The main reason for posting another Vienna Frau is the presence in the cast of Jess Thomas, who sang the role of the Emperor in the 1964 premiere of the Karajan production. The only time he returned to sing the role in Vienna was for these two performances, therefore it’s frustrating that the recording is missing the first scene. As yet, this is all that has surfaced of the performance.
