I don't think anyone would label this type of update as inflammatory. You, being the positive pillar of the community, providing these types of new updates is exactly what we need. Your ability to keep it personal as well by incorporating your life changes is pleasant as well and makes them a joy to watch...even amongst the bad news. Well done!
Glad to year they havent been inflammatory so far! 🙏
i agree
agreed!
Agreed. As an individual who doesn’t follow the keeb news that much, your videos has been perfect to know more our hobby. Warning people about GBs by adding your own experience and involvement as a person “losing money”, brings me confidence that we’re not alone. Keep up with this series, it has been great! Thanks for all your effort, I’m sure most of the community really appreciates it as well.
@@TaehaTypes Hey Taeha, I completely agree with what's being said here. As someone who originally was really deep into the hobby and now too busy to keep up with what's going on, I really appreciate these video updates. Being able to keep myself somewhat up to date with recent events, it helps me steer away from certain vendors and not funnel my money into these potential scammers while still being able to support greenlight vendors/creators and continue to be a part of this community . 👍👍👍
As someone who doesn’t regularly scroll Reddit, I appreciate your news updates as they help to keep me informed of just things happening in the community, good and bad. So I personally don’t see any issue with these videos. It’s almost like a monthly newsletter just in video form.
I think you're covering this in a pretty objective way! May feel awkward but I think talking about things like this are only good for the community in the long run! Thanks for the vids
Thank you! Yea might just be something I need to get over given the nature of the topic
Taeha the reporter the keeb community needs
No
Keep reporting. You aren't being inflammatory, you're being informative. And I for one appreciate it.
We've been affected by both Project Keyboard and M&C's disappearance. PK dropped all comms for GMK Slasher which I volunteered to pick up and have back on track, and M&C with the Saevus Cor, resulting in us having to refund a substantial amount of money, and GMK Bordeaux, Terror, and Cinder were all left on the cutting room floor. I've since taken up those projects as lead vendor as well, however I am still waiting for GMK to provide an official statement before we see if there's anything we can do to help US customers.
Vendor communication has already been a major issue over the last two years, and it's unfortunately not getting any better. It's very frustrating consistently being the ones to poke the lead vendor/designer to get an update or get projects moving. Fortunately, there are still plenty who are very passionate about what they're doing and that really does make everyone's lives easier.
The Coffeezilla of keyboards, no unnecessary information, lots of general updates about companies that you've had a relationship with in the past. As someone else said you're a pillar of the keyboard community, so your honesty about the topics is really informative and useful
I think right now this exit scam rush is by far the most important thing happening in the hobby and needs to be communicated. I’m currently stuck with a few Noxary products unfulfilled and I feel this is the kind of situation that can really tear apart this community.
Hopefully we have more positive news later but I’m so glad you’re using your platform to communicate these issues and concerns to others
Taeha, you are probably the reason why so many of us joined this hobby. Thank you for being objective. At a time where the kb community faces so many challenges, it is refreshing to hear objective opinions. Stay true brother. Keep up the good work❤
Appreciate the algorithm that brought up your videos again. I had to look up if I had any orders with any of the problem vendors and looks like I'm affected. Trying my best to get it resolved with my credit card company but it's been almost 2 years since I gave the money for the group buy. Your video have influenced my decision on not going with group buys from this point forward. Going to go with in-stock items or very short turn-around times!
We love the news updates always, just need more calming soothing jazz music again :) keep up the good work, we appreciate you!
7:01 Keep doing what you're doing as there's no harm in documenting these issues in the hobby. Not everyone is active on Reddit or Discord so it's always worth it to cover these topics for extra reach. As Rmendis said previously, you are a pillar to the community. An OG. So there's nothing wrong in sharing your views about these things. So keep it up.
On another note, your new place seems to have a generous amount of wall outlets.
Theres so many outlets and closet storage haha but not complaining!
I do agree that not everyone is active on forums (myself included) which is what led me to start this in the first place (also as a way to keep me accountable to stay on top of the news) but just cant help that sometimes the exposure it gives adds more fuel. Might just be an internal feeling I need to get over given the hobby atmosphere right now
I love these videos. It helps keep people up to date without doing a heap of digging into the mess, and its nice to have a mostly impartial voice give the community an update with what's happening with the Group Buy Fiasco. Thank you Taeha!
I feel like your tone / delivery has been great!! The group buy / vendor news has felt more like PSAs than trying to stir up drama. Also mixing in other types of news stories validates that you’re not just trying to gain viewership exclusively by stoking the fire
You are being calm and objective. Its not adding fuel to the fire imo, you are being very helpful
You are spreading awareness, not fanning the flames. People in the hobby need to be aware of vendor issues as the global recession continues to whittle away at this hobby, bad actors or no. Thanks for doing this.
Keep up the great work on mech reports! So much of this information is scattered across various platforms so it great to have it explained all in one place!!
I love these new update videos, I think they're nothing but helpful.
You're not adding any fuel to the fire by informing the community of what's already transpired, if anything you might be saving more people from heartache.
Can't wait to see you build the Tempo and hopefully review the new Cherry switches!
Thank you for another monthly keyboard news! these are so helpful and very nice to watch
I appreciate the news. A helpful reminder that any company is not your friend, and should be treated as such.
I think your tone is just right to cover those kind of topics, I really like this format personally
Taeha, I haven’t been a member of the keeb hobby for long but it was very quickly clear that you are one of the pillars of the hobby. By no means do I believe the information you are providing is negative. You are simply providing an objective presentation of real world problems that the hobby is having to deal with, and that is frankly extremely helpfully to all members, especially those who are just getting started on the journey.
I wouldn’t say your adding to the drama, if anything I think your the perfect spokesperson to keep people in the loop and to clarify the risks with trusting your money to even the most prestigious of vendors and keyboard designers. Keep up the updates man!
love the new style of videos ❤
I think you've made the right choices here. This is a wonderful hobby with a great community, and we need to know what's happening. I just took a chance on my first group buy with a reputable vendor, and I would not have felt secure doing so if it weren't for you and other community members discussing the failing ends of this practice. You're not adding to the fire, you're helping to prevent otherwise unsuspecting new community members from making bad choices. You're staying impartial and optimistic overall, and clearly seperating your opinions from fact. Keep it up, you're doing a good job.
Bad news is better than no news. Thanks for sharing!
This is not drama at all. This is reporting news that are relevant. I was able to file charge back with Mech & Co for 2 orders after I learn about their situation from your reporting. I also have the Bingsu R2 order unfilled from ProjectKeyboard so I will do the same charge back. Again this is useful and relevant to the health and longevity of the community. You mentioned that you have great relationships with some of these vendors but if you want to be a reporter and represent the custom keyboard community you must put your personal relationship aside and remain objective. Thank you for doing this and I hope you can continue with this series.
Covering important news to keep people informed is not drama. Keep it up man.
Please keep up the good work. These monthly updates are a terrific idea for anyone in the community. I love your youtube content.
Its pro-consumer to report on issues and concerns, no sense in keeping less involved members of the hobby in the dark.
Also pro-hobby because you're covering meetups and other news! That's great!
Keebhouse when?
Great content Taeha! loving this. For someone like me its nice to have these to listen to since I am not able to be as active in scanning through forums and reddits.
I don't normally follow you, but I think the monthly roundups are very enlightening and insightful regarding the current state of vendors and their outstanding orders and obligations. Keep doing what you're doing. As much as it would seem like putting fuel on the fire, it does help bring about more awareness to the current situations in the hobby, and I think that's the most important thing when it comes to the consumers.
I don't think it is inflammatory nor is it igniting drama. You have been very factual with what has been said and it is good for people who do not have the time to keep abreast with the latest keyboard news. It helps us make more informed decisions on our purchases so please do keep the format.
thanks for covering the rama situation! i'm a huge rama fan and am frankly pretty bummed by the lack of transparency
Love this type of update format. Similar to group buy update videos but other more ~interesting~ topics.
Loving this videos, thank you and keep it up :)
Keep it up dude. What I like about your news videos is your ability to report good info with a level head, without introducing unnecessary drama.
Another great news program! Keep going!
You're doing the right thing. We appreciate it!
Taeha, this isnt drama, you're giving people information that they might not know. Personally, you should keep this coming.
I do enjoy these monthly updates. I feel like the way you deliver the news is informative so it doesn’t feel like you’re adding to the drama at all.
Love the news updates man! Good, and bad news alike. I think that part of what comes with reporting is sharing unfortunate news too. As long as that isn't the focal point, and as long as you are just telling the facts without being overly biased, then it's completely acceptable. This episode had a lot of 'bad' news in it, but I felt very happy to have heard these updates, as I am pretty new to the keyboard space, and I dont see all that happens. And you passed along the information really professionally, without major bias. I can't wait for more episodes ❤
Learned about the Minnesota meetup from this video and I'll definitely be taking some of my boards over. Thanks!
Have fun!
honestly, really love the insight that you bring, not a lot of us have time to keep up with each discord and really glad someone is shedding light onto these topics. keep it up bro!!!
As someone that is in one of the Noxary GBs I think its great that you shed light on these types of situations. It puts pressure on the seller to provide the product that they owe us.
Please keep doing these I actually didn't even hear the news about noxary or any of the other ones besides from project keyboards so I would have been in the dark completely if I didn't see this
Glad to see someone talking about all of this. The keyboard hobby definitely felt like it was a bit of a bubble, and I'm not surprised to see it falling apart in some places - starting with the Charue Designs situation. Thank you for keeping the community updated and aware!
I appreciate the updates about vendor issues as I am not very active on Discord. So far, I have not had an issue with your presentation, and look forward to next month's video
Yes, agree on your point of info dissemination to the rest of the community. Keep it up please. Thank you 🙏🏼
The Rama product delays are so true, been waiting for around 2 years for the Kara Seq 2, seems like that will be getting shipped soon-ish but I won't be looking at their products again after I've received my order. I just feel sorry for the people who have pre-ordered their newer products as it seems like they will be waiting longer than I will be.
These videos are great, keep them up!
Its nice to have a channel that keeps me up to date with the major important stuff. As someone who has taken a step back from the keyboard hobby for now(budget lol), I still want to be informed wothout having to be in 20 different keyboard discords.
Appreciate these updates
appreciate your username fellow bunny
You are not reporting drama, you are reporting news that happens to be dramatic as many issues are surfacing with the hobbies' explosive growth. Please keep reporting as it makes the community wiser as a whole.
This is super necessary for the keeb community, i dont see it as drama but updating the casual members of the community. Please keep sharing this news Taeha!
I am really thankful for the information you share with us, and I think a lot of people in this hobby would agree! I think you are 100% correct when you said that a lot of this news is something some of us would never hear about otherwise.
I don't find your updates inflammatory at all. You always report on things in an unbiased way. It's a great way to protect everyone in the hobby, both people just getting into it and those who've been around for a while. You're using your powers for good, sir. Well done.
I do very very much appreciate the updates like this. Just state what has been put out in terms of the facts and keep any opinions or commentary from your side out and you should avoid most "drama" tagging and keep yourself in the news only lens. Thank you for the series as it really helps out a lot of people.
This isn't inflammatory! In fact you are putting this platform to a good use.
As one of the well known community member, be it for newcomers or the ones who have stayed for a while, you raising awareness to these makers/vendors that currently under-fire as you said, to reconsider people's decision would be very impactful.
More importantly, you don't sound like you wanna add the fuel to the fire while covering the news. Good work!
Damn. I'm in for the Bingsu and WoB with Project Keyboards, and I didn't realize they've been MIA. Sucks about Noxary. I was interested in their stuff and almost pulled the trigger on their clearance sales.
Honestly, I think these videos are great for people like me who don't closely follow everything.
A business not delivering on a product and going ghost is not drama, it is definitely news within this niche hobby. Drama is like, novelty art on clones, and those stupid gmmk color fade keycaps. If someone has hundreds of thousands of dollars in outstanding orders for well over a year across multiple products, I would definitely like to know about it. I think your presentation is very fair, unbiased, and makes no attempt to call people to action. So I think its good. If individuals decide to use that info to go be rude and bothersome that reflects on them, not you. Keep up the good work, I think it is very admirable that you decided to use your large platform for news segments like this rather than soaking up as many affiliate deals as possible and simply pushing products. It shows you care not just about boards but all your fellow hobbyists as well. Rant over thanks Taeha
Xondat post an announcement right after this video. So this is absolutely helpful.
Keep it up, Nathan! For those that don't keep up in discords or subreddits, but may watch YT vids, these are useful for being "in the know" with current keeb news.
Thank you for the kind words!
There's a lot of people like me who just can't really afford to partake in group buys, I've only joined one recently in the cycle7 and before that I got a epbt set that was extremely disappointing.
You documenting the issues in the hobby will help a lot of people be cautious in the future imo
Time is moving fast, and I have less and less time to keep up with everything that happens in the community, so I am very greatfull for your monthly updates. Also imo you aren't adding fuel to the fire, because you publish the current information very imformative and not emotional, so its a very News based report, rather than hate.
Keep up the great content!
I would hardly call companies taking peoples money and not even responding in some situations drama. You’re providing a valuable service. Don’t feel bad about it.
I think it's good that you're doing a bit of Is reporting that will keep the vendor's accountable, and the only thing I would want you to add is when vendors are actually having sales on nice products we might be interested in purchasing.
As someone who finds following this hobby a bit overwhelming, I find these videos extraordinarily valuable. In no way do I see it as spreading drama as long as you stick to the facts! Thanks Taeha
Please keep this series🙏🙌
youre not the hero we deserve but the hero we need
this news is very important. people need to know. please continue these types of videos. you are the OG of this hobby, people listen to you and people need to hear what is going on. not everyone is on discord.
You shouldn’t feel conflicted about reporting facts. You always offer a balanced perspective, too. Keep it up!
Great Vid like always Taeha!!
TY LUTHER
7:01 Even though there will be an amount of unfavorable people that will react negatively to all of this news, I still think that your coverage and your explanation of everything going on in the hobby is pretty valuable to someone like me who might not know everything that is going on in the hobby (good or bad), but can now know what to look out for. So I think that this will provide a lot more good to a lot more people, than providing something bad.
I like hearing news about the keyboard group since as much as I love the hobby - there are a lot of things I'm still unfamiliar with. Listening these videos is very informative
Glad I got GMK Sumi from zFrontier during one the sales they were having. I almost got it from project keyboard, but besides the amount they are trying to get for it, I didn't understand why everyone else had it in stock at the time and not them.
Nothing wrong with spreading awareness, looking forward to the next!
Please keep reporting news especially status updates and vendors who are in trouble. I have nobody in my life who keeps up with keyboard stuff, I have never been to a meetup, I just discovered keyboards this year (not keyboards but… you know what I mean! Lol) and I have literally no way of knowing any of this, the rumors do not reach me. It would even be good to know which vendors are doing well, so I can buy with confidence, rather than hoping the vendor I use who has not been named as a failing business is in fact going under, and I can decide whether to buy as a fully informed customer. Thanks for doing this!
You are doing fine and i like your mech news. There is no drama on just reporting the facts like you are.
I believe you're doing a great job as to "Hey, look at this you might have missed" that being happy news or sad news you're keeping an objective view on things and reporting them I don't believe adds to drama or anything of the sort. As you stated, I would have not known many of these things if not from this video.
So thank you for taking the time and the responsibility to do so and feel of course free to let go when you feel the weight of it becoming too great or the conflict of relationships becoming something bothersome
Huge hug to you and hope you can settle in your new place in no time
As someone who has been almost completely out of the loop for the past 2 years re: keyboards, these videos have kept me informed AND helped me get back into the hobby.
The way you cover things is great Nathan, and I look forward to the next month's news and your future content.
hope youve been well xerp! thanks for the kind words
Since most of your reporting is 'after the fact', I don't think you're adding any fuel to the fire
That is true! Have been waiting for more official posts before mentioning something in the videos as I also cant keep up with everything
hey nathan!! honestly not super into keyboards and stuff but your news videos always come up in my recommended and usually play them to hear about what’s happening in the community and have only really found the news helpful! it doesn’t ever seem like you have a malicious intent, just sharing to the wider audience some things going on behind the scenes. Hopefully you doing this series is not ruining any existing relationships because I find them enjoyable as someone who hasn’t done anything related to keyboards for like two years now and hope to continue seeing them in the future o7
yooooo long time no see! thanks for stopping by and the words of encouragement ❤️
As I'm someone new to the hobby, I still struggle with getting good and useable information quickly when trying to shop. Hearing these news makes me make better decisions. So thanks. I can understand it might leave a bitter taste for someone so integral to the scene but If handled with respect i don't think its a bad thing.
These videos are extremely useful resource. It is not your fault that the community is plagued with these issues at the moment. Having to dig through discords and buried posts on /r/mk is not the same as a concise video detailing the good, the bad, and just general happenings in the community.
nice and short vid - I personally enjoy watching them :)
also, nice Zoro figurine 👀
friend got me it hehe
I hope CannonKeys or a different vendor will pick up GMK NTD smoge
I think helping us keep track with the state of the industry is important, due to other peoples decisions sometimes it will come off of as drama. As long as you don't go heavily in depth or give off bias you are just providing us with the info that is needed to make our own decisions. This content has been amazing as someone who is just getting into the Enthusiast side of keyboards and does not understand group buys and stuff :)
As someone in the Baionlenja Synovia GB I have to say I’m glad you’re bringing more attention to Baion’s plight. He’s trying to keep contact with people on his discord and refund those that want refunds, it’s just taking a while because of the factory issues.
I think hes doing the best he can and hope he pulls through! He's doing the right things so hopefully his customers and stick through with him
People need to know, it's inevitable that drama will happened sometimes. But you always have been respectful so I don't think most common sense people will take in bad faith. Keep it up 👌🏻
Unfortunately, Kalakos Design (Bahrknob 65) has been radio silent for months as well.
I'd call it reporting, it isn't adding unnecessary drama imo. These issues have to be made to the public so that folks can be more careful, I almost made a purchase from project keyboard because they are the only ones left with GMK Stealth Novelties preorders. So I'm glad you were able to shed some light before I essentially gave my money away.
I think my lessons these days is I am only going to be sticking with a select few vendors that I know are trusted.
Rip hope I get my GMK Sumi order from Project Keyboards. I went all in on that set.
I spent years looking for confirmation of PK pulling. I thought I was being paranoid the whole time because reddit was silent afaik. Nearly 3 years have passed, and I already accepted I’m not entitled to anything about a year ago. Sucks to see it being so prevalent and finally hitting press. This is both a relief knowing that I can move on but also leaves me bitter with little confidence in the process and of the hobby, and even worse with nothing else to offer to others but a good luck hedging your loss.
What are the caps on that Bauer Lite photo? (the transparent purple one)
I'd say you keep at it. I think a lot of the community has suffered for a good long while because past vendor failures seem like a surprise, but the signs were always there. I appreciate you shedding light on it, and I would just say you're helping people make better choices. Best of luck on the move. - jacobsmirror
Woahhh long time no see hope youve been well!
I appreciate these videos. I have yet to recieve my GMK Fuji from mykeyboard which I ordered in April 2021 and had no idea they were in financial trouble. Their response time was insanely long as well. I hope I won‘t lose that money 🥲
If it's bad news it's bad news, entirely not your fault and we appreciate the reporting on it. The vendors need to be held accountable.
