Can we all take a moment to appreciate a: How much Kirk grew up in this movie and b: How amazing he is at giving speeches/ pep talks no matter the circumstance. Because honestly, both are incredible.

I think it's been a little longer than five years!! Maybe that should be changed to "its mission". Ya think??
The mission only lasted 2.65 Years until the Enterprise was Wrecked in Star Trek Beyond. They Skipped from the Pike Era into the TMP Era with just 1 Film!! There should have been a War between the Federation and the Klingons as was Implied in Into Darkness. But no... It was not meant to be.
i love Star trek, but Lord of the Rings is an epic that inspiredan entire genre, and as far as quality goes, both the movies and books will be unnmatched for a LONG time

I really loved this piece; it seems to me that Giacchino wanted to give Kirk his own "theme"--just as he did for Spock in the 2009 Star Trek film.
