I have just started diamond painting and I am really enjoying it. I have just finished one from a photo I took, and it's turned out great. My son lost his cat a few months ago, and I have just sent a pic of his cat just waiting for it to arrive to get started on it. It is a lovely way to remember, dear joey, the cat😊
Hello and welcome to the diamond painting community! I am so sorry for son's loss. I think diamond painting a custom portrait is a lovely way to remember sweet Joey 💗
Ok, that is flat out BRILLIANT! I have never heard this before and it appeals to my 50% Scottish heart with the simple frugality of it. 🤣 This just makes so much sense on every level, but especially for people like myself who live in really remote towns where we have only two stores. This is truly a genius idea that has literally been staring us all in the face, yet we completely missed it!
Thank you, @chrisgreek ! For me, being overwhelmed is where this idea came from and that it drives me nuts that washi doesn't stay put. I'm a long-time crafter too, so we waste nothing, lol. I have so many ideas for that film once we are done with it. Stay tuned 😉😎
@@ElisaMariaDesigns I will be waiting to see your ideas as I have been a crafter all my life! There were two things that were always in our Christmas stockings and Easter baskets: books and craft kits or supplies. This tradition was carried on with our children and then again with our grandchildren! I now know that providing these items - especially during the gruesome Canadian weather months - can help keep kids engaged in something worthwhile. I am now 60, but that crafting bug has never left me….. except for embroidery and cruel…. erm, crewel. Right now I have been filling in the days that I can’t diamond paint with knitting (my health is, as one of my doctors calls it “challenging”), so I have been churning out dishcloths for my three daughters (one by birth and two by our sons having excellent taste) and am now making myself some little white face washcloths as I like to have a clean one each morning and night, and yes, I know I’m a little Type A! 🤣 One frugal tip that I picked up was when knitting or crocheting to save all the clippings from ends that you weave in and use them for stuffing in plush toys. My mother did something different, but similar. When one of our Teddy’s sprang a leak, she would use pantyhose that had runs in them. I believe my favourite teddy bear - which I still have - is now 95% used clean pantyhose! 😝
@chrisgreek4285 I would have loved growing up in your family. No one was crafty, and I went to catholic school, so the arts just were not part of the curriculum. I was so hungry to do anything creative but with no direction other than coloring and chalk, I had no options. One day, my dad asked me if I wanted to make a nickel, and I excitedly said, yes. So he told me to go to the corner store and get a newspaper, and I ran to the corner, thinking the instructions to make a nickel were inside that newspaper. They gave me a quarter. I gave him back fifteen cents change to which he gave me a nickel. And I looked at him puzzled, where are the instructions I asked. And he looked at me puzzled, lol and said, what are you talking about? How to make a nickel I answered. Oh elisa he sighed, Probably thinking quietly to himself.I hope this one marries rich. 😆😆😆 I love crochet. I have a bathroom full of washcloths. And to Maybe put out into the universe that I'd like to be a grandmother 😆 I started to crochet baby afghans, but my son's not having it. 😆 At 38 still not ready for kids! Yes, we old time crafters, scrap everything and use everything!
Do you not do the same cutting of the plastic cover to make the invisible washi tape for the top & bottom of the canvas? Way off topic, but I love your t-shirt! 😻
@catgranny Hello! Yes, I go all the way around, but I just did the bottom as a demo. Thank you. I get so many people asking me where I got my pho eating cat, 😹 👕 T-shirt ...TEMU ❤️

My 22 year old cat loving, ramen loving son would adore that shirt!
That shirt is so loved! Temu has them and different styles too. ❤️😺🍜
