I think a lot of fans in NY would agree, that he is really impressive discussing the game and breaking things down during interviews. You see a guy excel for years and I assumed he was smaller but extremely athletic and skilled. But he’s elite mentally which gives him such an advantage. Awesome player!

Even though krieder probably would’ve gotten the hat trick their. I prefer to see Kane build confidence. He was really feeling it tonight
This play shows experience vs inexperience. Inexperienced players would try to force a pass through Marino's stick to get Kreider the hat trick. Kane realizes this is the playoffs and that he has to make the right play, not the feel good play because every goal matters. The pass would have gotten picked as Marino had a good stick there. Great poise for him to take it in himself.
If there is any player who doesn’t care about the hat trick, it’s Kreider. He just wants to win when it comes to the playoffs and I’m sure he was happier with Kane not forcing that pass with Marino coming back and them scoring.
Kane said in postgame interview that he initially planned to pass to Kreider, but then felt the Devils’ D made it impossible, so he buried it himself.
@@xchirs_ Agreed. I've seen Kreider look upset enough times when anyone brings up his individual accomplishments. He wants to win, period.
if it was anyone but Kane on that 2-on-1 (Zibanejad, Panarin) they would have 100% forced the pass to Kreider. Maybe it would have gotten thru maybe Marino would have tipped it away. Only Kane has the swagger to keep that puck and just dunk on the goalie like that.

Probably the most skilled that they've had in awhile. This team is scary good from top to bottom.
On paper they should be winning the cup this year without a problem and these first 2 games they have proved it.
