I’m from Virginia Beach. I know the area well Have traveled the river to Norfolk many times, and then out through the HRB and back down to Lynnhaven Inlet, where I used to slip the boat good times. I really really enjoy watching you guys. I now live up in Alexandria Virginia. I have a 40 foot Silverton. I keep at the Occoquan. We bought it last year in Solomons and enjoyed that area last year and moved it this summer closer to the house.
something I like about you two is that you explore the areas around your surroundings and spend money for that community ( cocktails here and a feed there) fuel mooring fees it all adds up well done and gee Lynn is a good deckhand so make sure you buy her a cocktail too.
SUGGESTION! OK guys, love your channel. Have watched you since you started. Here's a thought. No one has visited more restaurants, bars, and watering holes on the ICW. You already have the footage. Why not, when you're not traveling, put together a video on your favorite Restaurants, Bars, and Marinas along the ICW? You've always featured them but you never said what your top ten are. Do a separate video on each category and perhaps one on your favorite places to visit?
Just wanna say congrats on living your dream 👍👍 I've been a supporter. Since you first started your journey, I don't comment much but I watch all your content , you both do a awesome job , want to thanks you for all the great videos you put out and all the work and care you put into the videos ,you can tell how happy you both are cruising in your hatteris and enjoying the sites and different places 🙂. Can't wait to see your next video until then have a great night 🙋
Thank you, we appreciate your comments. It is always nice to get good feedback on our videos. We try to improve a little bit each year. Hopefully this years content will be the best yet. Cheers! Ed and Lyn
Another stretch of peaceful cruising…. Just the way I would want it to be as a fairly fair weather sailor. You make it look easy now. A VERY sassy Roger Out at 3:23 - Perfectas! Thank-you! Since I started following early-on, I think of the two of you as my fun Aunt Lynn and Uncle Ed and wish I were cruising along with you… you make it look beautiful and fun which is why I enjoy your videos. And rest assured, I also caught the second Roger Out at 4:31 too!! Awesome!
Thanks for the video. I also was homeported for a bit in Norfolk while in the USN, in the early 70's parts of town had signs that read "Sailors and dog keep off the grass" good times, good times.
I love following your videos. Learning a lot for when my wife and I take our journey similar to yours. Great video of Chesapeake and the locks. I have lived here for about 25 years and have seen lots of history being made in this part of the ICW.
Excellent on the editing and the choices of background music. Somebody is really coming into their own on these video tech issues. The camera man is pretty darn good too. Gud wurk kids. And OMG~! those Oysters on the 1/2 shell @ Cape Charles Distillery - I hope they were as good as they looked. We Always enjoy your videos. Thanks
Much appreciated! We try to get a little better each year. Hopefully this coming season will be the best yet. Those oysters were fabulous! Southern Chesapeake area has the best!
Another fantastic video guys. I really like the genuine nature of your videos - the good, bad and the ugly. I am looking forward to purchasing a vessel in a few years and following in your footsteps!
Hello guys. I'm new to your channel but I've already watched several of your videos and I enjoy them very much. I'm not to sure how often you come to NC, but me and my wife live in Wilmington just 10 minutes from Wrightsville Beach. I've seen where to been to Southport which isn't to far from us. Next time you guys are up this way stop by Wrightsville Beach and check out Bluewater and Oceanic restaurants. Very good food. Would like to meet you guys and have some drinks. Thanks Ret & April
We have been to Bluewater a couple of times and really like it. Never been to the beach area though. We may be back in the area in mid May. We plan to post our schedule soon. Cheers!
I've been noticing a light brown stain on your bow in all your videos... I would suggest to try to getting that off with a sponge mop soaked with muriatic acid... Don't worry, it will not hurt your gel coat..
We clean it off often. It is a tannic stain from the brown waters on the ICW. The problem with the cleaners that remove it is that they also remove the wax, making it easier for the stain to return.
Thanks for your videos Captain Sperrys and Chica BadAss 1stM8! You guys and Triton looking good. 30(?) days and counting. Kinda' like waiting for Santa when you're a kid. Is 2ndM8, Chris planning to cruise with you this season? Hope so. Cheers!😎🤟❤
We are excited. We started doing prep work to get ready. New heads, new carpets, clean and wax. We'll be ready - we hope! Unfortunately, Chris will not be joining us this year, she has other commitments. What are you doing?!
@@tryingnottosink9107 That's great you two. Will miss Chris though. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do much due to my GF illness. I will be caregiver to her. I'm an Artist. I have a painting/mural business here in Jersey that I will retire in '23. This Big Girl's plan for the 396 on hold for now. I'm inspired by your videos to hold on to the dream! Safe travels Triton!❤
Ed and Lynn have you ever taken the Deep Creek Ditch in VA/NC to Elizabeth City NC? I did it in the 70’s and I have no clue what kind of shape it is in today. Even if it is navigable. 😁🛫
Enjoyed the video, as always. What is the actual date of the video? I suspect late summer/fall 2021, according to your usual annual trip. Do you find it strange to be going the opposite direction as most snowbirds?
I have never used either but I fix Turbo Tax returns all the time. Be careful, they act like it's free but hit with additional charges for states, schedules, etc. I had someone come in with a "free Turbo Tax return" that they paid $300 for.
@@tryingnottosink9107 Yeah, I know about Turbo Tax "free filing". The FTC is suing them for false advertising. I used them last year when they participated in the IRS' Free filing program, but Turbo Tax/Intuit didn't participate this year. I paid $0 to file my fed and state return using Turbo last year. Taxslayer is participating in the IRS free filing program this year, so I'll probably give them a try. Aloha!
We stay far away from the military vessels. Sometimes, when they are leaving port they announce on the radio how far away you need to keep from them. I was once hailed by an aircraft carrier that they were going to cross in front of me and that I should change course.
LOL...I watch all your videos, but rarely comment...but when the accountant says "I can't count"...LOL!!! That was priceless...great stuff guys!!
😁
Thank you for taking us to some really neat places with your amazing videos.
Our pleasure!

Thanks. Half the fun for us is exploring the towns. We are very social people.
Lovely couple. Enjoy.
Thank you!

Hey, that's hubby and me when we talked to you guys at Grace O'Malley's!! Our first UA-cam appearances! 🤣 I do hope you all enjoyed the wine!
That's funny. Yes, we did enjoy the wine. In fact, Lyn reprimanded today for not mentioning it in the video.
"It is Always 5 O'Clock Somewhere" ! Wish my spouse would Imbibe ! Calm water ahead .
My wife can keep up with the best of them!
I like the black and white segments in your vlog. Even rainy days on a boat are great days, enjoy .
Thanks. Sometimes I get bored editing and just throw stuff in that I feel like doing.
As always a very enjoyable video. Watching your videos is such a stress relieving experience - who needs a shrink. Love the cover music too !
Thanks so much!
Again in my old back Yard, you said Norfolk correctly in the intro, 🤣🛫
I keep trying to remember.
Thanks for the video. I also was homeported for a bit in Norfolk while in the USN, in the early 70's parts of town had signs that read "Sailors and dog keep off the grass" good times, good times.
Lyn's father was stationed there before she was born, in the late 50s and early 60s. Thanks for watching!
Really beautiful area.
We agree!

Your giving us too many ideas for cruising. Enjoyed the ride along 🏴☠️
More to come!

The cameraman is a woman... Lyn does a great job with the camera and editing..
I was in Portsmouth Navy shipyard and we would often take a ferry across to Waterside.
It's a fun area to explore!

Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Never saw Norfolk from the water thanks for that
It is a great way to see the Norfolk area, and all the military ships!
I am from this area (Crisfield, MD). So glad yall got a chance to visit
Nice area!
Oh my God, how do you stay awake on a boat when its raining like that? Perfect napping weather! Love the videos, keep them coming.
Good question!

Alligator River Bridge. Always sees you coming
and always opens when you get there. I have never waited at that bridge!

we really enjoy everything you guys do love it... how do we get some stickers? Big Fans!
Wonderful.
Hey, how did you watch it that quickly! 😁
Wonderful.

Very pretty blue dress young lady. 🌹
Thank you! 🤗
Just passed there this morning… safe travels
You as well.
Crabby pizza looked good, not to sure about the cheese steaks. But that crab dip on the pizza looks great!
We are spoiled. Nothing beats a Philly Cheese Steak!
@@tryingnottosink9107 so true!! It's hard to impress someone from Philly with a cheese steak!
Do you guys ever stop over in Ocean City, Maryland?
Great Bridge & Great Bridge Lock, that area of the City of Chesapeake is named Great Bridge.
One of these stays we'll have to stop and check out the area.
This guy has a constant pet fly in every video.
His name is Brundle.
Currrently in Newport News

No we haven't. We are concerned about all the algae in the swamp.
@@tryingnottosink9107 That makes since!
Since you seem to enjoy the Intracoastal Waterway so much, have you ever considered doing the Great Loop instead of just up and down the east coast?
We will probably do the Loop some day. Right now, our plans are to head into the Caribbean for a few years.
Enjoyed the video, as always. What is the actual date of the video? I suspect late summer/fall 2021, according to your usual annual trip. Do you find it strange to be going the opposite direction as most snowbirds?
It is from Early August of last year. People tease us about going south when everyone is going north, but we have no problem getting slips!
Was this filmed in March? So green!
No, last August. We are slow at editing.
Do you use your stabs . all the time while underway ?
No, only when the waves are causing us to roll. We usually have them set to center.
What are the headsets you are using?
They call them Marriage Savers. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LOKU8KQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Captain Ed, Turbo Tax vs. Taxslayer? Or do you have a different recommendation? I am on a budget. Free is within my budget.

How many miles. From water side to cape Charles. 10
Around 30-40, as I recall.
Is there a restrictive area around the navy bases?
We stay far away from the military vessels. Sometimes, when they are leaving port they announce on the radio how far away you need to keep from them. I was once hailed by an aircraft carrier that they were going to cross in front of me and that I should change course.
how much is fuel?
Its around $4.50 on the water in the Philly area.
You should try holding the door open for your wife. Every place you went into you opened the door and went in before her.
That is only when she is filming. Otherwise, I always open the door for her.
Roger out …..
You seem to be a couple of drunks cruising the ICW in your beat up old, Hatteras, looking for the next bar?.......Just sayin'
