On 6s with those electronics, you should get into 60’s. Try a 1644 prop. Mine did 65 with stock motor and 160firma esc. You also look like you’re running a bit wet.
he is tossing money at it first versus tuning! Eventually he will get a different prop and learn to tune the hull! Plus that battery is way to big for this hull!
I love everything your doing with this awesome job!! 👌 I wish I had soldiering skills like that. Honestly that prop is heavily off balance and could be putting wear on your shaft and motor bearings. As much as I want to see that run 8s I really suggest doing the prop next. The first thing most people do is change the prop or atleast balance it. I can't wait for the next video this is the way I would like to build mine so I can run it wide open in large area's and not worry about heat but also having the ability to prop up and run 8s for speed runs. Honestly that wiring job is awesome and people always mess that part up.
I can imagine the amp draw that set-up will have when you turn it up. It's already going past the limits of the 160amp spectrum 8s esc during those long wide open rips is my guess.
Curious to see how castle holds up. My CASTLE 1520 only ran 3 runs (4 min.)on 8s. Temps were low too, but it nevertheless BLEW the ROTOR...!!! A formiliar problem with castle. Now more boaters with same problems. Better spend your money on a cheap 4092, i only lost 2mph which is not that much considering the motor is 2.5x cheaper...
I really hope castle creations comes out with a water jacket for the 1717, but until then, i think i might need to get the 1520 it just looks so good in your sonicwake v2 i got the same one so maybe I'll pull her out and throw some upgrades on for this summer
Hi. Incredible setup !!! Congrats !!! One question will this size motor fit perfectly at the right straight angle like the stock one without doing any trimming in the motor space ,?
U need 2 do a few standard rc boat things when u r changing 's value, - prop changes, make a big difference to speed & temps, as does weight of batteries.
Man, this is some next level stuff, I wonder if Insta360 would be better off with the newer smaller one and mounted more aero-like that anything would improve, though it all looks awesome to me and can't comment with knowledge as I am sitting here just wondering in the comfort of my home while you are doing all the test :)
Hi. Thats a great vid and a very fast sonic wake with the 1650 kv and the new esc. Please tell me with that 6S 10.000 mah brick batery how many running time mins does it have without heating up ? Does it keep the self righting feature ? Many thanks !
Heat of the battery depends on the load of your setup in your boat/ car etc. if it's close to stock it will only get warm when the battery is dead. With the next video adding a prop (more speed= more load), it will make the battery hotter at the end of the battery. If you intend to run hard, just run for 10 minutes then give it a break by opening the hatch, let cool air inside. After 5 minutes you'll be fine
@@InnovationRC thanks a lot ! Do you place the 6S 10.000 mah in the center of the tray ? So you kept the stock prop in this set up? Can you please tell me which brand are those bateries and where to buy them ? Do they come in 6S 8500 mah also ?
I don’t get what the upgrades are doing. My sonicwake out of the box stock went quicker than that on 6s and the 10000ma battery is way too heavy for this boat and will cause it to run very wet.
If you watch the videos from the beginning of running this boat, you'll see what everything does. The motor is slower but more efficient. That's why everyone is saying they are going faster. I don't really care about fast. I want clean reliability
Nice German "three"...lol. Seriously, though, switching away from the stock electronics has always been best with the SonicWake. I have two V1s...one for 4S, and one for 6S. Both are currently running aftermarket electronics (both have HW SeaKing 180A ESCs), with the 4S running a 2050kv, and the 6S running a 1650kv. Both perform WAY better then the stock Dynamite electronics. I also have a V2...technically, I bought the V2 for my stepdad...but, since he seems to have lost interest in anything RC, I'm considering either selling the V2...or, better yet, "taking over" the V2, and selling one of my V1s.
@@eduardonessim4499 Having only somewhat-recently finished the 6S build, it hasn't been in the water yet...but, regarding the prop installed, it'll be (initially) running the "Stage 2" prop from RC Boat Bitz. As for batteries, I currently have/use packs from Power Hobby, SMC, and Gens Ace...but, once I've had the chance to go through all my packs, and determine which are no longer 'good', I'll be replacing them with packs from CNHL. That being said, my first SW36...the one now designated the 4S...has been run on 6S. With that boat, I first tried a 1650kv motor with 4214 prop, and, of I remember correctly, I'd get 5-6min. My goal wasn't "high speed"...the goal was to increase run-time...so, I dropped it down to a 1400kv, which definitely helped increase run-time, but also made it too slow (could barely get on-plane). I swapped in a 4216 prop (same diameter, higher pitch), which helped, but not by a larger enough difference. Next, I went with a 4416, and that seemed to be the "sweet spot" (at least, b with the 1400kv motor) - I got decent enough speeds, and was getting around 7-8min of run-time. Of course, with the second SW36...ie. the 6S...I will be starting the testing all over again, starting with the previously-mentioned RC Boat Bitz "Stage 2" prop. Whatever you go with...wherever you start...best of luck to you. As for me, I'll probably be selling one of my SW36 V1s, as I'm going to "take over" the SW36 V2 I had purchased for my stepdad (he's had it for 2yrs, and it's still in the box)...and, at that point, not sure how either SW36 will be configured.
Great motor choice for this boat. Gives you lots of prop options and also running 8s!
Awesome video!
Thank you! 💚

You may have just inspired me to get my boat out... Well done, man, you're doing a great job. 😎👍
Thanks Vas I appreciate it. I'm truthfully having a lot of fun, nothing like the cars
Great vid, love the anticipation of next level excitement 😅. Now to find your next video.
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO VERY COOL .. WHAT SHOULD BE MY FIRST RC BOAT .
Recoil 18! It's like $200 with everything. See if you like the boat stuff then get a Sonicwake!

No unfortunately you'll need to trim the motor rest area a little to get it in there and move some things around
U need 2 do a few standard rc boat things when u r changing 's value, - prop changes, make a big difference to speed & temps, as does weight of batteries.
Just amazing
I agree! This is the perfect motor to upgrade with, unfortunately losing a little speed but it's worth it 👍

I see you with the insta360 sLim! Nice edit B🫡
I love it! That camera runs on magic 😂

You have about 20 minutes of runtime constant on the water. Depending how you drive it may be 25-30m

i say run that on 12s with a smaller prop!
gwg2000 is badass i have gwg1000 and it is also badass

Hi. Great 6S setting ! Which 6S batery are you using ? How many mins running time do you get ?
Many thanks !
Also which prop.?
