Very nice! I did the same thing to cut down a 25x25 threading insert holder to fit my BXA tool post. I was too nervous to take cuts as deep as you did!
Inserts are so cheap that I'm only using solid endmills on sizes too small to be inserted or where I need longer flutes. I have a 10mm inserted cutter.
