I still struggle in many areas. Its so hard to target train when your bird is SO obsessed with you that he doesn't want to be off of your shoulder, finger or head long enough to get started. He also isnt very food motivated which complicates things. Maybe I need to keep looking for the right treat. He loved millet when he was a baby but one day stopped eating it and never did again!
@lyshlysh9970 he is a sweet boy but so far no progress with training. I hate to admit it but I've kind of given up on the training. It's extra hard because I don't have any experience with training. But I love him dearly and he is gentle and loving. He is just a little neurotic and I think training would help him build that confidence he is lacking.
lol I love the animated intro! I just got a rescue budgie so thank you for all the great tips. Idk his history and he's pretty skiddish, but I am giving him all the love and patience and at the very least, a happy safe home.
I'm getting a GCC in about a month, and to get ready for his arrival, I've watched almost all your videos as well as vids from BirdTricks! I've been doing research for the past 2 months and I think I'll be able to give this little guy a good home ❤
I have learned more from you and your flock than everyone else on UA-cam combined. My bird Reepicheep (Parrotlet) thanks you! His mom would be a mess and he would be less confident and much less healthy without your coaching. ❤
My cockatiel Rosie had a crash landing before I got her and she sprained her foot, I suspect it was her first flight and now she’s terrified of movement, she’s not confident stepping on swings, moving while on a hand or other stuff like that, she’s even afraid of flying. I’m hoping to build her confidence, thankfully she’s super food motivated 😂 this video is really helpful thank you!
As far as I’m aware it’s not really possible without an at home extruder and a bit of an expensive setup. You could look in to making your own home made seed mix with sprouting seeds as well if that’s a more financially viable option for you! You may want to consult a vet for advice on what low fat but high nutrient seeds to use as well as the potential need for vitamin supplements though!
One of my lovebirds refuses to go back to his cage after being outside. He used to just come to my finger and let me bring him inside but now he just flies away. Do you have any advice or video on this? He's been with as for 4 months and had started trusting us, but I don't want to make him lose this trust if I have to force him to go back to his cage For reference: he is a pretty small fischer lovebird, 5 years old, gets scared easily. Cage is 87x46x70 centimetres
If you read my comments plz just tell me if you have any experience off clipping parrot wings.whats your advice to me?is it right to clip parrot wings or not ?
My bird was originally clipped. She is now fully winged. I can tell you that they are so much more happy and confident if you let them fly. Life is easier for you as well. Recall train them. And when they fly, they will be tired and happily go to bed.
I make a habit of trying to find one new thing a week to introduce the birds to, so I definitely do it less over time but still enough to upkeep the confidence. I have a video on working with flighty fearful birds called “overcoming fears”!

I have the same problem with my bird. How have things gone with yours?

I cannot thank you enough for your videos. They have all helped my relationships with both my parrots immensely.

I absolutely love this! You’re right no on thinks about confidence building for birds. ❤

Thank you for your knowledge and how you teach. What reward are they getting here

Thank you for the information. It’s very helpful. My bird is very afraid of everything so it’s hard to show him new things. Appall the tips.
I learn a lot of your method

I have a video on teaching birds go fly back to their cage on cue! It’s called “going to bed on cue” which should cover what you need!
@@FlockTalk thank you so much!

Is this something you still do indefinitely, exposing them to new things?
Will you do a video on easily frightened birds?

I have important question.is this right to clip my love bird wings???
Plz tell me is it good or no for me and my love bird?
If the bird is healthy and there is no reason to do it that would benefit the bird them don't do it.
Hard to focus on the subject with a tutor looking THIS pretty!
