Hi James, that kit sounds absolutely amazing! I think the mid tuning probably suits it best to my ear. A question about your tuning, do you tune by ear only? I have never been much good at ear tuning, as my ears are pretty knackered now. So I tend to use a drum dial which gives me fair results. It would be nice to know your figures from a drum dial, as tuning by ear is very broad when we talk about hi, mid, low tuning, and very much a personal interpretation. Also do you tune your bottoms higher or lower than your tops? Cheers.
Hi Ian! Unfortunately I have no experience using a drum dial myself, although I have played in sessions where the kit has been tuned using one, and I must say the kit did sound great! Yes I tune the bottom heads higher usually. Thanks for the comment 👍
Hi, James! I’m thinking about buying affordable drumkit with 20x14 kick for playing pop and country pop music mostly. This seems like a great choice however I have absolutely no experience with tulip wood. I might be wrong here but I guess that drumkit has kinda dry and concrete sound which might be great for mics but don’t you actually miss body/size/bulkness of the drums while playing? To put it in another words, isn’t this set meant for jazz really? Great video tho! Keep up the good work!
Hi Adam, I would highly recommend this kit! I wouldn't say this kit is dry sounding really, it is extremely versatile so it can be more jazz sounding if you like, but I would say with the stock heads, it's a Pop/Rock/Funk kit. The kick isn't the biggest sounding thing you can buy, but under mics live and studio it sounds great! I hope this helps 👍
Excelente Baterista!
Kit sounds incredible, but that demonstration was absolutely fantastic. Really good job bud!
Thanks so much Keelan!
Damn what snare its killer!
Ludwig 400 Supraphonic from the 60's 👍
Great playing James, great sounding kit, like your funkiness and the way you sneaked in a few Bonham triplets on the bass drum there nice!!!!
Thanks a lot Bhavesh! Good ear 👍

Is this kit available in drop D?
Hey Wilko, not too sure you'll have to check with your local depo! 👍
Hi James! I have a question for you. How many millimeters is thickness of the shell on toms and bass drum?
Hey Ivan, sorry I'm not too sure on that one. Maybe check the Natal site? 👍
cool
This kit or Yamaha Stage Custom?
Good question. The Yamaha is a great choice too, I would say this kit is more striking but they both sound fantastic for the price!
