The battle with Heihachi made Kazuya weak. Gotta appreciate Harada’s commitment to the story all of the sudden.
This also means kazuya will lose in story mode
Lore wise you have to admit Kazuya did look pretty weak in that fight though, Heihachi was easily beating him even with his 3 eyes, then heihachi beat his Full devil form too. Now that I think about Jin was beating him pretty easily in that first glimpse of story mode., Akuma was making that fight look easy too Maybe lore wise after Tekken 4 Kazuya is weak and the feed to all his fights conveniently disappears and he shoots them in the face with full devil , either that or he just goes low on all males and against females hopes for the best 0_o

Decided to learn Kazuya during the beta. By the end i got the bare bones basics down but man, watching you with a lifetime of Kazuya experience I now appreciate the ocean between a beginner and an expert. This ocean between beginner and expert did not exist with my tekken 7 main.

It took hours and hours before I was able to consistently do an electric when I wanted to in a match. It took even longer to consistently WIN. It just takes time, but it's rewarding. Kazuya is cool af

The worst of the nerfs were to his combo game. His heat bound and combo consistency nerfs made him feel absolutely atrocious to play. I had to switch to Bryan because trying to combo with Kazuya felt like pulling teeth
Yes! Only on the last hour of the last day did I switch back just to lab more. I accepted the small combos but CD,3 could be sidestepped anywhere on the screen 😢

Man watching mainman play always motivates me despite the nerfs on Kaz i will still play no matter what, im 22 and started playing Tekken back when i was 16 due to his videos although i started in tag 2 , i bought all the previous Tekken games and played them all , i always go back from time to time, mostly TK4 and TK6

There's one thing in nerfing only a certain string/attack, which is by many considered too powerful (Kazuya's original DF3+4 string for an instance). There's the other thing however, in nerfing a character so much that not only his combos are boring and inconsistent - instead of having huge potential in terms of creativity - but also you take away all the fun from playing said character.

Combination of the character select music, thuddy sound design, Jin becoming pea brain mode, and no Mishimas in the game just made me want to turn it off tbh.
That first battle was like a Anime episode. Round 3 Kazuya just went next level. Nice match, feeling!

@@marko7214 Also people don't seem to realize Kazuya just plays with a different toolkit and slight adjusted plan now. He has his season 3 WS1+2 back from Tekken 7. He has new decent pokes. He has a punch parry. Great keepout and approach tools in Devil-form.

2:30 I think its not about ender to get wall travel, it's just this flip mechanic does not homing far like the screw mechanic in Tekken 7. So to compensate for it we need to use heat bounce and heat dash to get the wall travel that we used to.

I can see the basic play style is still the same with 7. But actually in 8 Kazuya get some good mids, like ff2 or f3 (quicker by 2 frames, can be counted as a new move)

Kazuya's still a strong character... still has that safe and fast recovering launcher. Twin pistons. Better 50/50 vortex, etc.

I've been playing Tekken since the 3rd one seriously I love what was done for Jin for his first appearance while Kaz was dead and even for evolution sake tekken tag Jin in my opinion was a hybrid between his father and mother then they squander the idea to revamp the hybrid once more
didn't initially like him , then he grew on me ,and then in time realized Jin is likely the best well-rounded character in the game and jin's counter parts have grown with him Hwoarang, Eddy and Xiaoyu
where is Kazuya's growth and we don't want more big flashy moves . Build his base core up
and give him the personality in his tech he so desperately needs Dorya
