  • Instagram is full of colorful pictures of Copenhagen. But what does the Danish capital really look like? We checked out three of the most popular spots - we went to see the old harbor Nyhavn, strolled around the 16th century Rosenberg Castle and had a blast at the famous Tivoli amusement park. What do you think: Is Copenhagen as beautiful as it looks on Instagram?

      Copenhagen is a beautiful city, but what let it down was the general unfriendliness of the people, not everybody, but their seemed to be a reservedness and coldness that I didnt like, even Stockholm and Oslo had friendlier, more open people.

    If you're staying for at least 3 days and want to see as much as possible in a short time frame, I recommend the Copenhagen Card. It includes free entry to lots of tourist attractions, museums, including castle Rosenborg and Tivoli, and free public transportation in the greater Sjælland area.
    I went to Copenhagen early summer, and I spontaneously took a day trip to Elsinore and saw castle Kronborg and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, which was on the way.
    It was a blast! Hadn't have that much fun in years on a vacation. Beautiful city, good vibes, only second to my hometown Vienna!

    I like the description: "the old harbor Nyhavn", where Nyhavn literally means new harbour! Still, it is old by now, so it is not wrong. A bit like the English "New Forest" I guess - which was first named so in 1086. Neither people seem inclined to suddenly change names... 🙂

    4:25 One thing to note is that the 20 euro ticket to get into Tivoli doesn’t mean free rides. This requires an armband per person, which probably costs 3 times as much on top of the 20 euros. Or you can buy a number of tickets, maybe in sets of 20, if you don’t think you need the armband… The food, drink and candy inside Tivoli is also very expensive.

      You may not be aware Dave, but every western country in the world utilize a certain amount of socialist principles. The American military is financed by taxes. What do you call that? Well, socialism.
      What defines whether a nation is socialist rule is the financial system. No nation, where the majority of the production sector is privately owned can be defined as having socialist rule. What Americans think is socialism is actually just whether a nation have chosen to include education and healthcare into being financed in the same manner as the military, through taxes. The difference between USA and Europe in that sense is like night and day. Europeans are being taught facts of history. In USA, people are mostly only being taught lies and things that make USA look great. Many Americans believe other western nations are socialist nations or have socialist culture. There must be something seriously wrong with the Americans system of education, because that belief is laughable when most Americans have no clue about what defines a socialist governance.
      Yes, Danes are reserved but that is the culture in Scandinavia. Scandinavians don't spend their energy being false and pretend. If they like you, you will know. If they don't like you, you will definitely know too.

    • @TheChiefEng
      @TheChiefEng Рік тому +3

      @@hamza9540
      ALL western nations follow socialist principles. All westerns nations finance parts of their systems via taxes but that does not make any of them socialistic. What defines whether a nation has socialist governance or not is how the financial system is structured. In a socialistic state, the entire production apparatus is controlled by the government. In no western nation is that the case. The difference is only how many services the various western nations have chosen to include in the government controlled segment. In USA, the healthcare and education systems are mostly privately financed while in Northern Europe, healthcare and education is financed via taxes. The principle is actually very simple.
      In the Northern European culture, there is a strong belief that any citizen shall have access to free healthcare no matter income, social status etc. It is also a strong belief that all citizens shall have access to free education no matter income, social status etc. The only thing that determines whether you will get direct access to free higher education is your grade levels. A natural genius can be found anywhere. To think special minds only spring out from wealth is ridiculous, hence the need for free education.

Sorry for the not so aligned with the narrative opinion :( but I must say the institution's and social media lobby for tourism in Denmark, especially in Copenhagen is doing a great job.I never saw a bigger discrepancy between truth and fiction.I must say before I move here last year I thought Copenhagen is the best place on earth now I can wait to get out of here.Danish people are masters in hiding the dreck under the carpet,once a Greenlander told me,and he was right,never saw so many police sirens and drugs addicts in my life, behind those beautiful restaurants is hidden 12 hours if underpaid labor in awful conditions, working hygiene basically does not exist ,I never experienced such racism in my life,as an European,and I lived 12 years in Germany,for me a perfect tourism location is where you can visit nature beauties,and local culture, Denmark doesn't have any of this, everything here is borrowed, especially from the states,a good tourist location is where I don't have to dump 200,300 euros a day in order to have a unique experience!
