Peter, this is a killer concept for new content. Find people and companies that take killer product photos, and show their input about what makes them so good. This could be a never-ending series!
Perfect timing for me, also, as I just started taking product photography seriously. My first effort of legit product photos started with binging all of Peter's videos on the subject. So this is a perfect continuation for me! Hey, maybe one day I'll be one of those guys he thinks "man, he did a good job" about 🤣 A man can dream!
3:153:50 What cool is they saw your examples and said, "let's do this this way". Peter, you are legendary. Ok, don't let it go to your head. But thank you for influencing new photographers. And us "old" photographers as well.
Wow, product photography isn’t a strong enough description for this. It’s like a whole new take on the field, more like ‘photo marketing consultancy’. What an excellent topic. Love to see it 🤙🏼
As a sound designer who recently started a photography/videography company.....I enjoy your love and detailed ear for audio. It really puts your videos on another level. Well done, Sir.
Your channel costs me a lot of money (I wanna buy all the toys. I wanna visit all the places.). I love everything about this video...the grit of the shop, the true artistry of what they do, the vibe, the color, the lighting, the care. Thanks for another gem (I love product photography) and for sharing the story of this particular shop.
This might be one of my favorite videos of yours! I love how you showed your appreciation for this company's photo-booth setup, knowing full well, it's not their expertise. You arrived, you complimented and helped them become even better. You are a perfect example of a master that enjoys teaching others. Keep doin' what you're doin', we're all here for it. Cheers ~
This video really struck a cord with me. My dad always wore hats like these so I had an emotional connection to this story right off the bat. What I really enjoyed was that you told a story but also taught us something about photography that will stick in our memory. More content like this please!!! Love it.
I so appreciate your ability to give us tons of insight on set-up/lighting/perspective while simultaneously showing off some truly awesome small businesses
Peter, you get me all motivated and excited. And I think, "YES!! I'm gonna do this! Yes!" But then, I do it and... well... "What the hell. Why bother. What a pileacrap. Seriously. Just give up dude. BUT then, No! Gotta keep going." Hey Peter, thanks for all you do to entertain and educate. Many thanks from Vancouver. 🇨🇦
The fact that you can learn Tips of Product Photography in this video and ALSO see Pete's reaction to the studio WITH liking the vibe of country & old looks is SOO Peter McKinnon Style Lately.
Note: The bluesey song at 7:24 thats named Ace High by Nick Poss -- I shazammed it and it turns out its a song by Juno Castor - Hit Me With Another Beer.
Can't believe I'm seeing Coup De Tete in a Peter McKinnon video! I've known these since before CDT days, they do amazing work and I'm so glad they're getting the recognition they deserve!
Рік тому+1
At 1:36 Zwack Unicum drink! Big thumbs up for HUNGARY! 😉 And thank you Peter the awesome video, I like the mood. I think I need to rethink my product photography... 👍
Ha! These guys are the reason I started to try to design hats myself. After visiting their site and IG, I saw everything you were talking about in this video. You're right, they are the best at this and their style is just unmatched. I've found that I get to combine photography with something I enjoy doing that has nothing to do with anything else I've done. It's just this 'active meditation' that I need to keeps my creativity sharp. Thanks for this sorta BTS of their shop.
I've been a proper hat wearer since forever and can really appreciate their work. A custom made hat is a thing of beauty and will wear like its always been there. These are not my style (pre-distressed) but I can appreciate the artistry in them. I'm more of a large brim safari hat kinda guy and the wear and the character my hats have comes from actually being in the bush. Great photography lesson! Thanks for that ;-)
I’m absolutely fascinated with your creativity and thought process. It’s a complete inspiration. Authentic and real! Dude! It would blow my mind to share a drink and a conversation some day! Peace
Brother I love this new video making you’ve been doing. No music, no dialogue, just visuals and sounds effects. Makes me want to go grab my 6400 and make one of my own. Spot on mate 👌🏼
You continue to find interesting content. In particular I like these series because there is something about telling someone else's story and not just your own. You are interesting no doubt, but to have the most impacting inspiration on your viewers is THIS! Adding more collaboration with other artists who have mastered their craft. There is no doubt why your channel continues to grow. Also, MORE SILENT VIDEOS!!!! Those are so cool!
Wait a minute, that black and white to color Transition, oooffff that was soo freaking dope, thanks for the inspiration, trust me, I am about to become a great cinematographer and photographer with all I've got.
The timing of the different hats to the music in the intro was so great- there was some difference when the drum changed so it wasn’t stale. Exceptional video Peter!
EeerrrMmaaahhhGgaaahhh... you KILLED this video. Absolutely one of your best! Teaching through story telling - you're such a Mastercraft in a class all your own. YOU always inspire me. Grateful to have found you on YT.
This is amazing stuff, as a photographer for a small business this definitely is a thinking point on how to get the story behind the product (what the lady calls the vibe) across
I hope i will find someday someone who is that interested in photography like these guys are!! They understand the value of it and the product is amazing!
Dude, I *love* this video. It's like mini-doc meets tutorial with fire b-roll and just the right balance of production and raw-ness. Feeling inspired. Thank you.
I always learn something with these product photography videos. A nifty way to create depth, some subtle adjustment that makes all the difference, and each and every time I then go and snap a ton of photos just to practice. Bringing the heat with this years work I see 🫡😁
what struck me was the sound. you can feel the heat of the steam. awesome. watch it without and play a nice tune. it will never do it. i am wondering how much work you guys put into that. ok he explained it later in the video.
Love the video concept! Pete upgrades your photography - and shoots cool people / cool shit. And hell yes to the Coup de Tete crew and vibe! Great to see real artisans and passion still exists. X
Bro I don’t even wear hats but NOW I want to buy one from them just off of this video. After seeing the work they do on making the hats combined with the thought process of the photography involved - Brilliant!!
Thank you for sharing your insight and why certain aspects of their setup worked so well. I find it challenging to shoot my products and think your tips and tricks could help me.
(Paused at 01:09..) craftmanship.. out of this world.. video.. already amazing.. 🔥 and the weird thing is, my interest does not lay even anywhere near this, any of it.. Nor hatmaking, nor photography.. its just these videos that Peter Mckinnon makes are just so mint. 😮💨
man the color coming back just as the fire lits up gave me goosebumbs. Your content is just going to another level sir. Love it. Waiting to see what more you have for us in the future🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
These product videos are probably some of my favorites and I’m not even a product photographer 🤣 but it brings so much light onto parts of what I do and it’s the best. Thanks for doing everything you do Pete!
Absolutely banger video as usual! I love the song in the beginning as well! I used that one in an upload from over the summer shooting some old cars! That bluesy vibe fits perfect with this video🤙
Peter, no matter what the topic is in your video, it’s motivational and inspiring to the sky! Thank you for be on this Plattform! ❤🎉💪🏼…. Yes and,…. This intro is 🔥
LOVE the Art Attack reference. Awesome video Pete, appreciate all the photo tips. Having incense around is a great tip for smokey effects I'm going to try. Cheers!
Every business needs to get a camera (we have a family biz). Sooting in portrait mode on a phone just won't cut it. I don't have the most expensive Canon body but I invested in lenses!
Excellent video, Pete. I would love to see a video explaining how to start making money with product photography. My business is trying to venture out and try some new things and product photography is absolutely something we’re interested in! Thanks again for this great video!
You are my inspiration Peter! You are the best out there and you have taught me a lot in photography and cinematography. Because of you I am planning to make a living from this craft. I promise you, I am gonna meet you one day, collaborate, and have coffee together. Thank you, thank you, thank you very very much!!

A product photography video? Sick enough on its own. But then Pete wearing his Clock & Colours collar hoodie?? COUP DE TÊTE??? AND HE’S WEARING A MASTER SUPPLY CO. DENIM JACKET WHILE EXPLAINING??? Man’s wearing/covering the holy trinity of my style goals 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Some might say, this intro is... fire. 🤓
oh , obviously🥱😂
IT IS 🔥🔥
the transition from black/white to color was cleverly done, super smooth 🫠
Ahhhh that transition into color was so deeply satisfying!! 👏👏👏🔥
in literal sense hats off on the grading!!!
Peter, this is a killer concept for new content. Find people and companies that take killer product photos, and show their input about what makes them so good. This could be a never-ending series!
Agreed! Make it happen @petermckinnon
@@flochfitness This is a great idea for anyone reading this in general.
My thoughts exactly!

Hey, maybe one day I'll be one of those guys he thinks "man, he did a good job" about 🤣

Dudeee!!! As a little brand owner, this just changed the game for me. So many good tips 🤘🏽 it’s time for me to put them in action 💀
Amazing!

Your choice of music is out of this world. You're truly a LEGEND! 🔥🙌🏽

Peter, you look like a proud father listening to them explain what they tried, learned and implemented.
Wait a minute, that black and white to color Transition, oooffff that was soo freaking dope, thanks for the inspiration, trust me, I am about to become a great cinematographer and photographer with all I've got.
The sounds is everything. This is one of the best videos I watch for January 2023. 👏❤️
Very interesting. I always learn something new. Loved the beat with hat switching in the beginning.
The timing of the different hats to the music in the intro was so great- there was some difference when the drum changed so it wasn’t stale. Exceptional video Peter!
I stopped doing my work in class to watch this, it was worth it
El Fuego! Thanks for blessing our eyes and ears again Pete!

This is Peter in his element for sure…❤
