I will always wonder why they covered Willem Dafoe's face in that movie. Biggest missed opportunity of all time. Audiences have had no problem believing that masks can perfectly represent a face for decades; would have been like the masks in Mission Impossible.
Remember that scene when he confronts Spider-Man and he slides the lenses up just to show Dafoe's performance through the mask? Goes to show they needed his facial expression from the beginning
Darian Iwinski it would "scare"children? pfff, that's load of bull. on the contrary, it's good to have children face their fears, and what better way than by having spider-man hold your hand through it.
Darian Iwinski its a villain ..it supose to scare kids..they would grow up feeling that nostalgia fear from the goblin when they watch again ......like me when i saw the joker from 86..
He could have not used that script, like they must have done with some scenes, and show a short flashback in wich he tears a part of the helmet to put the "latex" in place...
then change the script, literally wouldn't take very long to change that small aspect of the goblins origins instead of a helmet say it mutated him since that's what it basically did, the flight suit can just be for the body or his crazy ass simply modified the suit to look like his goblin features. like every super-powered comic character makes a costume to suit their powers or personality.
Ha! Don’t make me laugh. That’ll scare the mental 8 year olds too much. The Goblin in the MCU will probably wear a birthday hat and a tutu and even that will be too scary. This mask would scar MCU fans for life. Just like watching a good movie.
They would probably use the 1610 universe Green Goblin (Ultimate Universe) cause Petes friend in the MCU is a Miles Morales friend in the 1610 universe which idk why they mixed the universe together, I hated them for that, how are we going to get a miles spiderman if hes friend is in the the MCU main universe :/
The design is awesome and I would love to see a final version of this in action. However, I'm not 100% convinced this would have worked in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies. Maybe in Marc Webb's franchise?
Yes they say they didnt use this because of scariness and PG13 but I disagree. Even spiderman 1994 cartoon goblin that kids watch is identically scary as this. This is perfect green goblin if this mask was complete with cloting
+FreakShow StopMotions When I first saw this I was so amazed at how good it looked...it was as if the Goblin from the comics had been exactly duplicated into live action. I hope it doesn't turn out to be a total waste and can be used at some point...
+Nix Nightbird I've read about his experience with the mask once, I believe he said it was too uncomfortable for him which then made the costume designers make a power rangers goblin.
Wow, present make-up effects have gone far with modern tech. Imagine if that were green-lit and if the lighting + camera work were done right. This could've had a very strong "Wow!" effect on the audiences. Doubt anyone would've said, "Gosh, his face looks fake with that mask!". Thanks for sharing this. It's amazing!
+ExtraRareTrumpSteak So... How much do you hate that Marvel Studio's Spider-man with movable eyes like in the comics in the Captain America: Civil: war film. Your argument for Captain Americas wings on the side of his mask is ridiculous, it's a partial change. Not everything is completely true to the comics but compared to what Marvel Studios has designed for their films. It's true to the comics. Look at Fox's X-men. First Class was closest to the comics design. It took them so many films to get it to blue and yellow.
OH MY F*CKING GOD! WHY THE F*CK WASN'T THIS USED IN RAMI'S MOVIE! This was a million times better than the stupid helmet. Why Rami, you like horror and scary stuff, and this was a comic book nightmare fuel.
Eric Coldfire Totally agree, this version of goblin is straight from the comics. Still TASM2 Goblin is my favorite so far. Dehaan was incredible as Harry/Goblin. Still TASM2 had some violent scenes that were cut out so it would remain PG13 otherwise they were losing audiences. One of them was (spoiler for whoever didn't see the movie!!!!!!).........Goblin snapping Gwen's neck, stabbing her also the transformation has an extended darker and twisted version. These will be added in the director's cut
***** Green Goblin has not always been a guy in a suit in the cartoons. In ''Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends'' Norman actually mutated into the Green Goblin and underwent a transformation much similar to the on in the Sam Raimi film except in living flesh instead of just his mind. The fact that the Green Goblin was a mutant freak from a lab accident would've been an interesting twist because it would've allowed Norman to keep his sanity and the Goblin to do his deeds until the final climax when the Goblin took complete control of Osborn, which is what I think was the original idea considering Gwen Stacy is never paired with Peter in the Raimi films.
Christian Stotts I could definitely see them going with the costume and mask for Green Goblin, if he ever shows up in the MCU (hopefully VERY soon). They could even use prosthetics in place of the animatronics like they did with Red Skull; if there's a scene where presumably Norman Osborn unmasks himself, they could do a reverse Red Skull where he rips off his Hugo Weaving face mask (I wouldn't want him to rip it, though; I want to see GG finally get the justice he deserves and stick around for a long time).
the mcu green goblin should have the design of traditional green goblin, the roles ultimate green goblin played , and the charm and charisma of spectacular Spider-Man green goblin
The truly reason why didn't use this FU***ng AWESOME- Amazing Mask is the American parents fault. The persons who saw Spider-Man before cinema distribution, recognized that "Mask will be scare children". -_- FACEPALM!
@J T, it's extremely ignorant of you to suggest such idea, as Sam Raimi is a life-long comic book fan. He was attending Comic Cons since he was a child, and even managed to witness comic book legends like Jack Kirby doing sketch works on the spot. He grew up during the comic book renascence of the 60s. He loved comics like Spider-Man, Thor, Brave & The Bold, Superman, you name it. He was also found of pulp comic heroes like The Shadow. He was such a big fan of Batman and The Shadow, in fact, the only reason why he made Darkman is to homage those heroes he grew up with because he couldn't make the actual movies about those characters. He also had big faith in Marvel heroes before anyone had - before he even was asked to direct Spider-Man. He was trying to get Thor movie made in the early 90s, and he even had a meeting with Stan Lee about it, and they even went to various studios to pitch them this idea. Unfortunately, Sam's enthusiasm and faith in the character wasn't enough to convince them to give this project life. So yeah, Sam Raimi is the do-or-die comic book guy, and you should be ashamed for even suggesting that he should stay away from making comic book movies. Most people who do these types of movies aren't fans of the comics. Sam Raimi is a rare exception, and I'd gladly see him make another superhero film - DC or Marvel. So shut up. And if you think Raimi ruined Spider-Man, I don't think you know who and what Spider-Man is. Raimi's Spider-Man is all about the consequence of great power and how it affects one man's life, how much hardship he has to endure and remain true to his morals. That's Spider-Man. I'm not even talking about how comic-book-y were the action scenes in those movies. Before Raimi, there weren't superhero movies who actually did all of those crazy set pieces and fight scenes we now take for granted. Spider-Man jumping on the buildings while chasing Dock Ock on the train is the true comic book moment come-to-life.
@J T 1. The answer: He didn’t. As you might’ve known by looking at the writing credits for those movies on Wiki or IMDB, Sam Raimi did not write any of the Spider-Man movies himself, but merely contribute to some story elements. Contrary to your point, Spider-Man 3, which Sam Raimi publicly admitted to be a bad film, doesn’t change the fact that Spike was responsible for the death of Uncle Ben. Flint Marko was merely a second party in that crime. 2. Because that idea was already done in an old Spider-Man script that James Cameron wrote back in the 90s, from which 2002 movie took bunch of ideas from - one of which were the organic web-shooters. And Spider-Man already had organic web in the comics when he was fused with the symbiote suit, which was creating its own web. 3. Power Rangers are a group of teenage superheroes who were given magical & superhuman abilities by a mysterious entity known as Zordon, and they also drive mecha robots that can transform into one giant robot. Green Goblin in the Spider-Man movies is a businessman/scientist named Norman Osborn, who developed superhuman strength and dual personality after an unsuccessful experiment, after which he puts on a ridiculous Halloween outfit, flies on a sci-fi version of the Aladdin's carpet, and throws pumpkin-looking bombs at people. I’m not sure where the parallel between the two is. 4. Are you serious? That’s literally what Dock Ock is all about. He is a man of science. Octavius’s main trait in the comics was the fact that he felt underappreciated and rejected his whole life. Like in the movie, in the comics he wanted to make a break-through in science to prove everybody wrong. The 1994s Spider-Man cartoon used the exact same plot for Otto’s first appearance on the show. 5. Harry Osborn who is driven by hate towards Peter Parker, who is tormented by his father’s ghost, who turns himself into the second Goblin to take revenge on Peter for his father’s death, but who at the end sacrifices himself to save Peter after he realizes his wrongdoings? Pretty much following the exact same path as the comic book Harry, up to the final words he says being directly taken from the iconic J. M. Demmatties’s Spectacular Spider-Man 200 issue? Literally both versions of the character say “You’re my best friend” before they die. 6. The one thing that is truly horrible is your shallow criticisms and your arrogant ignorance. 7. Your shallow criticisms continue, as you’re unable to even properly describe what those films are about. The first film is about responsibility. The second film is about acceptance of responsibility. The third film is about forgiveness. The first film ends with Peter rejecting MJ for her own safety. The second film ends with Peter and MJ accepting each other and coming together. The third film ends on an ambiguous note, as we don’t know whether they will be together again or separated. Those films are different in each and different way But what I find really aggravating is how someone (you) who seems to be a fan of Arkham Knight’s character would throw shade at Raimi’s Spider-Man for retconning certain backstories to create a basis for the new story. I don’t remember Jason Todd being an evil Iron Man knock off named Arkham Knight in any of the comics, yet you seem more than fine with that concept in the Arkham series of games, as you made it your profile picture. In short, pot, meet kettle. Your criticisms are extremely shallow and you don’t know what you’re talking about. Sam Raimi is an amazing director and he deserves every bit of respect from the comic book community he can get.
Shit, how can they just toss this masterpiece? they should do like a stand alone GREEN GOBLIN movie like they did with the JOKER just so we can see this thing being put to use
the MCU NEEDS TO USE THIS for their version of the green goblin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am posting this in every green goblin mask YT video!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we need to start a petition !!!!!!!!!
Damn, such a wasted opportunity, Epic emotion animatronic mask, traded out with a piece of sharp matted plastic. Not to mention the shity skin cancer Goblin fucker from the new films(hahahaha Reboot) Creativity stamped out because of intended children audience and comfort needs :/ Always hope we'll get something better soon
I Agree with you man, but too me the guy that plays as the goblin in movie, the amazing Spider-Man 2 reminds me of a goblin on crack, but when you said "shitty skin cancer" I started laugh Damn, that was funny XD!!!!!!
+Lalo Hernandez doesn't it kinda suck that in TASM 2 the guy who played Green Goblin was actually supposed to have make up to make him look like a Goblin sorta like this. I would've loved to see it. But you know Sony has to have their way.
Damn. I would've preferred this over the power ranger suit but I understand that this would be harder to work with. Shame. They should've used this method for Amazing Spider-man 2 instead of putting Dane Dehaan in that hideous makeup.
was that for one of the movies? It looks so amazing! And I bet most kids would love it...more than the cyber goblin of the first movie or the lame amazing spiderman 2 goblin. I hope someday they use something like that. He's my favorite villain of all.
Wow. You really made him scary while still partially human. I seriously hope this will get used in something, because it totally works. What a villain!
This is what they should do in the MCU when they bring in Green Goblin. Maybe mocap, but with how much better technology and make up have gotten, I bet it could be done with a real, physical mask like this one.
I like that helmet! But I think back then they thought it would be to creepy. I was 7 when Spiderman came out and I would have had nightmares if they used that mask!
I really wish they used this. Kids aren't always scared of things, which is something studios do not understand. This is more true to the comics and just overall more cooler looking. The Green Goblin is supposed to be a psychotic, scary, mad man. This would have really shown it.
as a fan, i have to admit that this mask is damn good, but the actual costume that we had is way more relatable to the universe that raimi's spiderman is settled in
Wow wow wow esperen esperen!!! Acabó de tener una gran visión!! :D.
+kyle brody I've heard that it was Willem Dafoe who chose not to wear the mask because he stated that it was too uncomfortable. I don't think they didn't use it because of the kids because the director Sam rami is known for his dark movies.
Imagine a scene where Norman Osborne is designing his suit.. "oh yeah.. hmm this mask is too scary for the kids I better go and... make it like a robot party mask.. yeah.."
+Mahmoud Qabazard Horrible. I would wear that "uncomfortable" mask if I knew in the end I would be making easy money. Hell I think the average person would wear it for a movie and be remembered for it.
1:46 to 2:00 That was creepy but dope man, I really wish they used this design instead of the armor style look and they had a LOT of concept green goblin suits and most of them were better than the final suit in my opinion
I grew up with the original Spider-Man movies and was 6 when the first film came out. I would have for sure have preferred to have seen this goblin looking back as an adult now but people also need to remember that the goblin mask in the movie was better marketing being that it resembled a power ranger villian mask and at the time power rangers was popular and this would allow them to sell more toys and merchandise and appeal to kids.
It hurts they didn´t use this Goblin in the movie, man! This is just amazing. They did The Amazing Spiderman 2 and again we got a shitty Green Goblin. Sad.
I mean if they would have went with how the Ultimate comics have Goblin sure, but I never had an issue with the mask in Raimi's Spider man. A mask that moved with the characters expression is something that can be done in animation or printed media that I don't think can be properly shown in a live action film.
so, they took this out of the film because it could scare children? seriously? i mean, the movie wasn't that child-friendly to begin with, it wouldn't have made any difference to me as a kid, he doesn't look that much creepier like this, and looks so much better.
I will always wonder why they covered Willem Dafoe's face in that movie. Biggest missed opportunity of all time. Audiences have had no problem believing that masks can perfectly represent a face for decades; would have been like the masks in Mission Impossible.
Me too. Even though William Dafoe was scary as hell; the helmet was a big letdown.
Remember that scene when he confronts Spider-Man and he slides the lenses up just to show Dafoe's performance through the mask? Goes to show they needed his facial expression from the beginning
Willem Dafoe's own face looks like such a mask, they could have just painted his face green. Taking away that face was a mistake
*NWH*
Well, it took almost 20 years but they've finally fixed that mistake!
why the hell was this not used
1. According to studios, it would "scare children"
2. It was uncomfortable to wear
Darian Iwinski it would "scare"children? pfff, that's load of bull. on the contrary, it's good to have children face their fears, and what better way than by having spider-man hold your hand through it.
The Bumbling Idiot Basically, clueless corporate assholes doing what they do best. Fucking things up.
Darian Iwinski its a villain ..it supose to scare kids..they would grow up feeling that nostalgia fear from the goblin when they watch again ......like me when i saw the joker from 86..
The Great Agitator corporate retards is what you mean ..they only think about money.
I love how extreme the expressions are in this. The "wicked smile" is INSANE!
Oh man, this looks so awesome! I really wish they had gone with this, it's so emotive and creepy!
+Rick Beck I would like to wear this in comic con and I don't even cosplay
Nirvezz lol same here
This is superior in every way to what they came up with in the film.
Yess it can move with face its great. I always though in movie that goblin lacks face movements. I would prefer classical goblin suit.
It looks amazing but i’m sure the process of getting it on and off would be torture.
Why didn't they go with this design? Its scary, and far more like the original Goblin.
because it made no sense in context of the script. In the context of the script, the mask is a modified flight helmet.
plus on top of that, dafoe said the mask itself wasn't comfortable at all lol
He could have not used that script, like they must have done with some scenes, and show a short flashback in wich he tears a part of the helmet to put the "latex" in place...
then change the script, literally wouldn't take very long to change that small aspect of the goblins origins instead of a helmet say it mutated him since that's what it basically did, the flight suit can just be for the body or his crazy ass simply modified the suit to look like his goblin features. like every super-powered comic character makes a costume to suit their powers or personality.
@SUBTLE CUP HOLDER. Spider-Man was rated PG-13.
Imagine if marvel studios actually uses this type of mask
Ha! Don’t make me laugh. That’ll scare the mental 8 year olds too much. The Goblin in the MCU will probably wear a birthday hat and a tutu and even that will be too scary. This mask would scar MCU fans for life. Just like watching a good movie.

Guess what? It still the same
guys who make such masks and stuff have my full respect :D
The design is awesome and I would love to see a final version of this in action. However, I'm not 100% convinced this would have worked in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies. Maybe in Marc Webb's franchise?
No this could only work I the MCU if they went with the ultimate comics route for a new version of the Green Goblin
This would totally work in Raimi's Spider-man. His universe was more comic-booky than any other live-action adaptation.
The very thought of Willem Dafoe wearing this beauty while playing the Green Goblin is one that is certainly a missed opportunity.
Yes they say they didnt use this because of scariness and PG13 but I disagree. Even spiderman 1994 cartoon goblin that kids watch is identically scary as this. This is perfect green goblin if this mask was complete with cloting
willem dafeo himself said that the mask looked silly like a halloween mask.
Not only is this 100x better than the Power Ranger-style costume used, but it's better than anything CG could do.
Abso-bloody-lutley.
imagine you're the guy who built this thing with full dedication and then it gets scrapped and your work ends up only on youtube
who made the decision to dump this and just use a damn motorcycle helmet
+FreakShow stop motions Sony. They told Sam Raimi it was to scary for a kids movie.
+FreakShow StopMotions

Spider-Man Deleted Scenes Blame the idiots at Sony.
It was Dafoe. He didn't like it for some reason or another.
+Nix Nightbird I've read about his experience with the mask once, I believe he said it was too uncomfortable for him which then made the costume designers make a power rangers goblin.

Thanks for sharing this. It's amazing!
Marvel Studios would have green lit this mask with a wicked costume
1 2 Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Spider-man.
1 2 so what's a proper mask?
+1 2 You're a dumbass, they all wear "proper masks" (whatever that is suppose to mean)
+ExtraRareTrumpSteak So... How much do you hate that Marvel Studio's Spider-man with movable eyes like in the comics in the Captain America: Civil: war film. If Namor was made he would probably complain about how Namor doesn't wear the proper black undies.
OH MY F*CKING GOD!
WHY THE F*CK WASN'T THIS USED IN RAMI'S MOVIE!
This was a million times better than the stupid helmet. Why Rami, you like horror and scary stuff, and this was a comic book nightmare fuel.

I heard Dafoe didn't want to have the moving mask
1:55 That's...unsettling.
I love it!
God please let this be in the new reboot! Sure it'll make children cry in the movie theatre, but it'll be gfreat!
+everyany5000 I would be surprised if they didn't. Because Marvel has done well for the fans so far. I hope they use this mask.
Better than the robot suit of the movie.. >:(
*****What's the problem with that? I remember Danny Devito as Oswald Cobblepot was a success.

That was only a cartoon
nathan Bellic
But it was all there was for more than 10 years in other media besides the comics.
*****
He was also never an Emo and I'm upset about that.
That's the stuff of nightmares!! O.O
Thats one of the reasons why the mask was not in the movie
Eriq Witherspoon That's a shame though. It looks like it's straight out of the comics.
Ikr
they should totally go for something like this in the new mcu Spider-Man movies.
Yeah that would be cool

Best Green Goblin EVER
We need this Goblin now more than ever.

why did you not use this thing instead of that damn helmet!!!!????
You guys. . . This stuff is astounding. All the creativity and work that goes into your stuff. . . It shows.
Hopefully Marvel Studios uses this... Or better yet bring back Raimi and make the Spider-man he wanted without Sony on his butt anymore
But now he'll have Marvel Studius in his butt.
Victor Vaz and we all know the kind of movies marvel studios cransk out right?:P

Those films are different in each and different way
But what I find really aggravating is how someone (you) who seems to be a fan of Arkham Knight’s character would throw shade at Raimi’s Spider-Man for retconning certain backstories to create a basis for the new story.
Imagine this mask saying "hello my dear" to MJ at the building?
the MCU NEEDS TO USE THIS for their version of the green goblin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am posting this in every green goblin mask YT video!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we need to start a petition !!!!!!!!!
I actually think this would have been better than the mask used in the film. Another amazing job!
Damn, such a wasted opportunity, Epic emotion animatronic mask, traded out with a piece of sharp matted plastic. Not to mention the shity skin cancer Goblin fucker from the new films(hahahaha Reboot)
Creativity stamped out because of intended children audience and comfort needs :/
Always hope we'll get something better soon
I Agree with you man, but too me the guy that plays as the goblin in movie, the amazing Spider-Man 2 reminds me of a goblin on crack, but when you said "shitty skin cancer" I started laugh Damn, that was funny XD!!!!!!
+Lalo Hernandez doesn't it kinda suck that in TASM 2 the guy who played Green Goblin was actually supposed to have make up to make him look like a Goblin sorta like this. I would've loved to see it. But you know Sony has to have their way.
Angel Chavez Damn Sony people!!!
Wrong Answer
Yeah the make-up artist could have won an Oscar for his work
That looks amazing. Much better than what was in the film.
Damn. I would've preferred this over the power ranger suit but I understand that this would be harder to work with. Shame. They should've used this method for Amazing Spider-man 2 instead of putting Dane Dehaan in that hideous makeup.
indeed!
man, this looks Awesome!
looks amazing
This Green Goblin is awesome
WHY WASN'T THIS USED? way cooler than either movie's end product
was that for one of the movies? It looks so amazing!
And I bet most kids would love it...more than the cyber goblin of the first movie or the lame amazing spiderman 2 goblin.
I hope someday they use something like that. He's my favorite villain of all.
Why did they not use this ?!
DAMN YOU DAFOE
Derrick Gulledge IS THAT TRUE!?!? IT IS DAFOE'S FAULT!?
i'm almost crying man, i can't believe it!
Spiderman would have been sooo much better!
Dafoe really is Da foe
This was EXCELLENT!! Marc Webb if you're reading this, PLEASE do somthing very similar to this for the green goblin!
Wow, looks scary and awesome, but also expensive and hard to use.
Hola! :D
Darth Reverse - ¡Hola! ¿Cómo llegaste acá?
Juan Pablo Leal Velasco gRUNgeroficial
Darth Reverse - Igual.
Yup. You definitely have a point there. I think that's why they didn't use in the end.
OMG SUCH A DAMN SHAME THEY DIDNT GREEN LIT THIS !!
I did like the costume design that was used in the First one, but this one however looks so well done with animatronics and the expressions on it.
Why would you need a mask when you have Willem Dafoe's face?
+Tychoxi lol just paint his face green
AndyWithChicken lol I didn't mean it in a such bad way, just that he can be creepy if he wants to!
+Tychoxi Yeah but.. that reply Flame of Udun said was hilarious.
+Flame of Udun Bahaha. Now I can not.
Nirvezz lol I didn't mean it in a bad way either. No disrespect to Dafoe, but the man has a scary face lol. Great for villainous roles
Incredible work guys! You are the best in the business !!
They should have kept that costume!
Wow. You really made him scary while still partially human. I seriously hope this will get used in something, because it totally works. What a villain!
They need a petition to use this in the new mcu.
This mask looks scary awesome!!! I want one.
So expressive!!!!! better than CGI crap today!!!!!
This would've been way better than the Power Ranger look in the final film!
This is what they should do in the MCU when they bring in Green Goblin. Maybe mocap, but with how much better technology and make up have gotten, I bet it could be done with a real, physical mask like this one.
WHY THE HELL ARE THEY NOT USING THIS!??!?!?
+jonathan gonzalez children need to be scared once in a while
***** What? It helps them deal with harsh realities later in life.
i CANNOT believe this...the Green Goblin is my favorite Spider-Man villain...this would have been TEN times better!!!
I like that helmet! But I think back then they thought it would be to creepy. I was 7 when Spiderman came out and I would have had nightmares if they used that mask!
I don't know what their reason was not to use it, but it couldn't have been too creepy. Did you see Jack Nicholson's Joker?
Nightmares are memorable. therefore making the villain more believable and engaging. :)
fuck this was awesome
+Kevin Varela a mi no me engañas :v tu vienes del video de grunger :v
+david mena ja ja ja como sabes??
tu nombre en español te delata xD
I really wish they used this. Kids aren't always scared of things, which is something studios do not understand. This is more true to the comics and just overall more cooler looking. The Green Goblin is supposed to be a psychotic, scary, mad man. This would have really shown it.
as a fan, i have to admit that this mask is damn good, but the actual costume that we had is way more relatable to the universe that raimi's spiderman is settled in
I disagree. You only think that because it's the one you are used to seeing in the movie.
Sweet zombie jesus, that is what Green Goblin needs to look like in future films.
1:48 That single money shot is worth making entire feature for.
***** :v
smilealwais smile jajajaja :v
Wow wow wow esperen esperen!!! Acabó de tener una gran visión!! :D. :D
Mario Teodoro Muy creepy sin duda :S
marvelous! how the freaking hell wasn't this the used version. that would have been insanely close to the comics. damn...
If the Green Goblin is ever in the new series of movies, they should totally bring this back and finally take advantage of it!
Why the fuck didn't they use that!!!! Fucking Sony:Ruining Spider-Man since 2002!
Seriously. Infuriating.
+George Tarantino Too much frightening for the kids I suppose
+kyle brody I've heard that it was Willem Dafoe who chose not to wear the mask because he stated that it was too uncomfortable. I don't think they didn't use it because of the kids because the director Sam rami is known for his dark movies.
Imagine a scene where Norman Osborne is designing his suit.. "oh yeah.. hmm this mask is too scary for the kids I better go and... make it like a robot party mask.. yeah.."
+Mahmoud Qabazard Horrible. I would wear that "uncomfortable" mask if I knew in the end I would be making easy money. Hell I think the average person would wear it for a movie and be remembered for it.
not using this was one of the greatest mistakes in cinema history
CyberNinjaZero I don't think they regret not using it, the movie was already a success
1:46 to 2:00 That was creepy but dope man, I really wish they used this design instead of the armor style look and they had a LOT of concept green goblin suits and most of them were better than the final suit in my opinion
One question - WHY?
+Graveyard №6 it wasn't kid friendly enough.
emotions didnt react quick enough, it was too expensive to develop, and like the other guy said, wasnt kid friendly enough
+Feny William defoe didn't want to wear it also
I grew up with the original Spider-Man movies and was 6 when the first film came out.
Sad.
rodrigo suarez .
This is 10000000 better than the power ranger outfit in the actual movie and the gargamel shitty look of the reboot's goblin
It would literally be a crime if this wasnt used in Amazing spiderman 3. The expression in the face captures to comic goblin perfectly.
I could't agree more! Especially since the tech was there to do it that way!!
this should have been the Goblin in Andrew Garfield's Spider Man
+Connor Bowles Glad it wasn't wasted on a crap film like TASM 2...hopefully Marvel Studios will go with this for the MCU Green Goblin.
+JurassicRex95 That would be amazing.
+Connor Bowles Now we will say. "MARVEL STUDIOS MAKE IT HAPPEN NOW"
JurassicRex95 TASM2 had a good spider man unlike the old movies😂
I want the next Spiderman film to have this Goblin and to be brutal and dark, like the final fight from Spiderman 1.
I mean if they would have went with how the Ultimate comics have Goblin sure, but I never had an issue with the mask in Raimi's Spider man. A mask that moved with the characters expression is something that can be done in animation or printed media that I don't think can be properly shown in a live action film.
Wow, that change from sad to mad is unbelievabely intense O_O
Why are there so many fucking non English comments?! Awesome video, by the way!
It's called Spanish and because freedom of speech and the first amendment
Cause' a famous youtuber in latin america made a video about this
because the are more languajes than just english.
Wow!! Just Wow. If only this were the goblin that made it into the movies.
Amalgamated knocked it out of the park... as usual.
so, they took this out of the film because it could scare children? seriously?
i mean, the movie wasn't that child-friendly to begin with, it wouldn't have made any difference to me as a kid, he doesn't look that much creepier like this, and looks so much better.
