Great coverage of some of the overlooked talking points. The settings sticking seems to have just shown up for me. Set it on 24fps and it remains after closing and reopening camera.

Great first look Anthony! I'm definitely looking forward to the comparison video with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I'm getting ready to upgrade my iPhone 13 and I've been kind of on the fence with the Google pixel phone. I had a pixel six pro and that thing overheated all the time.

Solid review! I've been really impressed with the 8 Pro so far... and am really impressed with their skintones. I also agree, I never turn on 10bit HDR, I hate that we have to change the settings each time, and dont understand why they didn't give a 24fps option with the front facing camera. Regardless, I'm happy with the blur mode now (iphone is still doing it better) but in general, I prefer the Pixel image over the 15 Pro Max!
Looks great and sounds good even without the mic. Alot better than my S21.
Pixel 8 Pro owner. I shot 1080/30 fps on a hot day in sunlight (90 degrees) for an extended period and while the phone didn't want to shut down like my earlier Pixels when it got too hot, it did start dropping frames and started shooting (without warning) in 24 fps.
How i can recived this lut?
Pixel 8 is already capable of 10 bit, if they could just add a Log mode already!
I would be okay with pixel video if it wasn't for the jarring jumps when switching cameras
