I’m a planner! But not a do-er! Inaction, procrastination, worrying/anxiety about tasks, and time blindness are all things I suffer with!

I’m an adult who really needs to do this. Have been trying to think of what to focus on or how to start, and
I think this may be the place to focus. Just figuring out planning

Seth, I feel like you are a fly on the wall of my house because you just quoted my kids verbatim (except with out the whining annoyed voice) “Planners don’t work!” “The teacher already has it on line…” “I tried a planner last year and it didn’t work” “Last year my teacher gave me a planner and I never used it”
Thank you helping us understand our kids and those around us who struggle with EF!

This is 100% my son. So now what? Recognizing he has these struggles, how do I help him while still giving him the growing independence that a high schooler needs?

I'm an adult...middle-aged...never learned any of this in an organized way. So grateful for this video. ❤🎉

Thanks Seth! I forget how much we all must have learnt these skills too - feels affirming to recognize we all use a lot of skills every day.

Me, a 33yo woman, finally discovering what’s wrong with me 😂 I did well in school thanks to my mom who did all the executive functioning for me.
How do you learn how to get better at the “realistic perception” thing? I’ve been obsessed with planners for the past several years but have struggled to make them USEFUL. Realizing now it’s because I don’t really understand how long things will take. Or all the sub steps required. Leads to me writing what are really multi-step “projects” on a to-do list for the day

Hi Seth, I love your work. I discovered you early in my adhd parent journey. Recently I have become an Adhd coach ( ADDCA) and I’m working with teens, which I love. I really like this new series it’s really helpful in breaking down the ominous and mysterious concept of Executive function. I’ll be sure to share with my parents. Keep up the great work. Thanks

Everything you talked about describes my child to a tee. Planners don’t work, it’s on canvas is what I hear everyday. Do you try and make a child use a planner or accept he won’t use it and stop fighting?
