Awesome video. Back in the '70's I do not recall Aguas Calientes being so developed. Mostly set up for backpacks IIRC. We were picked up at the train station by bus and taken to the Peruviàn tourist hotel; now the Belmond Lodge. That night I was able to wander the ruins after the tourists departed and into the evening after the site "closed". After dark we could see the lights from hikers climbing Huayna Picchu. The next day my father and I climbed Huayna Picchu, to the Templo de la Luna àt the top. In places the steps were well worn and only 12" wide blocks of stone, so you would climb on your hands and knees with a rusty cable attached to the mountain to hold on from a pretty sheer drop. On the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, local kids would run down the steps between the swithbacks, standing beside the road waiving to the departing tourists at each switchback. They would chase the bus to the train station and collect change.
That sounds like such a fun experience! I can only imagine seeing Machu Picchu under the stars. And seriously, hiking Huayna Picchu at night?! That's super crazy!! Thanks for sharing your story. I really enjoyed reading that. -Brian
Every video that you put out is amazing and you share with us what people like me will never be able to experience. It's been a minute since you put one on here so I know you're a busy man. But always always look forward to your videos and your explanation of things and of course the beauty! Thank you again for sharing I hope the family is well. Of course I will have to go back and watch this a time or two because I always miss something LOL. Again, thank you and God bless.
Super busy. Thanks for your patience! Life is great though and we have so many more adventures to share. Thank you so much for your support, Denise. It really means the world to us. We hope you're doing well, too. -Brian
Thank you for this great video! Can feel the excitement through screen 😄 it would probably be better if there are more explanation for each site. it was still a great virtual travel experience 😊
Yeah, honestly I didn't even know much about each site until i went through it with the tour guide, and even then I feel like there was so much more to learn. I was just thrilled to be there experiencing it. I hope you get to go sometime.
Yeah, there are so many drop-offs and steep cliffs. It may not be the best place for people with vertigo. Especially not the Inca Bridge trail. Thanks for watching! Hopefully the video wasn't too much for you. -Brian
Hello ! What a lovely place ! Thanks for having us visit whit you ! Incredible ...all those rocks that were used to built this place ! 😲 Always living in hills ...they must of been in shape ! ATB Hélène et Serge 💑 De Boisbriand Québec 👍😉🏔🎥
We were talking about that too. They all must have been so fit! We took over 30,000 steps this day and a ton of them were up stairs. I can't imagine having to do that every day. -Brian
Thanks Brian ! Would be the kind of place I would like to see but my wife couldn’t walk the stairs because she has a sore knee. But last year we did a 84 days road trip starting from our home in Boisbriand Quebec to the Canadian Rockies and western United States . If ever you are curious come and take a look .i am only half way on editing. Have a nice day and until the next one M Hélène et Serge 💑 👍😉🎥🏔
We've explored a little bit of the Canadian Rockies (Banff and a little bit of Jasper) and it is gorgeous! I bet that was an amazing road trip. Hopefully you're loving the edit as much as the actual experience. It's always fun for me to relive the moments as I edit them. -Brian
Perfect Little Planet Yes it’s like you said ...I started to live the trip during the planning and then doing it after when editing and also again when you look at the final result whit someone in my case my wife . Have a nice week and until the next one ! Hélène et Serge 💑
You never mentioned it but I heard you breathing hard most of the time - even though it's 'only' 8,000 feet, any attempt at exertion and you can tell there just isn't as much oxygen as we're used to! (And Cusco at 13,000 feet is even worse!) And no, they really aren't that big on safety railings, are they? ;-)
Oh, and here was our magic moment: Just after shooting a time lapse video of sunrise over Machu Picchu from near the guardhouse, we came across a baby lama that had just been born! ua-cam.com/video/EfwEt0FeAr0/v-deo.html
Yeah, we spent a lot of time at high elevation. I actually went for a run in Cusco and was surprised I survived, and then we did a hike on an island in Lake Titicaca that was even higher than Cusco!
Yes. You can buy them the morning you go up (the office opens at 5am) but I suggest buying them the day before, when you first arrive in Aguas Calientes (it closes at 9pm). There will be no line at the office if you get them in the afternoon the day before. The morning line can be long, especially during high season.
With my health condition.. I could not walk very long and I try to vacanza holiday for a week at Uscio Avegno.. those starirs I could not walk well.. because of operation chirurgico give me.. You are fortune to see these things of mountain civilization.. Most University School is doing visit is place..
Yes, I consider myself very fortunate to be able to visit amazing places such as this. I hope your health improves so that you can visit and walk these stairs someday, too.

You're welcome. Glad it was useful!

Love this! Thank you! I just got back from Peru myself and posted videos. Peru is amazing!
Glad you were able to go. I didn't realize Machu Picchu was open already from the pandemic. Was it a lot less busy than normal?
A lot less busy. 50% capacity. The sun gate wasn't open yet, but I think opened in June.
That's phenomenal indeed ❤❤
Such an amazing place!
Now I really want to go someday, awesome video , Thank you !

Hermoso Machu Picchu.
Sí. Es aún más hermoso en persona.

Totally. This place is absolutely beautiful. -Brian
Goodness, what a beautiful view, But am glad there are such videos so you get to see what it takes to get there. Too much hiking for my liking though
Happy to share it with you, especially now that it's closed due to Covid for the foreseeable future. This is the _only_ way to see it. -Brian
Love this❤
Thanks so much!
I’ve never clicked on a video so fast! Lol
I hope you liked it!
First comment . I wanna thank God my mom
I'm so proud of you. I know you've worked so hard to get here. Enjoy this moment! :)
Ours wonder of earth
For real. This place is straight out of a dream.
It should have a flag trail.. for roadway to go.. I saw it in picture of documentary enciclopedia..
It might. There were a lot of trails I didn't go on, including the 4-day hike on the Inca Trail that starts by Ollantaytambo.
How beautiful & scary at the same time...hope you didn't get altitude sickness. 😨
I was really fortunate to not be affected at all by the altitude. I saw a few others in our group that did not do as well. :(

Can you buy bus tickets from the bus station ?

There will be no line at the office if you get them in the afternoon the day before. The morning line can be long, especially during high season.
Tip 1. Plan a trip to Machu Pichuu only if you are physically fit and unafraid of heights. Otherwise just travel via UA-cam like the rest of us!
Yes. A fear of heights or poor fitness will definitely have a negative effect on your visit. Good tip.
5AM??!! In morning?!
It seem,, Filipine map is used into..
Travel Bus.. Shuttle Bus..
Yeah, Machu Picchu is all about being up before the sunrise.
I want to invite you to visit the beautiful sites and monuments of India

The Philippines has such beautiful landscapes!
Philippines generation is Mountain Civilization.. its about Mountain and Falls Landscape..
Great to see Murr's life without Sal, Joe, & Q lol. Great sites btw.
Haha, gotta do something to keep busy, you know. :) Thanks 👍
Probably is Conecticut mountain..
Ruined by Revolution War of Alvisse..
Very confused at this comment. I grew up in Connecticut. I can assure you it does not have mountains.
Hey bro, you seem like a really nice and respectful guy. Are you a Christian?
Hi, thank you. Yes I am. :)

Yes. Very much so. Best to learn from our mistakes. 🙄
