AlNiCo pickups and Half Rounds / Flat Wounds strings or low carbon strings such as Dean Markley Signature or even Nickel strings would give you a super warm sound.I could continue on with specs and technicality but well, now I want listen :)

I’m interested in making music like this, I’ve got my eyes on the attack decay pedal from electro-harmonix. I know you’ve featured it before, my budget is around $130 and I’ve never used a pedal before, I’m still fairly new to the guitar scene and most of my experience so far has been through digital pedals and other PC tools like Rocksmith. I’m looking to start making more “real” music and I really like this sound. It isn’t too intense or fast and I really like the overall sound to it. Do you think that pedal would be good enough for that?

What I do (and a lot of other ambient guitarists do) is skip the amp altogether and go directly in to the interface when recording. For example, I go out of my reverb pedal, which is the last pedal in my signal chain, right into the input on my interface. It makes for a very clean sound. For many applications, an amp is a better way to go, but for super clean sound, you might try going right into the interface.

I tried doing the thing you do at 24:00 with my strat, ebow, etc. But it only reads notes (at all, let alone sensitively enough to read it from a quick pass by) if the unit is properly set up on the strings.
My ebow is black, though; is yours a special model?
Hey Stephen - I just have a standard EBow. I cover a little bit of the arpeggio technique in my EBow tutorial video: ua-cam.com/video/Z--TKWFPn9g/v-deo.html - Turn your pickup selector to the neck pickup and hold the EBow over the pickup to generate a stronger signal.

It's a loop I think the core piece was about 25 minutes long.

Im sure its not a loop. I do guitar seshes for hours n hours just noise sometimes endlessly neighbors hate it. But then i go from chaos to angelic sounds like this then it goes dark again..
