Excelente, excelente, excelente... a nivel de precisión, sonido, y más importante aún: de interpretación!... uff, maravilloso. Felicidades, sos un excelente intérprete. Viva Brouweeeer, además.
Your technique is so brilliantly controlled. It is raining outside my house today, as I listen I hear hints of the Cuban Landscape. Anyways, thank you Jorge.
***** I know your comment was months ago, but as for the Sonata's meaning: I believe that Brouwer said that this Sonata is about worlds colliding, both musical and cultural. One example of this is how cuban the rhythms are and how modern the harmonies are, while at the end of the piece this sort of hyper romantic theme comes abruptly in and out. It is the theme from Beethoven's pastorale symphony, a far cry from all the other things going on in this Brouwer sonata, but illustrating the fusion of ideas perfectly.
I mostly enjoy how legato this man's playing is. Many other guitarists would install small breaks in their playing (to be able to do big jumps etc.),but mr Arango doesn't seem to do that. Indeed, the "flow" of this piece is preserved in this interpretation. However, I must add that I have only heard Rovshan Mamedkuliev's version of this piece. I don't have alot to compare it with.
Fabulous playing. So expressive, so much control. The only criticism I could have is that his fingernails could maybe use a little sandpaper treatment. Does anybody else hear a little scratch in his tone from time to time?
Hey Ali! Just wanted to say that I love how you play this piece, I always come back to your version :) big hug

Impressive, to day the least.
In the meantime I've also checked out Graham Anthony Devine's version. Very good that one.
