I never get tired of this performance. These young people love performing and playing music. And the fact that they are middle school students. BRAVO. Congratulations to the director and his focus on helping these young musicians achieve such success.
I was about to say an oboe with a gud tone is better than every oboe in my county Edit: we have a highly music driven county, specifically from 3 schools in band 2 have competitive marching bands and the third produces a gud amount of all county musicians with my school
there are only 2 people in my band that can play this song, Me (tuba and timpani) and my friend (trombone, trumpet and sometimes snare) i also wish our precussion was good like them, half of them are like 10 bars behind the rest of the band
@@Trash_can_Smash 6 months late, they all quit band (thank god) so I switched over to percussion and saved their asses and invited my friends that have never done percussion in their life and turned them into beasts! (I love you melody and lucy!!!)
Real I just did for a concert and I had to play that repeating part down so I could play the rest, I hear these little kids hitting some high notes, I couldn’t play a G on the staff comfortably until 10th
This is awesome. For middle schoolers to play technical passages is not that surprising as you can tell their are dedicated. But what blows me away is that at their age they were able to play with such musicianship.❤
I've never seen a less appropriate piece of literature for a middle school band. Middle school should be a time of development in tone and advancing musical reading skills. Although this band does have those aspects, compare this to a high school, college, and professional level bands and the difference is night and day. I don’t know where Lincoln is, but if it's in a richer area, such as Ann Arbor, Michigan, then it might explain why these kids are at the level they’re at. Parents have the money to give these kids private lessons. I give props to these kids for having such determination to play this piece, but I sense the director is teaching them to play this piece rather than build overall skills to make music.
i think you have to have alot of those things in order to even be able to attempt this piece which these kids clearly have. Extremely impressive technical abilities
Who knows where they are now? They’re probably playing with Hebron or some elite high school band. This is extremely impressive and kudos to the conductor and the whole band.
Holy guacamole. I’m in 8th grade advanced band and I’ve been begging my teacher if we could play this. We are a pretty good band also but he says we should wait until high school.
Although I may be a tiny 7th grader who plays the f horn, I'm so addictied to this piece that I'm learning it for fun. I have have of the lick down. I know, I’m weird😂
Most impressive part of the trombone feature is all 4 times were clean and it was trombone section not 1 person since it wasn’t 100% seamless but mostly seamless
The thing about this piece to me is that everything else up until the harmony at 4:36 is ok, I still dont care about everything behind 4:36 because thats the building point in the song. for 4 and a half minute they are builing, layering if you will up until 4:36. I'm not critizing if anyone thinks that it's just the composer creating a masterpiece, and i'm simply breaking it down to you. If you nail the harmony you nail the song, and that's what they did.
The most iconic part of this piece is the trombone feature and I feel like that wasn't done how it was supposed to, I gotta say, I think the trombone player could have done a better job in that piece. And did you notice how many flutes there were? I feel like they could have mixed it up a bit with some other instruments. But hey, overall the band was alright, but it could use some adjustments.
It’s all low brass( Tuba, Baritone/Euphonium, and trombone) which means there has to be *atleast* 5 people playing that part. And how you gonna complain that there are too many of one instrument ? You think middle schoolers are gonna learn an entire instrument for one song ? It doesn’t make any sense really...
The flute soloist KILLED it at the start dude, seriously!
and for middle school what the heck! 😂🔥
Both the director as well as the band itself are amazing for being able to play such a difficult piece, in middle school at that
This school feeds into Hebron
This is good, but they don’t have all the instrument for the piece. No oboe etc
They're playing this in MIDDLE SCHOOL?
my co-section leader in marching band says this piece is hard and yet a middle school played it so im like:
"most people got atleast 3+ years of exp so i dont see a reason why symphonic band can play this"
I was shocked as well
I could play grade 5’s in 7th grade I’ve gotten no where since then cause I don’t try anymore
i wish my band could this but we have two flutes and one trombone so it won’t work
@@ale_isanodd1no literally same we only have 2 flutes and a respectfully incapable trombone
