Roy, thanks for giving of yourself. I happened upon you last year and took much of your self reflection and guidance to heart. You gave me the courage to trust myself and place black tarp over my small front yard. This raised many eyebrows in the neighborhood. Although I was worried about the neighbors, I should have focused on my inner circle.I planted 4 sesleria autumnalis, however shortly after my husband weed whacked them all!!!! I'm excited for the new season and coming to know my plants. In a few years -I'm excited knowing the weed whacker won't have a purpose any longer! Cheers!
I love the process. I can now see why you've shared in the sequences you've done. You make it look easy. And I can be fearless on paper! Thank you for sharing.
Your videos are so helpful. I'm so used to planting in straight lines and really need to break out that habit as it looks too structured. I'm looking for a naturalistic look, so thank you, again.
I bought your book. I live in north NJ. Where can I source these plants? I would also like insight into planting on a severe slope. I deal with pokeweed😖. I would welcome your thoughts. I live on a glacial ridge so the roots are down through large rocks and boulders. I have used glycophosphate (Round up) but still battle. I have read your book and watched your videos and thoroughly enjoyed them all. My goal was the lush landscapes pictured in your book, no more mulch, more plants are what I need. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I think the issue for me isnt how to design a square but rather flowerbed that incorporates a variety of them without losing an overall structure and making it look to mish mashed
Hi Roy, love the idea of putting the patterns together. Could you please do a few patterns for partial shade to shade? My garden borders on partial shade in the center of a mature oak and hickory forest. zone 5, NW Indiana. Thank you !

Another great video, Roy. It’s one thing to read your book, but to see you model the process brings it all to life. Thank you!
