Congratulations! This’s legendary Cannondale frame geometry, they have it for all disciplines and even in aluminium frame. As everything it has pluses and cons. Plus is that because of a tall frame it’s very responsive to your pedal strokes, and it’s very fast. Minus is in the control department on technical stages. I think you will be fine with 42T while 40T might slightly wouldn’t have been enough.
You were right to go for it and treat yourself, grabbing the opportunity to buy this gorgeous bike which is going to bring you so much joy and well being. About removing sticker residue, I find that a bit of cooking oil works really well. Start rubbing with your fingers and nails, then fnish with some paper towel steady scrubbing. It has always worked for me, usually with a bit of olive oil !
Thanks for your suggestion! Definitely glad I pulled the trigger. Can't beat this deal and maybe not as many closeout deals next year once the bike companies fix their overstocking issues
Nice bike, I've always wanted a Cannondale I sold my road bike and went one bike with my 2023 Ibis Hakka MX, very much like that EVO CX except with much larger tires stock built for 1X Monstercross (MX). Such a great do it all bike that I had to sell my Cervelo because the Hakka was the same weight even with the gravel tires! I like 2X for pure road efficiency, but anything offroad where I'm getting mud and dust in the front crank and derailleur I prefer 1X. It's just a simpler setup that satisfies my urban fixed gear 1X1 mindset.
As far as tubeless tips. Cleaning and taping is 85% of the battle. Make sure the rim is clean, mostly at the bead shoulders. Lay a smooth tape job. Depending on the tape, it may be stretch activated so make sure its taught. Use a smooth tire lever to press it down in the bead shoulders if needed. Dont throw away the hard strip. People incorrectly always say to remove it, but its important as it helps fill the center well so your tape doesnt get pulled down there (and away from the shoulder where it needs to be) when you are pulling tight. Don't do that mess people do with gorilla tape. Yes it can work. But it also absorbs sealant. And it leaves horrible glue gunk you will play hell to clean out when you retape before next season. Also you will be surprised how many bike shops don't know what theyre doing with tubeless. I've heard mechanics say tape only needs to be wide enough to fill the spoke line. No, it needs to seal the shoulder at the tire bead. Thats why WTB has specific tape widths for rim width on their products. Had one tell me he gorilla tapes customer rims. No shop should be doing hacks.. If you're having trouble getting a tire to seat, soapy water helps. You can also set them up with tubes and go for a ride around the neighborhood to help break in new tires before setting tubeless. A high flow floor pump is usually enough to seat. But an Airshot tank makes life a million times easier. Only tires I needed it to seat were some American Classics, which are low quality so it was half expected (they also all leaked due to defects at the rubber application sites). Muck-off valves suck. Avoid them. They clog constantly. Stan's valves arent fancy but they always work. Dont clog. Orange seal is everyone's favorite for a reason. (Silca is overrated and only beneficial for road bikes). I've never had any performance difference with WTB, Stan's, or Muc-off tape. Stan's is probably the easiest to apply though. A cheap sealant syringe makes life easier. Seat tire, remove core, inject sealant through valve, inflate (this is why Silca sealant is overrated, it will clog the valve if you try to inject it).
Got surprised when they announced your name, your Cruise ha the revelation hence the channel name, but congratz man and keep on. Good deal on the bike too
You asked about tires for gravel riding. I'm using Panaracer GravelKing SK+. They're tubeless. I rode them 58km this morning. Thanks for the kudos. I really appreciate their grip, their durability, and their low rolling resistance. Which is not to say they're suitable for CX. My GravelKings will need to be replaced soon. I want to go knobbier, thinking CX tires, but hard to find tubeless CX tires in Thailand. I will see what Vittoria offers here.
Great bike and really glad to see you getting back into racing and looking forward to race videos and damn boy, won your first race! Outstanding!. Your wife was doing pretty good in Japan as well so maybe she'll get back into it. I assume the new bike is carbon fiber. I have 4 carbon fiber bikes. 3 old and one a bit newer. Had an aluminum frame Cannondale many years ago and it was a rough ride. Still have the stripped frame hanging in the garage. Still prefer double chain rings for road anyway. I like more gears. Also not a fan of all the cables routed through the frame. I like to be able to easily work on and maintain all the components.
I run 1 X on my cyclocross now (40 tooth in the front and 11/36 cassette), it works well. My next will probably have 46/33T tooth in the front for running more gravel in offseason. I run tubeless for training but for racing always glued tubulars.
Pleased that a good deal on a brand that I’ve been aware of for over 30 years!as you know I’m a trek liker with the gravel roads in Michigan I’m looking forward to upcoming u tubs I’ve also heard Michigan many lakes. is their any good paved trials ?can you find time in future to show us a good paved trial enjoyed thuong latest u tub she does so well in u tubs I am giving Em Thuong 5 stars!
Yes, there are a few paved rail trails. The ones I know of are a bit further away from me now, but there are more light gravel rail trails too which are smooth enough for road bike
I've been trying to find a good starting road bike and the super six is out of my price range, but could the super six evo cx make a good road bike still? With different tires of course
The cannondale supersix evo se would be more suitable bike for you since it is already geared for road condition. You might need to change tyres to go faster. The only disadvantage is that if you want a second set of wheels you might need to take it lo local bike shop to redish.
Sweet bike For cyclocross, don't you need two of them (for muddy races).. with 2+ sets of race wheels, ..and a variety of tires for different conditions? 😅😵💫💸💸💸💸 I'm joking, but kind of not joking

Thanks! I'm already lacking in the technical control department, so the bike will fit me perfectly haha 😂
Congrats for the new bike :D
Congratulations Cruise! Happy for your success and achievements 🚵♂️🚲👏
Thank you!
Schmancy!
Good to see you'll be racing again.
Very excited to race again!
glad the cyclocross series will be back!! i loved the racing videos back when you were still racing in japan!
Me too! Can't wait 😁
New bike shirt! Congrats Cruise. Happy cycling!
Thanks! 😀
So excited to see those racing videos again man! I've never tried the cx model before but the normal supersix evo is a beast, hope you enjoy it!
I've heard really good things, glad to finally be able to try out a Supersix evo
NICE! I used to commute on a CAAD 8 cx bike. I’ll be following your races for sure 👍
congrats! wanted to say that 40/11 seems kinda low for racing but your win proved me wrong i guess.. have a great season!
Should be fine for CX, but yeah a bit low for gravel racing. Luckily the race was an uphill finish

Nice bike and congratulations on the win Cruise. If my memory serves me correctly Thuong won a CX race at her very first attempt in Japan.
Thanks! She almost did, she was on the podium though. Might have won if she was on a CX bike instead of heavy MTB
Really cool bike Cruise. Good buy. I especially love the classic sram force and Cannondale spider crank look. Also love the tire clearance! Enjoy!!!
Thanks! It's a really nice stock build
Wow!!! New bike day. A happier day even from birthday 😅. Coz birthday comes every year, new bike day is so rare 😂
Haha true and close to my birthday now so I guess this will be my birthday present to myself 😅
Congrats with the new bike. I like one by on mountain bikes. I prefer a two by on road bikes. Can't wait to see you both cycling in USA. 👍😀
Thanks! Looking forward to Thuong being here too
Congratulations! You look like a kid on Christmas Day.
😁

That bike was very high on my list, but got a better deal with this Cannondale with the close out sale

Wow, thanks for sharing all of your insight! Installing tubeless will be a first for me, so I appreciate the tip!
Got surprised when they announced your name, your Cruise ha the revelation hence the channel name, but congratz man and keep on. Good deal on the bike too
Thanks! 😀 And yep, my actual name is Cruise
Nice bike!
Thanks!

Love your new bike, btw. Jealous!
In Thailand only road bikes rule.
Thanks for your suggestion Laurence! Yeah, I bet there's not too many places selling those tires there.

Wish they release CAAD version of that
niceee ride !!!

Yeah, 1x seems like it will work good for cross, but definitely want the extra gears for gravel.

Do you know the hub type for the bike please ?
nice bike !
Thanks! 😀
It looks like your front tire direction is backwards. The arrows should be facing forward, no?
Yeah, I noticed that too... Don't know how that happened, but I swapped on some gravel tires to save these ones for CX season anyway
I've been trying to find a good starting road bike and the super six is out of my price range, but could the super six evo cx make a good road bike still? With different tires of course
Yes, it definitely could work as a solid road bike. You just would need to put either a larger chainring or double on for better gear range.
The cannondale supersix evo se would be more suitable bike for you since it is already geared for road condition. You might need to change tyres to go faster. The only disadvantage is that if you want a second set of wheels you might need to take it lo local bike shop to redish.
@@bexilford2 Yeah, SE is better stock setup for road, but it's the same frame and the CX version is way cheaper right now.
You can mix and match, you can put the 2x Shimano GRX from your gravel bike!!!🔥🔥🔥
Good idea! Not sure if the crank is compatible though since I think this frame requires a specific type of crank
🎉🥳CONGRATS on NEW bike day!🥳🎉 Is it me or is the front tire on backwards?
Thanks! Yeah, don't know how that happened, but I changed the tire out anyway for now
Sleekest machine on the channel in a while! Get those gift baskets!
Yeah, this thing is no joke... Gift basket full of beer 😂
Alcohol works well on stickers residue.
What kind of alcohol?
Thanks, bought some and it worked well
@@NikkenMagboy pharmacy alcohol
Bloody hell, how many bikes are u buying?!
This is only the 2nd one
Been accumulating bikes, but this is only the 2nd one we've bought. And both bikes we bought were 30-40% off closeout sales
3 new bikes in a month lol!!!
I've been holding myself back the last few years living in a tiny apartment. N+1 game is on now that we have a place to put them! 😂
You might enjoy watching some race videos by Tony Fawcett on his "Nowt Daft" YT channel. He races CX over in England (and works for Scott Bikes).
Thanks for your suggestion. Gonna my tricky filming these CX videos until my cameraman arrives 😂
@@TwoWheelCruise Tony is _hilarious_ - I think you'll enjoy his videos, even the non-race ones.
Thoung will need a cowbell for your races!
YES! Too bad we don't have any leftover from Tokai CX in Japan
Sweet bike
For cyclocross, don't you need two of them (for muddy races).. with 2+ sets of race wheels, ..and a variety of tires for different conditions?
😅😵💫💸💸💸💸
I'm joking, but kind of not joking
Ideally, yes 😂 Hopefully we don't have too many muddy races, but at least I should be able to use a gravel bike as a pit bike
