The true and original Pares was mami beef chicken or wanton PAIRED with siopao asado or bola bola.. side dish siomai.. kaya nga pares.. pairs.. somehow evolved to what it is today.. beef stew with other viands and friend rice for a heavier and filling meal.. historical proof? Why is it called Jonas Mami House and not Jonas Pares?? One can only surmise that combination Mami and siopao came first before the beef stew fried rice..
