Thats where i grew up. When it was Showbiz Pizza Place i bugged my mother practically daily to go there. Once, she actuality told me the place burned down so I'd stop housing her. Lol

I grew up in Altoona and the stage just recently got redone in the past 10 years it used to be a lot better it’s all new versions of characters
I grew up and still live around here and I have very distinct memories of the band singing 1D's That's what makes you beautiful and Owl City's It's always a good time. And for some reason that's all I can remember them singing.
this stage used to be so well maintained now its kinda finally going away
Poor Jasper wanted a handshake from Munch at 4:50 but was left hanging....

This store opend in 1983 and it converted to chuk e cheese in the early 90s and they got rid of munch jr pizzacam mr moon and mr building on phase 5 and the Showbiz regional director for this store was Jim winters
I kind of find it interesting how this location got rid of the green curtain valence on the sides. The green and yellow curtain valence usually drop down to both sides of the stage. Also, you’ve got to get to Darien IL as well as Kedzie IL Chicago. They both have the weird Studio C Beta on a 3 stage. I know that the 3 stage animatronics aren’t on these stages but it’s interesting to check out. I think it’s called the “3.5 stage”

This was the one I went to in the late 90s/early 2000s. Definitely perfer the way the stage looked back then with the make believe sign in the middle. Of course, it's waaay better than it will be if they do get rid of them. Would love to go back before they do, sadly being 2 hours away I don't plan on being in Altoona again anytime soon. Got to revist here around 2015 but didn't stay long enough to really check out the stage unfortunately. One thing I was always fascinated by were the old movie parody posters on the walls. I somewhat vividly still remember a Crocodile Dundee one that creeped me out for whatever reason....aaaand I just looked up the image online and it's somehow even more unsettling than I remember hahaha
For anyone wndering the history of this store here is the comment fot you. This store had originally opened in 1983 and was a standard Showbiz Pizza back in the 1980s. Then in circa 1989 they had gotten the late 1980s Showbiz/CEC remodel ahere they replaced the old black yellow and red signs and paint job with the green red and white checkered paint job and signs along with tbe RAE parody posters. Then in 1991 they recieved Concept Unification where The Rock Afire was turned into Munch's Make Believe Band. Then in 1992-1993 they had done more things to make them like CEC by replacing the Billy Bob kiddie rides with CEC kiddie rides and walling off the sportsroom and removing the things that were inside of it getting the CEC oil paintings along with charging their name from Showbiz Pizza to Chuck E Cheese's Pizza. Then in circa 1996 Chuck got a new latex mask made to look like the Duncan Brannan Chuck instead lf the Scott Wilson Chuck like the mask they had before. Then in 2000 they got Chuck a plastic mask. Then in 2001 they had gotten the phase 2 art replaced with phase 3 art along with all the sinage from late 80s Showbiz/phase 2 all replaced with phase 3 sinage. Then in circa 2002 they got Mr Munch a plastic mask and the new Munch Jr mask along with other silicone fabric and plastic cosmetics to replace the latex ones for Chuck and Munch and got Chuck his avenger era cosmetics. Then in circa 2007 they upgraded to phase 4 by getting all of the phase 4 standard artwork like those uncanny looking kid posters and the avenger era CEC character posters of course the tickets and rubbing token and they had re-painted the walls purple and walled off the showroom. Then in 2011-2012 they had done a large stage update by getting all of the latex cosmerics on Helen, Japser, and Pasqually replaced with plastic ones and also removed all of the prop characters. Then in circa 2013 they had removed Chuck's hat and replaced his green shlrts with blue jeans and removed his TV and put the old MMB sign in it's place and put a new smaller TV in the place where the MMB sign used to be. Ever since then nlthing new in terms of updates has happenned.
Quite thorough! Seems that the animatronics have been breaking down here, though, sadly.
Actually, the Altoona, PA location didn't upgrade to Phase 4 until circa. 2011. When I had my 4th birthday that year in there twice, the place was still in Phase 3.
Also, the Munch's Make Believe Band sign didn't take place where the vintage TV was until around 2019. Same goes to the flat screen TV being at the top of the middle of the stage.

I love your CEC videos so much. I like the animatronic where Chuck E looks like a mouse instead of a rat. The rat ones are way outdated.
A fun fact when you were talking about all the stages getting 2.0 next year. The Visalia location will stay until 2024. From what the manager told me.

@@SetsStreetsEats yes they will. The recently got new parts from another stage that got 2.0 so they will be in better condition and they were only aired down for that day to probably make some mild repairs on them.
I believe Tallahassee is getting it this month, Billings is getting at some point this year or next year, Visalia is getting it either in late 2023 or January 2024, and Pineville is getting it at some point, either this month or somewhere between later of this year or early 2024. Altoona, hmmm.... It's a mystery. This is probably a franchised-owned location, not sure but, I'll be so upset if it's not the last to remain the 3-stage becuz first of all, it's my local, and second, it has such good longevity, that's why it has some pretty impressive records. From I'm assuming, Altoona could have the last 3 stage. My dad even said that there's something special about this "place".
You should also visit Sun Valley, California their stage is amazing condition!
They still haven’t fixed the drum stick lol. I accidentally pulled it out and I pushed it back as far as I could and as you can see I didn’t get it very far back in.

From a young Chuck E. Cheese fan and me living in Pennsylvania is kind a hard to find nice or vintage stages because most of the animatronics in Pennsylvania are the ceramics and the ones I grew up with got the 2.0 model this year last year finding out there’s a three stage in my state even though is a 2-3 hour drive it’s still special to me that where I live is one of the last 5 three stages ever in America. ( and love your vids by the way ❤)

chuck was retrofitted from a rolfe mech, so yes!
@@chimeramanticore I know that but many Chucks got that arm mech removed and placed a standard downward arm mech in its place. I’m assuming this location just left the standard Ralph arm mech after concept unification
No, it was replaced during CU with a new arm mech, it seems like the arm twist has a sticky valve or the internal seal went bad.
At 6:23 it looks like Helen is one of those popular school girls who lean their head up and ignores the unpopular ones lol. Looks like she’s giving you zero attention 🤣

If I’m correct this will be removed in 2025 which i think is the longest time for the times of the 3 stages being removed, and if that’s true this will be the last 3 stage location, meaning by 2025 the rockafire explosion will be gone
The reason why it could take the longest time could be because it is possibly a franchise-owned location and has longevity records: The Last CEC Location Ever to Keep Helen's Latex Mask (Removed: January 2012), The Last US Location to Keep Jasper and Pasqually's latex masks (Removed: January 2012/2011), One of the Only Locations As of Right Now to Keep Any Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Signs Anywhere... Geez, I wonder if they're trying to keep the 3-stage as long as possible until after other 3 stages were removed. Would've make sense, either that, or it's because it's possibly a franchise-owned location.

I had my earliest memory is here!!! It was my 3rd birthday party and i had a blues clues cake 😂. I was scared of Munch as a kid and my dad brought me up close to the animatronics to see that they weren't scary. Also if i remember correctly the TV did used to be next to Chuck, and there was a moon animatronic. Haven't been back in years but I'll be sad the day the animatronics disappear.

I went to Phoenix’s today (because I live here), the animatronics are still there but it seems like they don’t move anymore.
That's interesting, I've been to New Orleans and Columbus GA in the last week and both their 3 stages and dead as well. I wonder if this is a corporate thing, seems like a crazy coincidence for 3 locations to be turned off but maybe it is.
I’ll be heading to the Phoenix (3 stage) location in a few weeks. I’ll see how the animatronics are doing.
The valley has two other locations in Goodyear and Chandler. These two are Studio C-Goodyear and Circles of Light-Chandler.

No the closest one would be in Barboursville West Virginia just below PA and that would be at Billy Bob's wonderland where you can still see the rock afire explosion in all its glory.

I just heard that this location will close by the end of May of 2024, to be remodled.
CEC's are still open while remodeling, they don't close.
