If we're going Legends, we stand no chance. If we're going Disney canon, it'd take one helluva bombardment, but it can be done. Plus, lightsabers would be pretty useless against our faster munitions which, even if he did block the shots, the molten slag would still be pretty lethal.

The stormtroopers have green armor too, it is just not used as often. In Star Wars, we can see green camo on stromtroopers several times.
Edit: I am leaving this a year later so I have more knowledge. The stormtroopers have adapted into military situation with camouflages and they most centairnily block some lower caliber weaponary.

In Star Wars there actually are guns that fire bullets called “slug throwers” that are rarely used because you need a lot more ammo and because even the most basic armor can resist fire from them. Stormtrooper armor seems useless but you have to remember that the main rifle used by the rebel alliance has been known to blow the arms off of un armored people.
Yes but slug trowers where just that. SLUG throwers. Slugs are much bigger and wider projectiles that have a MUCH lower velocity than standard kaliber bullets. Not to mention that their surface area is much bigger therefore greatly decreasing armour penetration.
And lets not forget that we see stormtrooper armour shatter and break from much weaker blunt trauma like bobas staff.

Stormtroopers are trained extremely well on a personal level and in a large assault. Where they flounder is small unit tactics. It's why they're so effective at steamrolling bunched up Rebel cells (Hoth and Jeddha come to mind) but really flounder during fights like Endor or Tattooine
They are also the equivalent of the US Rangers/Airborne etc etc (Aka not special operations but very close, aka yes there is a entire different Imperial Army that are way worse) which it seems like everyone forgets, when plot armor doesn’t show up it’s stated *stormtroopers are a big threat*

Storm troopers are usually frantically running around because of the unpredictable scenarios, not because their untrained.
Earth is pretty wild. So i expect they wont be able to handle this stuff. Also, their army is massive, meaning not all of them are properly trained, and are recruits from other planets.

One thing you are forgetting is that the imperial military had billions of troopers, so even if every able person joined the fight, they would get overpowered quite quickly
Not overpowered more like overwhelmed if it purely ground troops also more likely there not send that much troops to earth that just waste of resources unless we start kicking ass.
We would probably have to use nukes and airstrikes a lot if we had to fight them but also tanks and artillery which could destroy an entire Squadron of stormtroopers. Also any kind of reinforcement would be useless considering all the anti air weapons we have on ground. Also lightsabers would be a little useless considering we would just put a 50-cal bullet into their brain.

you shouldn't forget that stormtroopers are not the main army troopers of the Empire. They are, in fact, special forces with an higher training (compared to the standard soldiers). Also, they could literally just send a bunch of light cruisers and do orbital bombardment in strategic locations to destroy the main military bases all over the globe and then start a proper land invasion (which would led to a massacre on both sides.

First let's take into count how on average how fast a bullet goes. 2,700 ft per second, which is 1,900 miles per hour, which is around 25 times faster than a single blaster bult is Star Wars, plus an entire elite military team all attacking him at once from all angles, Vader is already fucked from that alone. Now let's look at how fast a sniper bullet is. It's around 1,800mph aka 2,700 feet per second, aka 800 meters per second, aka the average distance a sniper is from its target, meaning Vader would be shot dead in 1 single second. Now let's say somehow someway, he senses it with the force, it does not matter, becuae tf is he going to do? slice 1000 bullets a second going 25 times faster than a blaster bolt? Nah, Obi already tried blocking one single bullet, didn't work out to well for him in the comic, the bullet melted and shrapnel went straight into his chest, now image an entire team of elite soldiers, which thousands would probably be deployed once they see Vader uses magic powers. Now that's thousands of troops shooting guns that can shoot 10 bullets a second 25x faster than a blasterbolt, with extreme training, and far more skilled than storm troopers. Vader would already be dead again, but just so I can destroy your idea of thinking he would be dead even farther, let's pull up the tanks, yeah he ain't doing nothing. Already dead multiple times. Nukes don’t do much damage to Orbiting spacecraft in Star Wars and is more effective when you want to wipeout a population. They casually use those things in Star Wars
The empire’s biggest advantage would be the fact that they can drop troops anywhere on earth in a matter of minutes. Modern atmospheric defenses require warning and time and so the empire could just look down see were our defenses were weakest and literally just drop and their would be zero defenses adapted to deal with it. They would cause so much damage in the first 48 hours there would likely be no time for countries to coordinate.
Blitzkrieg would be their only option
Thats why most of the modern armies are mechanized, although, even with invading weakspots it would be hard for them, literally you have a whole planet agaisnt you that has best tactics, equipment you are not used to fight and Nukes that can destroy a star destroyer in just 2 hitz

Detonate a nuke near the destroyer. The explosion would do minor damage. The EMP that would be emitted would in effect, act like an ion cannon and disable the destroyer. As for a Death Star, just gotta get a nuke inside. With its own massive air supply, gravity, and such a nuke or two would demolish it or damage it beyond usefulness

Problem is then, now Earth is a galactic outlaw for using nuclear weapons and now we have to nuke the entire empire.
I'm not that versed in Star Wars lore, but no offense, i still find comments like these a tad silly.
The first problem i see is this: how will you manage to get anything near the destroyer? Correct me if im wrong but I'd assume the destroyer to be fully capable of defending itself from any kind of attack sent from us, from whatever equivalent of AA guns they have to their smaller spaceships ready at any moment to defend the flagship all equipped with advanced scanners and radars.
Meanwhile, what do we have? We have rockets we use for small personnel/cargo transport and that's pretty much it, we don't have any kind of weapon nor are technologically advanced enough in order to build something that defends the rocket containing the nuke while in space.
Which brings us to the second problem, nukes aren't really that effective in outer space lol...
Of course it would be different if the destroyer entered our atmosphere but we shan't disregard everything I've listed in my first point.
Then, my last point, if the Empire came to our Earth in order to conquer us, they will either use negotiations or the element of surprise first.
Building rocket wielding nukes would pretty much be a declaration of war and the locations we produce them at would probably be prime targets if they were to fight us.
Bonus point, being conquered by the empire would probably be the best outcome for us(unless they enslave and or kill all of us).
We would finally be able to unite as one and possibly gain access to very, very advanced technology that would've taken us an eternity to research. Sounds like a win-win to me.
If humans act with reason instead of pride and emotions, we would easily advance as a species which i would be all in for.

Well, you do forget a couple things i believe.
1. The storm troopers are like the "Elite" soldiers of the Empire, and there is a large group in the empire called "Mud Troopers" which were featured in Solo. These guys are like the main force for the empire, like say they throw these guys in first to do as much damage as thry can, while Storm Troopers come in at the end to "take credit for winning the battle" Mud Troopers are pretty juch WWI soldiers.
2. Storm Troopers have more training than our soldiers. The only reason we see these guys run around and are dumb is because of a thing called Plot Armor. If none of the Star Wars characters had any plot armor, the Storm Troopers wwould wipe the floor with them like in Rouge One.

We have better weapon systems than the galactic empire and all it would take is anti air guns to mow down the TIE fighters, and star destroyers would be very quickly destroyed by our nukes, the AT-AT walkers would be taken down using anti tank rockets and landmines, unfortunately, the galactic empire's ground forces have no chance against us.
Well, that's debatable. Tie fighters can be taken down by any modern day fighter jet. Tie fighters are unshielded, and slow, and got some very obvious blind spots. Send one F-15, that would be more than enough to take down an entire squadron.
ATAT would be more of a challenge. Maybe they'd force the army to send an A10 or a couple of Abrahams.
That's all considering the Stormtroopers first strike USA.
ATATs are cool as hell, but I doubt they would be very effective irl. They are bulky, clumsy and slow. They’d be far more effective mounted on treads instead of robotic legs

Actually from what I understand, stormtrooper armor if kept in very good condition is impervious to all manner of projectile weapons. I could be wrong, but according to Thrawn Alliances pristine armor is impervious to EVERYTHING except high-powered blasters

I think the biggest chance of victory we would have, would most likely be pure attrition. Make it cost so much to actually take earth that it’s not worth it. So many casualties and elements of psychological warfare that they give up and leave. Then again, as you said, Death Star would probably be called up. But still, victory for us because we drove them off to the point where they decided it would be better to destroy us than attempt control.
I don’t think getting completely destroyed would be much of a victory. In the end the empire would survive and we wouldn’t.

We're fucked. There are specific troopers for each type of terrain. They use camouflage aswell, but usually whenever we see Stormtroopers in the movies are in situations where hiding and camouflage isn't needed. The white plastoid armour is the norm, but there are different types. Stormtroopers may be less trained, but their officers aren't. In sheer numbers they win. In tactical ability they win (as they have more options (and if they have Thrawn then we're done for)). Also, Stormtroopers are trained to work together. They don't recieve as much training as here on Earth but they receive enough to get by. And to clarify, Stormtroopers aren't that bad a shot (Imperial Stormtroopers as least). They get their reputation from episode 4 when they didn't hit anyone on the Death Star. That is because they were ordered to let them go, but not let the enemy know that so they could track the ship back to the Rebellion's base. But yeh, a Star Destroyer would mean we're done for.
I think thrawn called it planetary bombardment in the rebels series where he had his star destroyers wreck havoc on the planets surface. We would be screwed.

This may be true, but air superiority would be instantly gone, and we also have to think about the inquisitors and Vader and the purge troopers, AT-AT’s which cannot be destroyed by our own tanks because of their armor. On top of that, numbers! Stormtroopers are very numerous and despite common belief, they are precise with their shooting if we listen to the actual lore (and to Obi-Wan) and they have troops like snow troopers, desert troopers and special forces who use camouflage. Green camo armor was actually pretty common in the imperial army, just not shown in the movies.

we have slug throwers. In fact, in republic commando, using a shotgun on a commando could cause extensive damage with the kinetic impact. If not, then quite literally, I think 556. and 7.62 or anything above possibly 9mm. and 45. acp will fuck over a storm trooper. now, when we pull out something like 50. cals they're dead.

@@brentc2411The main danger of nukes in space is actually nuclear radiation. The blast disappears, and so does thermal radiation. But without an atmosphere to attenuate it, it's nuclear radiation is much, much worse in space than at sea level.
I suspect ISDs (and most Star Wars ships) have shielding tech to deal with radiation since they are spacefaring vessels and naturally have to deal with cosmic phenomena all the time.

A nuke still cannot produce a blast or shockwave in space, so it will not "crack it in half" regardless. HOWEVER, you may be on to something about using them for EMPs if they're close enough to do so.
Storm troopers shots per fatal kill was around 30-40 shots per kill, meanwhile, just the U.S army has upward 110-120 per kill, that's a HUGE difference, the only reason that we see stormtroopers always missing is because if they were as accurate as they should be, it would be a short movie

Stormtrooper armor is designed to deflect blaster fire. The bright white color is meant to reduce the heat damage done by a blaster shot but it gets extremely weak if blunt force is applied instead of heat

Armor in star wars blocks slug throwers really well, storm trooper armor is made from plastoid which is not going to block head on blaster bolts but it will disperse some of the energy. The reason conventional ballistic weapons arent used in star wars is because they are obsolete blasters are more powerful, easier to use and hardly need to reload. The gas that the blasters shoot is also widely accessible and cheap. On a military scale they would wipe the floor with earth😂

@@MrEcoho Yes slug throwers can cause severe wounds but any new or old armor in star wars history was shown to block slug throwers easily unless the target is unarmed, but in star wars the chances of you finding a fully un armored combatant is unlikely since armor is very common in the star wars universe and its worn by alot of militarized factions and syndicates. Its been stated many times in cannon star wars content that slug throwers are highly ineffective against blasters plus blaster ammunitions is alot easier to come by because its easier to manufacture and and cost less. They almost never need to reload and unless they are cooling the weapon, blaster also do more internal damage consistently and they are more accurate.

hell in canon material we never see the stuff used at all, but storm trooper armor in current canon is essentially useless.
blasters were cheaper to use but less effective at killing people because the amount of energy needed to launch a projectile at lethal speeds is more than a blaster bolt which can do the same thing if less effectively. A M-16 was used over the M-14 for basically the same reason, it was cheaper to make and could be as lethal if at a less effective range with less stopping power.

Also, we have superior rate of fire, our bullets aren't all tracers, our rounds are faster, our armor is less detectable and more survivable, our aircraft are faster and have much better weapons systems and detection/sensors, and even if they pull up with a star destroyer (I view the death star as unlikely, as we aren't a particularly important planet and they generally don't have any significant numbers of death stars) we have nukes which can easily reach space and could absolutely obliterate the imperial ships.
Could 4chan just hack the Death Star and they most likely came to conquer the planet not destroy it.

In a canon comic Vader was surrounded by thousands of rebels. The rebels said to Vader that they have him surrounded and the only reply Vader gave was "All I'm surrounded by is fear and dead men" and then he used the force and killed every single rebel on that battlefield. I guess Vader can do the same against our forces.

Ion shields that withstand radiation TIE Fighter support ripping us to shreds, SPMAT-artillery, speeder troopers, jet troopers, TX-130 Saber gunners, Occupier tank gunners, Force Users, Plastoid protection. Sharpshooters(better shootingsight) Imperial Bombardment, Proton bombing runs. Bro we’re f*cking screwed.
Stormtroopers are a specialgroup in the empire, the army of the empire are imperial army troops (we see them in Ander and Solo a Star Wars Stories) and this trooper wearing camouflage too
Allow me to fact check you. Stormtrooper armor is shown to be resistant to most kinetic attacks, such as slug rounds. So I believe they could hold up against bullets, at least against most small-arms fire.
