I find it to be a very capable transceiver, with a good reception (if I`m not wrong it has the same circuit as IC-756 PRO II) and good DSP filtering, very pleasant to work. Hope you enjoy it.. Cheers
@@m0kyw115 thank you for the reply, apart from the badges it appears to be the same as the 746 PRO, the DSP noise reduction works well, I do remember playing with the rig when it was new, different ergonomics to my other rigs so I do have to look for things in the menus. It will certainly be used, quite impressed with it, a shack in quite a small box. 73
@@g0fvt Yes, it`s the same as the 746 PRO (which is the US version) that doesn`t have included the EMC Filter on the DC Cable, while the 7400 (which is the EU version) comes with the OPC-639 EMC Filter as Standard .73
@@m0kyw115 absolutely correct about the filter in the cable. Just to annoy me this one has the usual problem with the inverter driving the backlight. Did not light up when I got it, but following a "brown out" while running on a small power supply the radio rebooted with backlight working. Sadly it was not a lasting fluke. I will soon repair it. 73
I have only just connected up one of these that was gifted to me, will see how I get on with it. Seems wicked to relegate it to FT8...
