    This further shows Bears coaches don't know how to get a QB ready for gameday. Short week TNF is always sloppy, but Bagent looked significantly more nervous and overthinking things than his first game. The longer these coaches have with a QB the worse they get.

    I’m so happy you say this at 4:02. Anticipation is just not a part of Getsys coaching apparently. It’s almost like they’re taught to throw it late. It’s seems like for some reason the longer Getsy is in someone’s ear the worse they play. He wasn’t doing a lot of this hesitancy stuff before

    • @darkprometheus
      @darkprometheus Рік тому +6

      i don't think they are being taught to throw it late but they are being taught that in order to throw the ball, they have to see what they want to throw to which takes anticipation out of the play. I get the feeling what is being taught is snap, drop back, see the WR, throw to WR.

    We have to remember he is Division II rookie playing in his 5th game, starting 4th that the bears staff didn't give any first team reps to until Fields go injured even though Fields missed time in each of his first two years with injuries, Bagent was just running scout team until that time. Very short sighted by the coaching staff. Seems like if he sorts out his feet, there is some promise of an NFL career. That Chargers game unsettled Bagent a bit, he's not used to getting hit by players of this size and strength, he certainly doesn't want to get hit over and over again. Feel like Bagent could be interesting project for a coach like Sean Payton if their path come together. Lucas Patrick at center is a black hole on the offensive line, that Chase Claypool trade robbed Bears of possible starting center in this past draft.

    Bagent played this game like a QB who was instructed explicitly that if the the throw isn't PAINFULLY OBVIOUSLY open, DO NOT under any circumstances throw it. The 3 INTs last game spooked him some for sure and the coaching staff very likely figured that if they just avoid a turnover then they are better than the Panthers and win so told him to just make only simple safe throws. Hopefully he gets more chances later on because the underlying skills are there and show up on film. Comparing him to Fields is night and day the speed he gets from snap to throw and he does usually throw with more anticipation than he showed against CAR. His pocket awareness and ability to move in the pocket and readjust to throw is lightyears ahead of Fields. It shows up on the stat lines... with the same o-line protecting him Bagent has only been sacked on 3.4% of his dropbacks where Fields... is up in the rafters at 12.9%... and that number has actually brought his career sack rate DOWN. Sacks are drive killers and Fields to date has averaged being sacked at least once every other set of downs. It's no shock that his career record is 6/25 and Bagent is 2/2 just on the virtue of avoiding those backbreaking sacks alone.

    Your analysis was an eye-opener my first time watching.
    #TysonBagent17 is indeed missing the best open throws, but let's not forget he hasn't had the benefit of being the number one in camp and all the coaching and film room work.
    Let's #CaveatEmptor staff do a breakdown like you've done - he's capable he just needs more reps.
    As for #JustinFields my guess is he doesn't even come close to this level of competence, and never will. They need to use their 2024 top end draft pick for one of the top QBs coming out (and NOT crybaby Caleb)

    1) With how much he scrambles, bounces, throws on the run, I don't think he trusts his arm strength on plays that aren't him clearly pre-determining the shots off one read. Which is key to my second point:
    2) I've heard you many times across many videos say "that's open in the NFL." I don't think he either believes that, realizes that, or trusts himself to make those throws since they don't seem "open" to him.

      Thing is, Bagents first two games he was throwing with anticipation. The last two he seems to be more apprehensive. Maybe info overload, mental fatigue, or even just a rookie being a rookie. He has it in him to be a very good qb in this league. Might only play 4 games a year due to frequent starter injuries these days..which is a lot in comparison to yesteryear. You know dude can move the team up and down the field. I’m happy with him as a reliever. :)
      With that said… he’s proven to be a valuable backup. Time to get the starter back out there. Dude made a few promises he can’t keep while sitting on the bench.

    I really hope he returns and plays better next time… Better anticipation, timing, putting more loft on the ball so we can drop it in the right place if he’s throwing deep towards the end zone… I never played any college ball, I wasn’t even a high school quarterback… But I would practice and have games with some guys who are on the football team, and of course in gym class I was always the quarterback but I would be making throws the same way you’re criticizing… Throwing the ball in the air on time it’s almost like a natural clock in your head not only do you have to judge the speed you have to judge the arc, have touch, knowing where to lead the receiver throw the ball before he even turns around so that when he turns around in the ends on the balls right in his hands… I had an exercise where I would take a small wheel like a bicycle wheel and from about 50 yards away my friend would roll that bicycle wheel across the asphalt at different speeds and I’d have to throw football and hit the bicycle wheel as a target practice but you have to judge the speed, timing, release points, accuracy, velocity etc.… It was a really good exercise… And it did help when I was playing football… Just in gym class I would beat the quarterbacks who are playing on our varsity squad… They didn’t have the same type of computing power in their brains to know when to throw the ball, the speed/velocity, placement etc.… Nothing difficult, I wasn’t doing anything special… I was doing what’s supposed to be part of the game… Not that big of a deal but for some reason a lot of these guys don’t understand that… But I really hope Justin and Tyson can eventually get there. By the way Great stuff again thank you so much I appreciate it

But in his defense, guys seems statics and don’t always work back to the ball. And many don’t know how to get off of their defender’s line especially in a scramble drill. I was shocked when the usually on point JT said #2 was "rightfully acting this way" as that BS body language after every other play seems like it should all be at the latest left in high school as a person really should have learned to..... oh IDK..... control their emotions a bit better.
    Obviously, these guys are uber competitive so an occasional slip up is entirely understandable but acting like an overgrown child whose Mommy won't buy him a candy bar in the checkout lane 15x in a single game is outright laughable. Additionally, it is obviously not going to help an already overwhelmed rookie when their best WR is showing them up in a primetime game time and again. Keep in mind this was/is a very developmental rookie QB who was playing against D2 defenses this time last year and was not supposed to see the field for at least a season or two.

    I always love your breakdowns of the various QB’s in the league. I am a long time Bears fan and I can honestly say that once again, Fields and Bagent will go nowhere with this team. They both have been coached their whole lives, but when you get to the NFL level, coaching these young QB’s needs to be at the highest level. This organization has nothing to offer these guys. The routes are way to confusing for them. They need simple backyard football plays designed to get the ball out quick and accurate. I get you need to air it out to keep the defense honest, but the confusion of these plays on tape is mind blowing. The offensive line is really confused at times as well. I love watching your videos, but obviously hate them as well. It’s amazing how you see guys open on tape all the time, but ultimately it’s the QB that needs too see it in real time.

Players leave and immediately do better. But Justin fields is the problem? Bagent has regressed,so by your logic of could would should isn't he the problem? Justin set a qb rushing record last year with no wr and during a roster tear down. This year he and Tyson have supposedly looked the same and this video is literally littered with JT saying they have many of the same issues with turn downs bad reads bad drops and no anticipation. You are so dedicated to your narrative that you can't even keep track of your arguments. You can't even remember the video u are commenting on and what you heard in it. Furthermore he also threw for an 80 percent completion percentage against Denver. He us an elite deep ball thrower and has been all his career. Tyson throws tons of pick worth passes and again jt showed it here. And finally who has fields blamed? Please don't say coaches because that would show, yet again you don't know what you are talking about. I listened and watched that entire press conference and he said the word coaching to answer a specific question before elaborating that it was him trying to be a perfectionist.
