10 years ago I watched ladies figure skating rather than men's, but nowadays I love watching men's figure skating because of Yuzuru Hanyu. He's very stunning and charming!!!
I was just thinking about that too the other day. I also used to be way more interested in ladies' than men's. Now it's totally other way around. And I think they used to air ladies at the last. Now men's at the last because people are more interested in men's and that's because of Yuzuru just like you are saying!
I have to say I am the same. I always thought ladies had the most breathtaking performances even though mens were more difficult... can't say that anymore though.
USA LOL... They wish! I adored the enterview, he is just becoming better and better. I can never get tired. He put me into the sport, he has make it evolve. He is evolution, certainly he can just make it better and better.
He is "speaking" to the world by his skating, which is an art work, like any opera or musical show in a theater. That is why people watching him performing with music and skating are really and truthfully moved. In his skating, no interpreter is necessary.
Yea the same happens to me too. Yuzuru really has something special that's delivered in his skating and something that's beyond his skating. Before knowing him somehow I already gave up on all the hopes possibilities in my life. I'm like a living dead. But he lightened up my life and inspired me by how he carried himself as an athlete and as a human being. I started making small little positive changes in my life. Even when I failed I would give myself another chance. Every time when I failed I just thought of how he fell and got up again. He's so special. I want to thank him for being the amazing person that he is. May all the happiness comes to him
Yuzu's English comprehension and vocabulary have improved so much. You can see he's able to form more complex sentences here. Produ of him. Always learning
The best part of Yuzu is that he stays humble despite being the GOAT. He always gives credit to his coaches, always thanks his fans, always encourages his fellow skaters. And always always shows us what skating is really about- art AND skill, jumps AND movement/expression. Skating tends to lean to the technical at times these days, but Yuzuru didn't become the GOAT just by jumping (though he still has the worlds best 3A)
Yuzuru's quads are of the best quality too. Airy and light, effortless, difficult entry and good speed at exit, fluid transition with minimal loading time. Along with "Triple axel out of nowhere", "Textbook perfect quads" is the most commonly heard comment from the commentators during Yuzuru's program. The only thing is that his consistency with landing quads is relatively lower than some other skaters because he doesn't want to compromise the artistry part by removing the difficult entry. Otherwise I've not seen anyone doing quads better than he does.
His skating definitely speaks to everyone all across the world. Even little me all the way from Malaysia. Really wish he'll have a great season. Have fun and stay healthy, Yuzu!
