I did the Ridgeway in April 2023. Also over 4 days. Wonderful walk, and for me a journey of two halves. Days one and two are mostly elevation as you progress through the downs towards Goring and Streatley. Beyond that you're into the Chilterns, a different landscape which is often just so beautiful. I live just a few miles from the Beacon and it was lovely to be met by my wife and daughters.
Yeah I would definitely agree to it being a trip of 2 halves. Much prefer Goring onwards. It also my local national trail. I’m 20 min from Tring station. This was my 2nd time doing it as I didn’t bring the camera 1st time so was a little bored by it, but would definitely recommend it to people as a good trail to start on being an easy walk and well signed. I got very lucky with the weather. It rained very heavy 5 min after leaving the beacon back to tring station.
Good to see you back on a trail Andy. Funnily enough I looked in on your channel the other day in case I'd missed any new videos. This looks like a nice trail. It's just missing the sea on the right hand side 😅. Have you made any plans to get back to the SWCP?
It does feel strange not to be on the coast. I was planning to get back to the swcp this week but the military range past Weymouth was going to be closed. I have time off in June and July so it just a case of getting lucky with that range being open. The ridgeway was a little boring if I’m honest that’s why the video is short. It’s mostly miles of long straight stretches.
I wanted to try a silent video for a while and this trail doesn’t really have much to talk about. Not much wow factor to it. It probably would have been me complaining if I had talked through it lol.

@@an9636 I missed your dialogue on this one too, but perhaps there wasn't much to talk about on this one ;)
