Hope you enjoy my performance of Für Elise! Let me know in the comments below if you notice the bar where I add my own, ahem, special twist...(Who can remember how many deedle deedles happen each time anyway, am I right? I realize I'm using music though so I really have no excuse... 😂🤷) Thanks for watching! ❤️️
Some play this piece too fast, others too slow, but this was perfect. Your hands caressed the keys, and made love to the piano..you were in a magic zone, and took us along. Thank you. You are gifted.
I took Piano Keyboard in high school (It was a horrible class, the teacher didn't teach, and half the keyboards didn't work at all, surprised anyone learned anything) anyways there was this one boy in the class that had a keyboard at home. He worked on this song and memorized the first minute of it. His class keyboard was one of the rare ones that actually worked and he'd turn it up enough that it could be heard by the rest of the class. He started and EVERYONE paused in their work to listen to him. He played that first minute of the song like it was it's own song and it was like a heart wrenching lullaby. That little fragment of this song was honestly the most beautiful thing I've ever heard played on piano (even though his skill was probably FAR below yours and others). At a couple points, THIS almost sounded like that. Thank you for bringing back that memory. 8)
My big sister used to play this when I was a little kid. She'd practice it so often that I really got sick if it. But now 50 years later, I remember her playing and she really was quite good. Hearing the same song over and over was so annoying at the time. I should not have been mad at her for perfecting her playing. I was most likely jealous because I could not play due to coordination problems of my left hand. Fast forward to my 61st birthday. A wonderful friend I had met at chemo the day before my husband died in Hospice over 5 years ago, wanted to do something nice for my birthday. I asked Nancy to play me a song on her keyboard for me. She practiced a lot, but then her health took a run for the worst. She was put in Hospice nearly 4 years after we met. She had Kidney Disease and refused to have Dialysis. She never got to play the song for me. Instead, I brought it up on my phone while she was on her deathbed. Her daughter needed a break. So I sat with her playing hymns and Beethoven. I think she had chosen Für Elise, because my name is Elisabeth. After awhile, I asked God to not let her linger anymore. She wanted to join her husband that had been gone for 4.5 years. I asked for a quick demise. Our dinner was over about 40 minutes later. I went back to check on her and she was gone. Whether she would have died anyway without my plea, is anyone's guess. I read her eulogy at her memorial service too. So this song is very special for those two reasons.
anything good will be torture if you hear it 20,000 times. I would throw up if I ate the best tasting cake every single day. It's not jealousy of your big sister. Fur Elise can be used to torture prisoners in solitary confinement if played on loop. Why don't you only keep 1 of your favourite song on your iPod and play it on loop? See how long it takes before you turn into a mental patient. Fur Elise is honestly a cliche at this point. And my English professor hated cliches in essays. I think it also applies to music. Music should have variety.
I wanted to play the piano but no lessons possible as I was in a big family. My grandfather played and great grandmother even played for Queen Victoria. When I was eleven, my classmate taught me to play, by ear, in wet playtimes in a hall where we were allowed to use the piano, Fur Elise. I never forgot it! Thirty Years later, I bought a piano from a friend, learned to play, mostly without tuition and had a long period of recovery from major surgery to sit and play all day long. I learned to play this and other classical pieces, from the music, and it brought huge joy. Soon, I was unable to sit up at the piano (EDS), but you and your brother have given us both such amazing pleasure. My husband adores the cello, so you both really make our lives much more joyful. Well, I could never have reached Marnie's level, which is wonderful to enjoy, but it brings back all the great times in my childhood and brings smiles to our faces. We are now pretty elderly!
The best technique is bereft without emotion-your playing is suffused with emotion, it floats along the melody, the hills and the valleys, lovely. I feel like I have a connection to your inner life when I hear you play. Remarkable.
I have never heard fur else played as perfect as her before, her timing is perfect.. I went to the Royal Northen College of Music for a year.. so I know a little
Everytime I hear this divine melody, somewhere I feel like lost or like sad or sometimes may be nostalgic. Can't truly describe how it is. The so unreal creation but yes truly a real masterpiece. Created by one legend Beethoven 🙏❤️ There won't be a second creation like this one, atleast .
Fur Elise .Beethoven .Muziek die je ziel streelt.Met je ogen dicht luisteren en je mee laten voeren in het spel.Prachtig en deze muziek neemt je mee naar anderen oorden.
This is beautiful, it's a magical piece of art, it's romantic and yet so tragic at the same time. This is like that moment when you look at your lover's eyes and you get lost in the melody of her beautiful smile, she teases you and you get bewitched by her beauty. You want her but fail to make her your soulmate, it's a tragical romance. Will your love be ever remembered by those after you die? Probably Beethoven also had a tragical love life.
Rez Gazi That’s quite an interesting interpretation and not necessarily where my mind leads me, but I think it lends credence to the idea that music as an art form evokes different ideas and emotions in every listener. It is a somber, yet beautiful tune.
His wikipedia article claims that this piece was written for Therese Malfatti, the niece of Beethoven's doctor. She is one of a few women Beethoven wooed during his life but he never married. Therese was only 19 when Beethoven (40) proposed to her and she turned him down.
❤ This masterpiece is one of the great classical masterpueces of the whole world. ¡¡¡ It is great, unique, beautiful !!!. It is one of my favorities..... Thank you.....❤
When I was a child I would walk to my home down a long gravel driveway. Often, especially on my way home from school in the fall, my Mom would be playing this song on the piano. We could hear from halfway down the driveway my brother and I.

Its August 2024.No matter how many times I listen to this I never get tired of it. Beautiful music. Beautifully played. Love your interpretation. Thank you.
Marnie is a perfect pianist. Her interpretation of these piano greats is amazing and wonderful. Bye her album if this excites you. I play it in my car all the time.
@@shishir.sachar4648 Georgii Cherkin's ORCHESTRA version is yes, majestic and epic. I actually heard that before this one and I was totally impressed. But for piano SOLO performance, I'd choose this one from Marnie Laird and that of Lang Lang's over Georgii's piano solo performance of Fur Elise. I won't compare this one by Marnie (piano only) to the orchestral arrangement by Cherkin though. ORCHESTRA ≠ piano solo.
Marnie, every true pianist adds their own special touch every now and again. I've played for almost 33 years, and really enjoyed you playing this piece. Some really do speed it up too much, but you did perfect.
Playing is like a painter a chef you take a great recipe composition from a composer like Beethoven try to feel what they felt writing it and add your own flavor!!!!
This performance took me away for WAY TOO SHORT a reverie. Left me wanting so much more. So I’ll click ‘refresh’, and thank you, Marnie, with all my soul ❤️
I've just started playing piano a few weeks ago and this is the first song I'm trying to learn. One key at a time. I'll likely be listening to your rendition, over and over, for like at least 500 times. Thank You...
Your interpretation of this piece is one of the most natural, spontaneous and breathtakingly gorgeous performances! Stunning!!! Aesthetically perfect and ever so moving emotionally. Without a hint of affection or mannerisms. Super virtuoso...
I just started taking piano lessons I am 64 years old and I love it. I think I spotted your oopsie when I first heard this, but then I said to myself what do I know about the piano. In any case I love you and your husbands videos. You guys are amazing and I hope to be 1/100 th as good as you are.

Classical music is one of the greatest wonders ever invented by man. This is best version of Fur Elise I've ever heard. Beethoven was a genius ...
She plays with feeling and a strong sense of craftsmanship...Bravo!
She looks very sleepy, even like she is about to fall asleep. Her eyes are closed most of the time. I think she needs a rest.
She’s just really into the soft parts of the music and seems to be an expressive person 😂😂
Thanks!
May God Bless you for the wonderful memories that you gave by playing this beauty. so gracefully.
Yes, she is very delicate, she just flows and her renditions are perfect. And she plays all the classicals in the same manner
