Thank you Dan! ❤ I have hit rock bottom, to the point where I am holding on to a constantly decreasing slither of hope... Yesterday I was ready to give up, I feel like a failure, as a father, as a businessman, as a partner and in myself. This video is a godsend! I have been following yoi for years, and learning all the way. But this will truly help me change! I'm still at rock bottom, but now I can try to rebuild ❤
Your message really touched my heart Joel. I'm so glad that the video came to you at a time you needed it most. Remember, rock bottom is a solid foundation to rebuild on. Feeling like a failure doesn’t mean you are one. Stay strong and keep going ❤💪
Thank you! I also watched the video on how to regin confidence, and that helped me also ❤ I will order your book and use that as a stepping stone to rebuild. Thank- you, for helping and sharing your wisdom! You are a true inspiration to me!
You will make it Joel! It is just harder when things are difficult in multiple areas of life vs when everything is stable fine and only business / career is challenging (or other way around). I also recommend watching all the other Dan’s videos related to motivation/resilience/emo health - ie one about BOAT, etc - i have most of them in my playlist linked below (i just set it to public) - it has some other stuff but if you scroll all the way down, you will see Dan’s videos): ua-cam.com/users/playlistlist=PLsl3mrAR4wpjKTjI6ngV2wDwzggiX_urk Also, highly recommend Stoicism books - the one i read recently is The Little Book of Stoicism - it is really good and to the point. Also, How to stop worrying and start living by Carnegie and The Upside of Stress by McGonigall (adversity chapter) Also, remember to learn and iterate - ie persevere but not do same exact things that night not have worked multiple times. All these societal standards are relative so dont feel like you have to have xyz in all areas of your life based on society tells or whatever - set your own standards / what is ok or not.. Remember that very many successful people went through total failures before becoming successful (probably most of them) Keep it up man - you will do fine!!
Hi there, had a complete mental breakdown and taken 4 years to recover. Friends and family say disappointed I wasn’t more resilient. It was a dark, dark time. No excuses, but I want to rocket past and achieve what was taken from me, from this mental stuff. Turning 40 and deciding I don’t want to give up. But I’m scared at this age. Your message is inspiring but I’m hesitant to take the first step. I can’t crash again. Also no idea where to go
Wow, your journey from a challenging point in life to where you are today is truly inspiring, Dan. I appreciate the insight you provide, especially about the importance of resetting and embracing Rock Bottom when necessary. It's a powerful reminder that sometimes we need that low point to truly propel us forward.
Embracing and learning from difficult moments, including what some might call "Rock Bottom," can indeed be a transformative experience. It's during these challenging times that we often discover our resilience, strength, and capacity for growth.
Great video and a great kick in the rear for some of us. For me, it's a switching of visions. I had a vision, coach, gameplan, and belief that I could create a successful Northern California outdoor lifestyle brand, but after 4 years of grinding at it, I might be looking at that reset. My other passion is helping swim coaches level up their game when coaching athletes, but I need help finding vision, coach, or gameplan for that one. Also, my identity plays massively into my hesitation to push too hard on this new path since I've spent so much effort being the Clothing Brand Guy. Gonna watch this one a few more times over the next few days and get myself back on track. Thanks, Dan!
Another impactful video, Dan! 🚀 Your insights on personal transformation are both practical and motivational. Here are my top three takeaways from "How To ACTUALLY Change Your Life": 1. Self-awareness First: Before any change can occur, understanding oneself, recognizing patterns, and acknowledging areas of growth is essential. It's the first step towards meaningful transformation. 2. Consistency Over Intensity: Real change doesn't come from short bursts of motivation but from consistent, daily actions aligned with our goals. Small, sustainable changes over time lead to profound results. 3. Surround Yourself with the Right People: Environment plays a massive role in change. Surrounding ourselves with individuals who uplift, challenge, and support us can significantly accelerate our personal growth journey. Thank you, Dan, for continually sharing wisdom that empowers us to elevate our lives. Your content is a beacon for anyone on the path of self-improvement. Keep the inspiration flowing!
For me, it's the reminder to create and hold a vision. Most of my life, I've tried to create a vision of getting stuff, but it's wasn't a powerful enough motivator. Lately I've been coming to realize, it's not about what I can get, rather it's about the people I can help. That just seems more compelling.
Solid, solid, solid info Dan! We’ve all heard the Bible verse about “without vision, the people perish.” Another interpretation says without vision, we “throw off restraints.” Vision leads to discipline. And, that thermostat is your STANDARDS. Every point is a great reminder… and it’s always a opportune time for a reset. I’m in!
Love the insightful reflection. You're absolutely right, vision isn't just about seeing the future but anchoring us in the present. Glad it resonated 👊
Thanks Dan. Love all your content! I'm a Startup founder (pre-revenue, building/testing an MVP consumer product). I'm an experienced Product guy, but I need a COACH to help me with raising an angel round and growth. Any suggestions?
Thx Andrew, glad you're enjoying the content! If you need help, my DMs in IG are open. Message me COACH and we can chat. Might have exactly what you're looking 👊
this is a great top level list but id love to see a breakdown of these ideas on a practical level, starting from rock bottom because that 0 to 1 step is the hardest. makes this list seem frivolous since they're the same sound bytes every guru drops without any depth. btw who has damn money for expensive ass crossfit? it just all comes off as tone deaf to the people this content might be useful for. Depth depth depth. Where is the meat?

Another banger video!!
My goals are so unusual I don’t know where to find a coach for my path
Accountability! It’s in our company’s tagline, but it wasn’t in mine as its CEO. Thanks!
Great takeaway 👊
Thermostat! Keep pushing forward Dan. :)
