transleithanien but i still am curious why it is not highlighted as a more important city
Aah thank you, I'm used to seeing Pressburg on older maps, but it's unusual to find the name in Hungarian.
This is my new favorite asmr channel!!
💖💖
Me relajo y aprendo al mismo tiempo. ¡Muchas gracias por hacer este contenido!
My pleasure! Thank you for watching 💛
Complex history ! Lovely atlas and great content.
The atlas definitely was one of the best purchases I've made recently. I think it's the regular school atlas, but I don't remember mine being that great.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you :)
I find these histories fascinating as we don't get taught anything about Austria-Hungary in school here (UK). In terms of Europe, we get the World Wars (where the focus is on the UK's relationship with Germany) and the French with the Napoleonic Wars, French Revolution and Hundred Years War. Even Spain gets a look in with the Spanish Armada but basically nothing on the Habsburgs despite how influential they are in the early modern period...
Thank you, Mike! It's pretty much the same here, though with the bizarre bonus that Eastern Europe played a very minor role in our education, despite the Habsburg history. We went through the Frankish middle ages about 3 times though 😅
@@MelangeASMR "No Habsburgs before you finish your Charlemagne!!"
haha yeah pretty much!
Love your videos!
Thank you Nathan 😊
Hi melange! I’m just relaxing eating my apple strudel and sipping a cup of hot Belgian chocolate whilst watching your latest which I find absolutely fascinating!
Teddy, that sounds dreamy! Now I really want some Apfelstrudel and a hot cocoa too haha
Bratislava is right next to Vienna, its called ''Pozsony'' on the map. The name Bratislava was made up in the 1900s when it later became part of Czehoslovakia. For Germans/Austrians it was called ''Pressburg''.
Liebe Melange! Durch Zufall bin ich auf deine Videos gestoßen und bin ganz begeistert.
Ganz liebe Grüße aus Linz ❤
Oh, das freut mich sehr! Liebe Grüße zurück ins schöne Oberösterreich 🥰
Excellent ASMR video on the old Habsburg Dual Monarchy! The town of Budweis in Bohemia inspired Adolphus Busch and Carl Conrad in 1876 to make a Bohemian-style lager here in the U.S., known today as Budweiser!
Ah I was wondering why there's an American Budweiser! We get a Czech beer that had to change its name to Budvar a couple years ago. It's really good, though! I'd be curious to compare the two haha.
You had mentioned a while back about an Ottoman Empire video. Is that still coming?
Yes, tomorrow!
I wish you could do a French language history and history of Indo European languages history with why not a languages family tree 🥰
I will probably do French in April and then keep working my way through various languages and language trees over time :)
Vienna without the empire is like a head without a body
A hydrocephalus, as the saying goes 😅
I'm always dazzled by your intelligence
That's very sweet, but it's mostly Wikipedia research!! 💜💜
