I think throughout the books Raistlin was the main character despite Tanis being the focus. I think it tried to show that the most important person isn't always the hero.
Raistlin/dragonlance is why there are a two dragons and the god Nuitari upon my back. Wanted to have his tower with the shoikan Grove but really out of money.
Well, it may mean some few people who see the movie without having read any of the books decide Dragonlance is garbage and never pick up the books; that would be rather a pity. Of course, the movie was a direct to DVD release with a pretty small run, and nearly impossible to find for rent (even Casa Video in Tucson, whose rental shelves hold over 50,000 titles, didn't bother to buy a copy), so it may be nobody ever watched it who wasn't already a fan.

David Tennant would make an amazing Raistlin, plus it would be good to see him in a more cynical, sinister role, since people always think of him as Dr Who nowadays. But I still hold my opinion that Kiefer Sutherland made an amazing Raistlin.

Yep, that was exactly what I said, Raistlin cant beat a Dragon in a just battle, but control is other thing, even Arcalagon can be controled by the Orb of Dragons. But, remember control a dragon is isnt easy, that required a lot of mental streng, and if the dragon is more powerfull the your mental energy must overcome that power, so I dont know if Raistlin can control a monster that could destroy a mountain. When I said the thing of against Morgoth was a compairision, nothing more.

But in order of power this was like this: 1) The Dragon Arcalagon and the first great spider. 2)The captain Balrog and Sauron.
I've read the entire series dude.. and he doesnt do it for Paladine at all Raistlin wasnt trapped... When Caramon told him of his future as a god he realised there wasnt a point in it and gave up the choice... It was for his own reason, not because he wanted to save anyone.

Clearly Dragonlance is a high magic realm with lots of powerful wizards whereas Middle Earth is a low magic realm. Of course writing styles dictated that. Tolkien wasn't keen on using a lot of magic because it turns into a Deus Es Machina much like Dragonlance's use of magic to solve plot problems.
This movie wasn't really all that bad. Actually it was about what I was expecting based upon the infomation that I had before its release. Sadly they cut out about 75% if Raistlin's part of the story. Is the second one still being made?
I all ready reads the books of Dragonlance, the Lord of the Rings, The Silmarilion, The Hobbit and The Sons of Hurin. So, of who are you talking? They are a lot circunstances, battles and enemies that want the world for his own.

Considering the quality of the first movie, Kentnedland, I doubt it. People don't make sequels to movies that do badly, I've found. Battlefield Earth is one example.

Had no idea there was a DL cartoon/movie! though on reflection, probably best off not knowing, I can't see how it would do justice to the books in the slightest. I can imagine how annyoying they would make the Tanis and Tasslehof characters for one thing. Tanis was already close to be annoying as it was (saving grace being his internal struggle)
I didn't like the mix of CG-style draconians and dragons vs standard animation for everything else. Hopefully some day someone else will try again and do a proper job of it.
I honestly couldn't believe how terrible the movie was. I only made it about 25 minutes (up to the boat scene) and couldn't watch any more. I had only finished the first book the day before. Loved the book, and was disappointed that barely anything I enjoyed from it was in the movie An animated show covering the entire Chronicles trilogy would make more sense. Higher budget, better animation quality and more of the books can be included.
LOVE Dragonlance! Raistlin is easily my favorite character out of any and all categories of entertainment. Movie was f*cking horrible. Needs to be redone with graphics like the FF: Advent Children movie. Or Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal. Oh...song is ok too lol

No, Raistlin is strong, but he cant match agaist a dragon or a god, you must remember this, Raistlin can control the dragon Bloodbane but him do that whit the power of the "orb of dragons". Bloodbane was stong but he cant match agains Arcalagon because Arcalagon wasent a normal dragon he was The Dragon, his size was huge "When Arcalagon fell, him destroy an entire mountain" words of the Silmarilion and more, his flame was so powerfull, that can destroy the great ring, words of Gandalf.

Gaming literature is awful and the Dragonlance books are the epitomes of gaming fiction. I am not fan of this kind of music either, but it is still easily better than the whole Dragonlance corpus, I guess. To put it short and punchy: this song is the best thing in the media life of Raistlin, written or not.
