This is surprisingly anxiety inducing. Just being let loose in this empty, exceedingly dark environment is unsettling in a way US haunts and attractions can't manage. Unfortunately, the truth is, our typical patrons would wreck the place. Americans can't really be left unsupervised. (I say as someone who's been in the industry for years)...
This recording is made by someone working at Gasten who walked through when there were no guests there. It's not the normal experience for a guest. I worked there for a summer and on slow days, I would sometimes walk through just like this. There was always something new to discover in that place. So much wonderful detail and humor. But when we had guests they were made to keep their hands on the shoulders of the person in front and told to never open doors or touch anything, etc. Also we, the ghosts were always present and there were a bunch of cameras and always someone monitoring them live and we always had a manager on site who would go in and remove any guest who misbehaved. So all in ll, a pretty well coordinated and "well oiled" machine.
