Thank you so much! It's incredibly motivating to read comments like this! Which topics/videos did you most like? Is it journaling? Book reviews or other? :)

@@VashikArmenikus I enjoy the journaling and stoicism videos. The book videos are also great. You mentioned books I have never heard of and now am very interested in. It's also fantastic to see you use a commonplace book.

Those are very helpful suggestions---thanks for making that productive connection between the practices of art curation and organizing private libraries!

I'm glad you enjoyed the parallel between the two. It helped me a lot to see my library as a curated place, instead of neatly organised mess :)

I really like your idea on doing an inventory of books in storage. I have very limited shelf space so I might need to try this

This is the eternal struggle of every passionate reader who doesn’t own a mansion : where else can I put my books ? 😂

If you have lots of books and your small home is bursting with books, as mine is, you are lucky if you can find room to accommodate them on shelves. How many people have enough room to present an exhibition of their books? It often occurs to me that my living room is closer to a museum than a home, though many interesting objects that I own are out of sight. If I want to show them to a visitor I have to extract them carefully and put them away carefully before something gets damaged. The V and A has acres of space in which to show things - lucky them! And why exhibit your books anyway? Surely books are mainly for reading, are they not? What would be the point of an exhibition in a private home? The books would just be gathering dust while a tiny handful of visitors looked at them. I agree that how huge museums and libraries manage their collections is very interesting, but it's hardly relevant to the average amateur collector or reader.

I tend to give away my books when I’ve read them! Some i regret giving away such as ‘The Myth of Hetrosexual AIDS’ by Michael Fumento. Then i have to buy it back lols. I find it’s never the same to read a book twice so what’s the point to keep it if I’m not an academic but auto didactic.
