    A pack of terror birds are underrated. They can fit in every cave and can even fly/glide to skip to the bottom of some caves. Not many people use them but I have found them to be viable in Ark ascended with the cave changes. Who doesn't have a terror bird saddle bp too? They are super common in normal drops.

    I have successfully ridden my sasquatch into every crevice of the Upper South Cave and was able to exit, although the bottlenecks on the way out took a lot of jumping around.
    The giganto performed super well, and can even manage to climb/jump that ledge to the artifact in the Upper South Cave.
    I havent taken one to the Carno cave yet, but so far I feel like the gigantopithecus is a very good pick, especially if you have very good helmet bp's.
    I have good hide helmets so i just carry some fiber and hide if they need repairs on the fly. Veggie cakes also nice. Only drawback in my opinion is all the hide and chitin left on the ground.

      Not sure if I misunderstood this last part or not, but you can harvest chitin and hide with the C key if I remember correctly, same as would fiber.

    Hi , so I discovered that the daeodon fits in most caves and does well at recovering hp . I use a 15k hp and 700+ deaodon in swamp no problem. But it's not good at coming back out , goes in with a jump.
    Another problem I think is it's hight that's not too good at killing bat's fast but with patience it's done.
    I hope this helps

    Dimorphodons. When you were getting attacked by the bats on the megalania, Shoulder dimo would have been helping kill it. Megalania melee damage lacking? Bring 5-10 dimos on follow set to aggressive and you got damage, and any that gets near will likely die without you even needing to shoot them. The great thing is they're easy to tame, and super easy to breed. There's at least one video from ASE where a guy kills a wild giga with max mutated dimos. They are super underrated, and arguably the best shoulder pet in ASA currently. Otters being the only other real option because of their AC effect and ability to carry an artifact. However shoulder otter with dimo swarm is unmatched. When SE comes out Vultures are comparable, but ASE had some funkiness going on with their targeting if I recall. Featherlight were basically 1:1 with dimo statwise if I recall, but has the light stuff going for it.

      I tried using a frog but i Don't think it was imprinted. I used it with the same settings/level points that the other dinos used in my videos had, and i got overwhelmed in the second or third chamber.

    What about daeodon? Hell pig works great for me, can get easily 20k hp and tank everything or go full mele and get like 600+ dps, just didn't test it in all caves yet

      I got 7k base 380m after imp something like 450m (not on game not accurate) when I'm done 15k hp all in melee 700+ with a 50+ armor sad , the only cave that stops them is lava cave , going in in no problem it's coming back out.
      Pob them and grappling is the best way iv lost to may war hugs to lava NOT wilds.
      They are fantastic

    I haven't done all of the caves with them yet, but I'm currently challenging myself to do the entire island using only herbivores (plus argies when I'm farming resources, because I'm not *that* crazy haha) and while I think the gorilla is a great cave-runner it can be kind of hard to find a good breeding pair. I haven't seen a single one over level 75 yet, let alone two of them of opposite genders. I had much better luck with megaloceros, they're surprisingly tanky and hit quite hard and as a bonus it seems like the drops absolutely love giving great deer saddles and bps haha. Plus they're practically everywhere on the island, so if you can't find a good one in an area there are plenty of other places to look.
    Their base damage is higher than raptors, they just don't get the pack boost or attack quite as fast but I think that's offset by a bit higher knockback and much wider attack arc. And sabertooth might hit harder, but the deer don't struggle as much to hit the bats so you're not stuck exclusively shooting them, but when you need to you can still attack from their backs. They're also pretty fast and have great jumping, and I'm sure some people will see it as a downside but I think it's a benefit that they won't harvest dinos or berries at all, they'll pick up trophies and items from alphas but will never get overburdened unless you happen to be fighting near trees for some reason. Their biggest downside is that the females can't attack at all, so if you try to take a squad into the caves where that's viable and want to have the mate boost you're stuck babysitting one of them, and that can make it frustrating to breed them since you've got a 50/50 chance of getting a baby you can't really get any use out of. The females are even faster than the males though, for those who just want a way to get across the map quickly without always using flyers - I haven't yet found a single dino I can't outrun when riding my doe around drop hunting!

    • @SpartacusSurvives
      @SpartacusSurvives  Рік тому +1

      Well the megaloceros is good, but it's better suited to do things around the map, not in the cave, where you can take full advantage of its speed.

    • @ThornedLily
      @ThornedLily Рік тому +2

      Yeah, I can agree with that - within my own self-imposed limitations of only using herbivores though, they're one of only two options that can even fit in caves and like I said, the gorilla (which I think is the superior choice between the two specifically for caves) is really, really hard to find in comparison lol. Plus the wide antlers can pretty much block off entire tunnels in some of the caves, which is something I think a lot of people miss out on with other, sleeker dinos.
      I also just like the way the megaloceros look though haha, in a game full of dinosaurs why not ride a moose?

    • @SpartacusSurvives
      @SpartacusSurvives  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, good gorillas are a bit hard to find. Glad to see someone using some of the offmeta creatures. :)

      trawl the river in between the volcano and redwoods, killing most of the enemies and going back and forth, in my experience I found like 3-7 gigantopithecus each sweep. you can sometimes see megatheriums there if you get lucky too, might be worth a shot for farming lystriix.

    Honestly, my barys mate boosted and imprinted have never let me down. Even in the ice cave the only thing you need to do is pay attention to the mounds of parlova by whistling in and back. They are only scary because they dismount you. My barys desimates swamp cave and dispite the tight fit they can get all the way to the artifact.

    • @mikestmp
      @mikestmp Рік тому +1

      @@SpartacusSurvives keep in mind our server is 300 wild, but 750 cave dinos. The stats are 98 hp, 100 melee, 90 stam, but they were bred into one mating pair. Barys don't have oxygen or movement stats so they get higher than average distribution.

    • @SpartacusSurvives
      @SpartacusSurvives  Рік тому +2

      ok so you did a bit of stat breeding to get some top tier dinos. I feel like most people, especially on single player will just use their first pair of baryonyx to breed.

      @@SpartacusSurvives Well yeah, but if you're ready to tackle the dragon you should have at least that much down.

    • @yautjamerk9159

      Not really possible with vanilla settings. We've got a nice line of barys (48 base HP + 8 muts, 52 base melee + 12 muts) an clearly, they don't stand a chance against Ice Cave mobs even when equipped with ~180 armor ascendant saddles, on official settings with solo player settings OFF.
      Your custom levels are giving you a huge boost.
