Source code not available? I won't flash a bin file on a device on my private network where i don't know what is inside the firmware.
It will be available sometime in the future. I offer the source code first to my UA-cam members and Patreons as a perk and to thank them for their support, but eventually I release it :)

Excellent program - ideas for rev 2 (or i can do them after you publish)
1. autoscroll, clear, timestamps like arduino
2. automatically record before web is attached and give you access to that when you attach
3. store that recording in spiffs or littlefs on the 8266
Also, you can just add another wire to +5 to power 8266 from your device if it has power available
I wish you had shown a clear step by step instruction on how to do it. this video was basically a show off. absolutely no detailed instruction whatsoever for anyone, especially noobs, to follow along.

Did you see the news about ESP32-S3 that has native usb and linux kernel that supports CH340 device on that usb port? With that, you would be able to create an usb dongle for the 3d printer that can expose serial over wifi without soldering.

I need help - my unit keeps having GND and TX connected. This only happens when the mini is given power when off they do not have continuity. Do you know how to fix this?

I am not sure what auto refresh you are referring to but the source code is public if you want to do any changes
